The 10th National Conference of ABISY was held at Mysore from December 24th to 26th 2015 on “Women in Indian culture: From ancient to Modern” (3)

December 29, 2015

The 10th National Conference of ABISY was held at Mysore from December 24th to 26th 2015 on “Women in Indian culture: From ancient to Modern” (3).

RSS briefed about the conference earlier - Indian Express, Aug 17, 2015

ABISY, RSS and women: In August itself, the RSS briefed about the conference[1] as could be noted from the Indian express. From December 24 to 26, Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana (ABISY) will hold a three-day conference in Mysore, where around 1,000 delegates will discuss “Women in Indian culture: through the ages”. “We will discuss their strength and their importance in various phases of Indian history. Women in Rig Vedic times enjoyed a high status in society but due to several reasons their status began to decline,” said Balmukund, an RSS pracharak working with ABISY. Sources say an RSS meeting in Nainital discussed the gender ratio in RSS affiliates (see chart). “Representation of women is gradually increasing in our organisations. At the Ahmedabad conclave, we will discuss several aspects of women empowerment and their role in our organisations,” said Mahila Samanway chief Geeta Tayi Gunde, who coordinates among the affiliates on women’s issues. Though RSS shakhas don’t allow women, a separate organisation called Rashtra Sevika Samiti holds women’s shakhas on the lines of RSS shakhas[2]. But, RSS has been having dialogue with Christians and Muslims. However, they are not able to counter negative reorting of media, whenever, it is mentioned that they are against so-and-so and so on[3].

Aggressive left historiansThe aggressive domination of the Leftist and Muslim historians: The excessive, extreme and unnecessary domination of the leftists and Muslim groups over the proceedings of IHC has been resented, questioned and examined by neutral historians, archaeologists and other connected experts many times. The way they have been projecting the medieval and modern periods and suppressing the ancient period and also the interpretation of national, social, religious and political issues, problems and controversies in a biased manner much against the interests of common Indians[4]. The IHC coetrie have been authoritatively imposing such one-sided view for the last 60 years, as could be noted not only from the yearly proceedings volumes, but also their interviews, views and comments registered in the media on various occassions. Ironically the charges of so-called elite, eminent and emeritus hisorians have been proved baseless even at the level of Supreme Court, when their own engaged experts filed petitions alleging the saaffronization of educational curriculum, academic and social institutions, the Hon’ble Court ruled out dismissing them. Romila Thapar agitated and openly questioned the judgment dubbing as “Hindutwa judgment” and declared that they would be appealing against the judgment, but noting happened. So in a democaratic country, all views have to be accommodated, naturally, the so-called rightist, nationalist and hindutwa views also be provided space equally. As the dominant leftist and Muslim coetrie does not relish this, the ideological struggle has now been turned into political one and for which they are responsible. This was revealed even during the IHC-2014 jeld at JNU taking the issue of “glorification of Nehruvian era”[5].

marxist-historian-work-together-ideologicallyABISY, RSS and IHC: RSS and IHC were having ideological struggle over Indin history, historiography and methodoloy for the last three decades. While the IHC dominant groups have been moving ahead with the current topics, recent issues and contemporary problems, the rightist, nationalist and patriotic counterparts have not even realized their exisence. Most of them have been almost The IHC ideological bandwagon and aggressive coetrie many times do not recongize peer group experts, only because of the reason that they might be against their ideology. Thus, many prominent, professional and secialized historians, archaeologists, epigraphists, numismaticians and others were / are never invited or allowed to attend the conference by their own “rogue mannerism” but showing off as “expertized professionalism”.  Though RSS has been trying to counter them through ABISY and BISS, their heads, zonal heads and members have been –

  1. Not matching with the professionalism of the leftist and Muslim ideologists.
  2. The vigour started in 1980s died down with changed persons heading[6].
  3. Instead of “offensive”, “defensive” position is taken in the match, however, there have been some individual fighters, but they are ignored by the rightists.
  4. In spite of the judicial victory[7], they could not continue the academic struggle with proficiency, professionalism and practice[8].
  5. inexperienced in preseting papers, if at all, they come forward to present.
  6. read and understand Indian history any perspective.
  7. Ameteurish, unprofessional and incompetent in dealing with their ideological opponents.
  8. Dormant because of excessive patriotism and refused to look at other ideologists in right perspective.
  9. Ignore, sideline and even disregard the exerienced who come to join, work with and get along the ABISY and BISS.
  10. Active only when BJP or NDA is in power and latent during other periods.

Unless, the rightists do not revaluate, reassess and reorganize themselves, they cannot win the battle.

Nehruvian era, IHC, ICHR and RSS (2014): Even as Madan Mohan Malaviya and Shyamaprasad Mookerjee continue to make news headlines, Jawaharlal Nehru dominated a day in New Delhi where historians praised his role, at an event that was sponsored among others by the state governments of Kerala, Karnataka and Assam, all Congress-led administrations. The three-day long Platinum Jubilee edition of the Indian History Congress (IHC), which concluded in JNU last year, also counts the Union government bodies ICHR andUGC among its main sponsors. The IHC Association, which organizes the meet, had set a broad direction for the annual event with the theme ‘Humanism, Tolerance and Reason: Defining the Contours of History’. But two panels under the auspices of the left-leaning JNU and Aligarh Historians’ Society (AHS) expressly focused on discussions and paper presentations concerning the Nehruvian Era and its current relevance, and the past and present forms of inequality in India, respectively[9]. But Dr Rakesh Batabyal, Local Secretary of the IHC, said there was nothing much political to read into the event. “We had written to all state governments for sponsorship and received from these three. Also, the HRD Ministry through UGC and ICHR has also sponsored the event, so there is nothing political about it,” he said. Batabyal pointed out that ICHR head Y. Sudharshan Rao – an appointee of the BJP-led Central government[10] – had also been invited and he attended the event. “The reason for focusing on Nehru was on account of the commemoration of the ex-PM’s Golden death anniversary. Also, we have voices from the economic right to left, it was an open field, he added. He also conceded, though, that finding historians from cultural right was difficult, and thus no presence could be seen,” he said. On its part, the RSS-affiliated history research organization was not too impressed with the event. “We used to go for the event in the past, but now none of our office bearers goes. The IHCA is a communist-leaning organization,” Mukul Pandey (sic), General Secretary of the ABISY, told ET[11].

[3] The ABISY is working on several projects to rewrite history. Last year the outfit organised a function at National Museum to pay homage to the “last Hindu emperor of Delhi Hemu Vikramaditya”. From December 24 to 26, ABISY will hold a three-day conference in Mysore, where around 1,000 delegates will discuss “Women in Indian Culture: Through the Ages.” – See more at: http://indianexpress.com/article/india/india-news-india/tatya-tope-rss-linked-outfit-backs-descendants-theory-on-his-death/#sthash.KZjgannq.dpuf

[4] The Proceeding volumes sprak the truth and the papers chosen to include expose their bias, prejudice and hatred against others. Many times, very good researched papers, eventhough recommended by the sectional presidents after much appreciated discussion, were not included brcause of such professional, ideological and regional bias.

[5] The Economic Times, Historians praise Jawaharlal Nehru at annual Indian History Congress Association meet,AKSHAY DESHMANE, ET Bureau Dec 30, 2014, 09.33PM IST.

[6] During the New Delhi session, many of the faithfuls simply sent the life membership money with the note, “As per the directions of Mananiya Moropant Pingely, I hereby send the fees”. Alerted and bewildered by them, the ruling IHC bandwagon simply rejected their membership. However, both had been proved wrong, as the Delhi High Court decided differently, when they went to court.

[7] The so-called “Hindutwa” judgment consequent to the NCERT issue and coupled with “saffronization of academic curriculum”, the rightwing ideologists did not pursue the issue professionally.

[8] Note below what Balamkund says about it! . On its part, the RSS-affiliated history research organization was not too impressed with the event. “We used to go for the event in the past, but now none of our office bearers goes. The IHCA is a communist-leaning organization,” Mukul Pandey (sic), General Secretary of the ABISY, told ET.

[9] IHC dominat ideologists manipulate the session by bringing some unassuming paper presenters to force their views on others. This they have been doing in the case of RJM controversy also, making one fellow to present a paper “Ayodhya was in Afganistan”!

[10] This way of reporting has also been biased, because during the non-BJP regimes, the members were only the “appointees” of Communist, Muslim and Congress parties. In fact, the media should be balanced enough to address the issues properly without any pre-conceived notions.

On 23rd morning itself, about 200 delegates were there in the premises of Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Manasagangotri and they were accommodated in the hostels of Narmada, Krishna, Ganga etc. As more and more delegates started coming, they were accommodated in Terapanta Bhawan. VIP-delegates were accommodated in the University Guest House. The delegate fee of Rs. 750/- was charged and 870 were registered delegates as on 25-12-2015. The press was also briefed about it earlier[3].

ABISY – Centenary Celebration Committee of University of Mysore

Centenary Celebration Committee of University of Mysore[4]: For this, K.S Rangappa VC had appointed a centenary celebration committee. The committee consists of MPs, the former Prime Minister H.D Deve Gowda, former vice chancellors, litterateurs and other distinguished scientists[5]. After rigorous discussion the committee has come up with some projects with members of all shades of political and economic interests[6]. About the request of Rs.100 crores for the celebration and allocation of Rs.50 crires, “The Hindu” reported characteristically[7]. Even as the University of Mysore was getting ready to host its centenary celebration, the government, in a goodwill gesture, announced a grant of Rs. 50 crore for the historic fete which began on July 27, 2015, the day the university was established in 1916. The university had sought Rs. 100 crore from the government for the centenary fete. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, however, doled out Rs. 50 crore in the State Budget presented by him[8]. Expressing gratitude towards the government’s gesture, VC K.S. Rangappa said, “I thank the government for its benevolence. Actually, we had sought Rs. 100 crore from it for realising certain projects. But we are happy with the allocation.” A website was created and brochure issued[9]. Thus, among the other projects and programmes, the hosting of the Conference was included in the agenda by the Committee.

Inagural session (24-12-2015): The inaguration was held at the “Senate Hall” and there was secuirity checking, as two State Governors Karnataka HE Vajubhai Vala and Goa HE Mridula Sihna were participating. The delegates were taken to the venue from the Hostels by buses and the hall was full within half-an-hour. Sri Suresh Joshi Bhayyaji, Sarkaryavah, RSS was the guest speaker. Prof K. S. Rangappa, VC, University of Mysuru was the Chief Gust of Honour. They were waiting for the arrival of the Governors. On the stage nothing was there and the backdrop was just started putting up. The chairs were brought one by one and arranged on the stage. Three framed pictures were brought and placed on the chairs, but, they were not fittimg into, so two were removed and only one – that of Bharat Mata was accommodated in a chair. As mentioned, the programme was not started by 9.15, but by 10.15 am in a different way. The Zonal incharges of Bharatiya Itihasa Sankalana Samiti (hereinafter mentioned as BISS) were called.

ABISY - Senate hall entrance - Inagural function - secuirity check

Historians honoured by the organizedrs: 10.24 am: The programme was started. Each zonal incharge was asked to announce the historian selected. Thus, the following announced their respective historian as mentioned against each:

  1. Kataraia, Udaipur…………by……….
  2. Sher Singh announced………….
  3. Dilip Kumar Bhukkan announced for Assam by…………
  4. Anand Sharma (Uttaranchal)…………
  5. Rahman Ali, Ujjain was selected by………….
  6. Seernivasa Rao announced Prof A. Sundara.
  7. Anuradha (Telingana) announced Y. Sudhrshana Rao[10].

It was surprising that for the States, Seemanthra, Tamilnadu and Kerala, no historian of worth could be recognized and announced by them for honouring. It is clear that either the orgnizers or the Zonal incharge could have been so ignorant about their respective regions / States to select and nominate the historians or they did not want take such decision judiciously considering the facts. Ironically, the BISS, Tamilnadu shows many popular historians in their organization – Dr K. V. Raman, Dr R. Nagaswamy, Dr Rama Bai, Prof Dr K. M. Rao, Dr S. Kalyanaraman and others, yet the Zonal incharge could not think of anybody snd nominate nobody! Of course, there have been many-more in those states. When all were happening, many came (some important persons, scholars and elderly people) and returned, as none could recognize them or made them to seat! For instance, Tumkur University VC came and kept waiting and standing, for some time and he was not cared by anybody. Perhaps, the hall received more members to be acommodated than available seating arrangement!

Dr S Kalyana Raman lecture at IGNCA Bangalore Dec.23, 2001

Dr S Kalyana Raman lecture at IGNCA Bangalore Dec.23, 2001 – generally, he used to present on “Saraswati” related topics.

A presentation on “Sarasawati River Civilization”: 10.36 am: Inagural song was sung.

10.40 am: Welcoming the delegates, the person concluded with “Jai Hind, Jai Karnataka”!

11.01 am: Prashant Bharadwaj, Haryana Water Board, started explaining about the “Sarasawati River Civilization” with some slides, which were not at all attractive. Moreover, he was explaing in Hindi and thus evidently noot understood by the delegates coming from different states other than the Hindi speaking ones. It has to be mentioned that earlier Dr S. Kalyanaraman used to give presentation on “Sarasawati River Civilization” with many slides and lot of information, as he has been working on the subject and written many books[11].  He has published many books on the Sindhu-Saraswati civilization. Now, why he was not there was intriguing, as obviously, his absence was reveleaed through some slides used as noted.  However, it was learnt later that he had sent a PPT with many slides for presentation, but ignored by the organizers. About the differing views on “Saraswati” river, a comprehensive note can be seen here[12].

11.20 to 11.35 am: On RHS of the auditorioum, thee was commotion, as the seats meant for the press people were occupied by the delegates. So when chairs were put before the front road, the police objected to it on secuirity reasons.  The shouting stopped and they were made to settle down.

While members of the ICHR contacted by The Hindu said they didn’t know any details about Prof Rao’s step, some confirmed that the Council had recommended an honorarium of Rs. 1.5-lakh per month for Prof. Rao to the government, but no decision had been taken on this yet. “Happy to bleed” campaign, Nikita Azad and Vedaprakash – four days correspondence!

November 30, 2015

“Happy to bleed” campaign, Nikita Azad and Vedaprakash – four days correspondence!

Happy to bleed - campaign against sabarimalai entry deenial to women

On November 24, 2015, I came across one “Happy to bleed” campaign started by one Nikita Azad in the Facebook.

So I have gone through their column, read all the postings, comments and responses, I posted my first comment briefly as follows:

I have carefully gone through the thread.

As usual, the comments have been drifting to different directions with the intruding varied opinion.

The prohibition of menstruating women to enter religious places, participate in Eucharist and rituals etc., has been there throughout the world among the

Jews, Christians, Muslims, Hindus and others, even today.

Therefore, hope you bleed more happily and reasonably with secularism.

Very often the so-called, modern, western, progressive, broad-minded, forward-looking, feminist, and other varieties of ideologists attack Hindu religion, beliefs, etc., under the guise of attacking certain practices, where, ironically, many non-Hindus participate happily. So I started responding and replying many, where, certain specific points were raised. They again and again stressed their point of “right to bleed” etc., with photos of girls holding sanitary napkins in their hands, menstrual blood soaking their jeans, holding menstrual blood in tubes, such blood falling on fingers…….with different comments!

Meena Kandasamy - God do not look between my legs okay

“GOD DO NOT LOOK BETWEEN MY LEGS OKAY” have been the words of one “Meena Kandasamy”!

Happy to bleed - campaign - come and see the blood on my skirt

“Come and see blood on my skirt”, a red banner held by two girls and some girls standing around on the road!

Happy to bleed - campaign - priyanka Sharma and Aina Singh

Are your God would be seduced by women, if they enter?

What would happen if a woman enters with a pad?

Travelling Ayyappa baktas not behaving properly with women.

Janaki Venket How many of the men going to sabarimala actually follow the rules. I have seen many flaunting it! Travelled in a train once with a bunch of these men in black dress ogling at the ladies, passing comments & drinking in the night!

 ………………

I pointed out the propaganda of Muslims there proclaiming that Islam treats women ….gives rights and so on. When pointed out, in the context of menstruation, Islam does not allow women inside mosques, then, some accepted and retracted. Nikita also accepted mentioning my name and declared that they also against Islam, as they are involved in genital mutilation etc.

Happy to bleed campaigners - Sukhjeet Singh and Aman Jalwehra Singh

Two Sikhs holding placards also supported. I asked, “Tell me honestly, whether menstruating women are allowed in the Harmandarsahib”, they did not reply, but, some women responded, and clarified that the point is not that menstruating women are allowed inside mosques of Gurudwaras, but the entry of such women inside temples! So in India, though, women talk about the rights of women etc., they worry about Hindu women only in this way and they do not bother about non-Hindu women like Muslims, Christians, Sikhs etc.!

Happy to bleed campaign - photo

However, she could relish with my responses and answers and therefore, come out as follows:

Friends, this is an IMPORTANT statement.

Many people are continuously trying to defame the campaign by irresponsibly raising religious quarrels, even after we have repeatedly clarified that we oppose all religions, and practices that discriminate on gender grounds. When we openly posted that we are against Muslim communities that practice female genital mutilation, and do not let men and women pray together, the Brahaminical fundamentalists chose another method of maligning the campaign. They started using patriarchal words like ‘decency’ ‘decorum’ etc and even said that ‘have your mothers seen these posts’, which actually clarifies that their agenda is not to have any positive discussion, but defame the campaign. These fanatics simply cannot accept that women have spoken up in whatever manner they find correct. They wish to dictate in the manner of protest also.

Also, these indiviuals have gone to the extreme, and called our activists as prostitutes, that we should be gang raped, that’s what we are good for, and must remain in kitchens.

With only one day left for the social media campaign, we reject such irresponsible criticism, and urge everybody to share this message widely. Because till now we have launched a social media campaign only, and we are gifted with threats like stated, who knows what will happen when we take ground campaign.

BUT AT THE SAME TIME, I APPEAL TO ALL OUR SUPPORTERS NOT TO USE ANY OFFENSIVE WORD AGAINST THE TEMPLE OR AUTHORITIES, RATHER GIVE THEM IDEOLOGICAL FIGHT WITH YOUR ARGUMENTS. That will actually improve the campaign

Happy to bleed campaign - Nikita Azad accepts that now Islam also does not allow menstruating women inside mosques

Though, many things were not related to me, I responded point by point as follows:

As I have already mentioned that I have been reading your campaign column and responding not only to you, but also other campaigners. Through this comments, as you have unnecessarily have indulged in slandering me, through your remarks, “the Brahaminical fundamentalists chose another method of maligning the campaign. They started using patriarchal words like ‘decency’ ‘decorum’ etc and even said that ‘have your mothers seen these posts’”, I have to point out the following facts:

1.       The so-called “religious quarrels” have been going on in your campaign carried on by your Christian and Muslim friends, as could be noted from their accusing one particular religion, while appreciating their religious “goodness” and all (in fact, they are false, untruth and myth).

2.      we have repeatedly clarified that we oppose all religions, and practices that discriminate on gender grounds, bogey has come out now, obviously, as I started responding to those campaigners and you have also realized mentioning my name specifically in your reply. Ironically, now you want to “bleed with secularism”!

3.      which actually clarifies that their agenda is not to have any positive discussion, but defame the campaign – As you, including all your campaigners, have indulged in such denigrating, disparaging with indecent depiction, portrayal of women etc., your are now trying to defend yourself, by saying all these things.

4.      any positive discussion – Perhaps, it is me who initiated positive discussion and that is why you have realized your mistake of attacking “one particular religion” and started, “we also condemn muslims……………………….” and so on. You also referred to my name in one discussion about “menstruating women entering mosques……………”

5.      These fanatics simply cannot accept that women have spoken up in whatever manner they find correct – what is this? What right you have to call me “brahmanical fundamentalist”, “fanatics” etc?

a.      What is your agenda?

b.      If you do not have guts to respond the points raised me, accept your inefficiency or yur ignorance about the subject matter discussed.

c.       Do not indulge in this type of attack.

d.      In fact, you get exposed yourself, the language you have been using.

6.      started using patriarchal words like ‘decency’ ‘decorum’ etc – Yes, I recorded as follows:

“I am 65, with much anxiety only I have been responding to you and your friends of this campaigning.

You could note that I have been pointing the facts about ‘menstruating women entering the places of worship’.

But you have decided to attack only Sabarimalai movement.

Moreover, when the reporters ask such mischievous questions as to how you check the women entering, only he responded.

Perhaps, you might have known about the case of Jaymala actress who entered the temple.

Today, internet is viewed by children, boys and girls therefore, definitely, some amount of decency and decorum is required in depicting pictorially or otherwise.

7.      Though the other comments are not directed against me, Also, these indiviuals have gone to the extreme, and called our activists as prostitutes, that we should be gang raped, that’s what we are good for, and must remain in kitchens”…………., etc, I want to point out, that Newtons’s third law only worked here! To cite one example, that photo “GOD DO NOT LOOK BETWEEN MY LEGS OKAY”

8.     I APPEAL TO ALL OUR SUPPORTERS NOT TO USE ANY OFFENSIVE WORD AGAINST THE TEMPLE OR AUTHORITIES, RATHER GIVE THEM IDEOLOGICAL FIGHT WITH YOUR ARGUMENTS – so now, you say this! But your entire campaign has been against the temple, temple authorities, customs and practices, beliefs etc. So now you are afraid of some legal action for your defaming, disparaging, denigrating……………..campaign?

9.      Oh campaigners, be calm, relaxed and thing about everything.  I hope most of you are young girls and women studying in schools and colleges with a lot of hopes and ambitions in your minds. So concentrate in your studies, instead of indulging in such campaigns, as such acts would make you imbibed wih ideology, as prompted by Nikita Azad – RATHER GIVE THEM IDEOLOGICAL FIGHT WITH YOUR ARGUMENTS. That will actually improve the campaign.

10.  So, now only after all drum-beating, she has realized that, “That will actually improve the campaign.” Great on Friday, that is the last day of your campaign.

I wish MOTHER GODDESS would bless all of you with all prosperity and good future!

Vedaprakash

27-11-2015.

For this, she could not respond, but, banned me from participating in the campaign expressing views, questioning their way and methodology of the campaign. So, this has become my last response.

Ironically, they talk about rights of freedom of thinking, expression, speech and so on, but when others come to think, express or talk, they ban!

What type of attitude is this?

Is this, the way of having dialogue or group discussion?

Is this the mode of exhibiting their tolerance?

I understand that she has extended the campaign till December 4, 2015!

“Barbaric crimes should definitely attract barbaric models of punishment”[1]: In a strongly-worded order, the Madras High Court had earlier this month recommended castration as punishment to child sex abusers observing that “barbaric crimes should definitely attract barbaric models of punishment”[2]. Justice N Kirubakaran, in a recent order against a British national, made the recommendation to the Centre saying that castration would achieve “magical results” in preventing child abuse. “When law is ineffective and incapable of addressing the menace, this court cannot keep its hands folded and remain a silent spectator, unmoved and oblivious of the recent happenings of horrible blood-curdling gang rapes of children in various parts of India,” he said[3] castration for child rapists would fetch “magical” results in preventing child abuse. The judge said this while dismissing a petition by the accused, a British national, who sought the quashing of the proceedings against him in a lower court. The judge further said that “though the suggestion of castration looks barbaric, barbaric crimes should definitely attract barbaric models of punishment” and the very thought of the punishment should deter the culprit from committing the offence. Anticipating a reaction to his judgment, he said: “Those activists should first exhibit sympathy with, and support to, the victims of such crimes by visiting and consoling them at the hour of crisis instead of having misplaced sympathy with the perpetrators under the usual banner of ‘human rights violation’. They must remember that ‘human rights’ is not a term restricted to, and reserved only, for offenders.” He also directed the Union government to decide on introducing compulsory sex education for high school students. “Denying youngsters correct and scientific information would lead [them] to acquire half-baked and incorrect knowledge from other sources, like Internet, friends and movies, creating misconception and doubts.”

The accused paedophile has been from Britain[4]: Taking note of the number of cases of foreigners abusing children, the judge referred to the International Child Protection Certificate (ICPC) developed by the United Kingdom to protect children and said the visa form issued by the Indian Embassy had to be amended with the provision of a column requiring the applicants to give the details of convictions, actions warranting reprimands and impending cases. According to the prosecution in the present case, the British national, had sexually abused a 15-year old student in 2011, after befriending the family by promising the mother that he would support her son’s education. The accused eventually took the Class 9 boy to Delhi, where he allegedly abused the victim, including attempts to have sexual intercourse. After the Briton left for London, with the help of the Justice and Care Organisation, the victim filed a complaint on the incident, following which a case was registered under relevant sections of the IPC and Juvenile Justice Protection Act. After the Judicial Magistrate took cognisance of the case in 2012, following the filing of the final report, the accused moved the court seeking to quash the proceedings against him. Following the issuance of the non-bailable warrant against him, a red alert was issued against the accused by the Interpol. The accused contended that the notice was preventing him from coming to India to defend the case. The judge has dismissed his plea to quash the proceedings against him but stayed the red corner notice so that he can come to India to appear before the trial court and face the case.

Abha singh and Pramila Nesargi

The opinion of Abha Singh, social activist[5]: Welcoming the Madras High Court’s suggestion of considering castration as punishment for child rapists, two social activists on 26-10-2015, Monday said that the suggestion made to the Centre was apt as the existing Indian law is unable to protect the child from abuses. “Child abuse cases in India are increasing. The Madras High Court in one such case has come up strongly and said that the Indian law is unable to prevent child abuses. The conviction rate in child abuse cases is barely 2.4 per cent whereas the offences against children have increased by 400 per cent,” social activist Abha Singh told ANI. “When rapists are going scot-free and paedophiles are going scot-free, a Madras High Court judge has rightly suggested that there should be castration. Many other countries like UK, USA, Polland and many other countries subscribe to castration and it has been seen that it has been successful in checking the paedophiles,” she added.

What Pramila Nesargi opined[6]: Another social activist and lawyer Pramila Nesargi echoing similar sentiments expressed her delight with the Madras High Court judge’s suggestion. “I always advocated that castration can be the only remedy because the existing law is not creating any fear in the minds of the people. People may call it barbaric but judge has openly said that barbaric punishment should be given for barbaric crimes,” Nesargi told ANI. However, when such cases were reported earlier, the activists were not responding. In Indian society, the social aberrations have been introduced or created due to external factors, distorting the existing social system and institutions. The offenders have been escaping under the newly created laws with the crimes committed before the enactment.  The sociologists, psychologists and other researchers opine based on these incidences, which are happening in a country with 1.2 billion population. As so many external and internal factors have been disturbing, the people also get affected. Allowing modern evils at one side, supporting them under the guise of  human rights and so on and crying wolf about eroding moral values have been the characteristics of  the commentators on Indian society.

Dilemma of Indian society caught in many social issues: In India, most of the child-rapists or paedophiles have been foreigners. The number of child abuse cases has increased from 38,172 in 2012 to 58,224 in 2013 and to 89,423 in 2014. Incidentally in 2013, at the height of the protests in the capital over the Nirbhaya case, Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa had similarly called for death or chemical castration for rapists through amendments in Central laws[7]. As Bangalore has been prone to foreigners satisfying their needs, issues have been alive in the case of pubs, pub-dancing, soliciting and other activities, which might be viewed and interpreted differently. Of the 51 cases of child abuse under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act in the special court for children in Bengaluru, only four have ended in convictions. More than 90% charged under the Pocso Act are acquitted due to lack of evidence and when witnesses turn hostile[8]. Not that evidences were not there, but, the manipulators could influence the involved processes. As example, it is mentioned that children migrating from Tamil Nadu and northern India to the city are the main victims of child abuse whose cases are tried in the session court. Most of these children live with their mothers and fall prey to step-fathers and other offendes. Most abusers are between 25 years and 50 years. The youngest victim so far is just a year old. But, this could be the situation for all Indian children. The highest number of FIRs has been registered in Rajasthan followed by Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Kerala according to data available with the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR). The number of convictions is only 166 that is 2.4% of the total cases registered while in 389 cases accused were acquitted[9].

Madras / Chennai has been haven for paedophiles: For inexplicable reasons or otherwise, Chennai has seen many international paedophiles got arrested. The locals have also been aiding and abetting such offenders and promoting social crimes. The manipulation of cyber-space has been revealed in many acts. Child rights activists in Chennai have forced authorities to shut down two Facebook pages in Tamil created to attract pedophiles in May 2015. The pages, called ‘chinna ponnu karpazhipom‘ and ‘chinna ponnu veriyargal’ which in Tamil roughly translates to ‘young girl having sex’, had photographs of young girls with a number of sexually explicit comments.

They were spotted by social activists who immediately contacted the authorities to take it down, CNN-IBN reports[10]. 53-year-old Eric Martin alias Jack Fernandes , convicted for raping nine girls in 1998,  had gained entry into India through Nepal and was staying in Madhavaram in Chennai. He had been on the run ever since he was convicted in France and was on Interpol’s Wanted list[11], but arrested in Chennai on November 17, 2010.

Patrick Matthews, a 62-year-old UK national who was accused of sexually abusing several boys of St George Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School in the city between 2003 and 2006, has been arrested by the UK police in August 2009. Sources told TOI that the police arrested Matthews from the UK on Thursday night based on evidences collected from Chennai[12]. Wilhelmus Weijdeveld, the 56-year-old Dutch national now in prison facing charges of child sexual abuse and supplying child pornography, had found that India suited him best’ and even filed for citizenship as early as in 1999, thwarting the attempts of the police to drive him away from the country. He even filed a writ petition against the state of Tamil Nadu, after the Mamallapuram police asked him to leave the country. It was only after three years, on May 02, 2002, that he was arrested for sexually abusing five boys in an orphanage near Mamallapuram. Out on bail, Wilhelmus was arrested again from his Choolaimedu den in Chennai on November 7, 2009 following an Interpol tip-off that he was uploading child pornography on the internet[13].  These are given only for illustrative purpose, as many cases have been reported regularly, and most of them been from the orphanages run by the missionaries in and around Chennai. Therefore, the Judge must have been aware of such incidences. Stringent legislation was the need of the hour to penalise child sexual abuse via the Internet, said Chief Justice of India, Justice P. Sathasivam[14], while inaugurating  two day Southern regional conference on Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO Act, 2012)’, in Chennai, in November 2013.  Therefore, castration as punishment to them, as proposed has been the logical conclusion.

Cricket corruption conceals Congress corruption

All of sudden, the scams of all sorts, the corruptions of all categories are forgotten within days.

Anna Hazare, Arvind Kejriwal, Ramdev and host of other anti-corruption activists go unheard.

We see only two faces – Srivivasan and Kapil Sibal!

Of course, both appear to resemble in many ways.

Politics, Cricket, Share market and Gambling in India

Vedaprakash

This, I posted in www.indiainrweacts.com and other forums, but missing. In fact, the www.indiainrweacts.com has removed / blacked out all my postings. Now, I started salvaging or taking out from internet, backup and other sources, as the same pattern is found even today in 2012. Actually, today I searched for my article on “Sex, Drugs, and Cricket” the nexus etc., but I came across this. Therefore, I am posting in www.vedaprakash.wordpress.com withlout any changes.

Indian politics, cricket and gambling: Now a new ugly face of Indian politics having nexus with gambling and underworld is revealed in the recent betting on political parties and the PMs. The close links of Sharad Pawar with cricket mafia and sugar dons and that of Manmohan Singh with bookies and financial gamblers are coming out. The heavy investment in shares and manipulation of Indian economy and the sudden discussion about black money investment in Swiss banks, the BJP’s accusation and the Congress denial etc., are to be understood in the backdrop. The newspapers and TV-channels have started unfolding the gambling and betting of mafia-bookies and changing their so-called “the most-scientific exit-polls”[1].

Psephologists and bookies: The nexus between so-called psephologists and bookies are exposed in the Indian elections[2]. Psephologist or the professionals engaged in studying the election patterns and deviations. They make use of tools like past election’s facts and figures and public opinion polls to arrive at a conclusion. Their scope of job mainly encompasses analysis of aspects like trends in voting, swings in votes; number of votes polled or percentage of total votes polled translating into the number of seats in the government. They also try to find out the answers of questions like how much of percent swing in the votes may lead to change in the government. Hence Psephologists are expected to play a constructive role in any democratic set up, but in India, they are aiding and abetting with the punters, gamblers, underworld dons and spoiling the democracy through the anti-Indian media.

The myth of psephology in the “five-phased elections”: The five-phased polls spreading over a month from April 14 to May 13 2009 has been a political farce, cleverly manipulated by the Congress and its slave Election Commission[3]. When Gopalswamy found, he was not only kicked out immediately, but replaced with three “chamchas” under the guise of secularism. What is the right margin of error to employ?

The experts discuss about errors in the sampling as follows: The most common approach is to use a margin such that in 19 polls out of 20, the gap between the real figure and the poll estimate will be smaller than the sampling error. If the poll samples 1000 people, its sampling error will be 3 per cent either way. With a sample of 2000, the sampling error falls to plus or minus 2.2 per cent. The sampling error is a factor when comparing two polls is larger still, since both polls have their margins of error. Changes in polls from one week to another are even more error-prone than the polls themselves., thus when the polls are phased with gaps and such periods are subjected to heavy propagandas leashed out through media and the ruling Congress misusing the official machineries, where is the political democracy or democratic polity in India?

Gamblers are powerful than voters in choosing PM or the government of their choice: The Indians have been consistently voting to BJP and Congress for the last five general elections. It has been the Congress aiding and abetting with other parties preventing BJP to rule. They used the “dummies” — V. P. Singh, Deve Gowda, I. K. Gujaral. Chandrasekhar and so on and therefore, the lust for becoming a PM has been haunting and daunting the small players or great spoilers and they start bargains with such “devil” sitting in their minds. They want to a PM just for a day, a week, a month or a year — that is all. They are not worried about the so-called ideologies, principles, and
people. Such political lust is varied only in gradation.

Note the media’s discussion on the choice of PMs:

1.  First, they discussed about the powerful and weak PMs.

2.  Instead of “two”, they tried to pit more against the “two”.

3.  The comparison was stretched from “two” to “three” to “four”.

4.  Ultimately, the discussion has been stooped down to the level of who is the worst, horrible and nasty PM.

The trend of elections from 1984 to 2009: In 1984, Advani emerged as PM and the American papers too projected him so. But unfortunately, Indira Gandhi was assassinated and the Congress swept the pools with the Rajiv Gandhi becoming a PM. However, Rajiv was plagued with corruption and thus, in 1989 V. P., Singh and Chandrasekhar were made PMs. However, after the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi in 1991, P. V. Narasinha Rao became PM.

The entering of Sonia Gandhi into politics and the rise of BJP coincided and the anti-Congress politicians tried to support BJP. However, the rise of BJP during the period 1991 to 1998 cannot be denied. Only fear of the rise of BJP started the “others” accusing BJP as “communal”, in such ploy, the Congress happily joined without any shame, because, other than Congress, there cannot be any other most-communal party in India, perhaps only next to IUML, MIM, Kerala Congress etc. However, using such secular- communal card, they have been trying to keep BJP out.

Keeping BJP out is anti-Indian undemocratic polity[4]: Any impartial observer, analyst and even common Indian can notice, why all other parties have been ganged up against BJP preventing it from rule? When their number of MPs have been increasing (2 to 181), their period of reign has been increasing (13 days to 13 months to five years), popularity increasing and almost all other parties have aligned with BJP in the pre-poll and post-poll alliances, how other political parties could isolate BJP as communal and they are secular? There is totally wrong in such propaganda being carried out. However, it is stranger to note that BJP has not been pointing out such lacuna, when opportunity came recently in the media many times. In the speeches of Divijaya Singh, Praful Patel, Kapil Sibal, Niteshkumar and others, the point was clearly brought out, but the BJP has failed to take it.

Note: Here, it is not that the “others” are becoming majority to rule India, as they have no common ideologies, but in fact, mostly, they have been the communal, secessionist, anti-National[5], communist and other forces acting against India and Indian interests. Therefore, it is unfortunate that Congress has been supporting such forces and that is why the Communists are emboldened to get ambition of rule India![6].

1% cannot be the difference between Advani and Manmohan: Definitely, when Advani was emerging a powerful PM, the Congress and the media started manipulation. Now the gamblers have joined after psephologists. CNN-IBN psephologist was making blunder after blunder by giving 16% to Advani, 15% to Manmohan etc., as “popular / acceptable PM”. It is not known how the difference could be only one percent. As the groups start realigning and just expecting the real figures, definitely, they are afraid and launched their attack through gamblers picked up by the media and hence the nexus is proved beyond doubt.

If the gamblers, bookies and brokers are powerful than voters, than such politicians could be hanged instead of appreciated as “economic experts” and so on. That behind Manmohan Singh such a devil, monster and evil forces are acting to spoil Indians, then Indians should hang such monsters, instead of placing them on the ruling thrones. In satta market, UPA return near certain[7]: With just a few hours left for declaration of the final results of the 15th Lok Sabha elections, punters in the capital are still giving an edge to the ruling Congress-led UPA government, with a tally of 220 seats, and are confident it will form the next government with a comfortable majority.  Congress improved its tally among bettors who are now giving it 162 seats, against an earlier estimate of 142 during the fourth phase. The rate punters are offering for Congress is 30 paise, which has come down from 63 paise on offer earlier. For UPA government to make a comeback, the punters are offering 32 paise.

This means that for every one rupee you bet on Congress, you stand to earn Rs 1.30, while for UPA government, one stands to win Rs 1.32,” said a punter.

BJP-led NDA is far behind in the game of odds”, you stand to make Rs 3.10 paise if BJP returns 145 seats, while for NDA forming a government, the rates offered are Rs 1.50, which means you gain Rs 2.50 on ever rupee you bet,” he added.

The rates are likely to see a violent swing on the morning of May 16, as the counting begins. “We will be taking bets on parties and candidate till 10am and will close the game after that,” added a source. Insiders also betting on factors like Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa being wooed by the Congress. Speculation soared after Nitish’s demand for special status to Bihar on Friday. Punters who were earlier wagering on Congress to take Delhi 6-1, are now saying it is likely to sweep the polls. Expectedly, on Friday the odds against West Delhi’s BJP candidate Jagdish Mukhi climbed to 80 paise, from 35 paise a few days ago. An amount of Rs 1,200 crore is at stake, but a large amount has also been diverted to the Indian Premier League, the punter added.

Satta market: Manmohan still tops list of PM hopefuls[8]: With only two days remaining for the Lok Sabha results, there is heavy betting on the fate of political parties and individual candidates PM Manmohan Singh addresses a press conference in Ludhiana. “Bets worth several thousand crore rupees have already been laid so far, and the tempo is likely to go up in the next couple of days. Mumbai has created a record of sorts with a punter — who is in the real estate business — betting as much as Rs 30 crore on different candidates, parties and their combinations,” a leading bookie told TOI on Wednesday.

  • Manmohan Singh continues to be the hot favourite for prime ministership
with the bhav (odds) on him being 60 paise. This means that every rupee bet on Singh will fetch the bettor Rs 1.60 if he is indeed re-elected PM. If the bookies’ odds are any indication, L K Advani, who is leading the NDA alliance, has very little chance of becoming PM.
  • The bhav on him is Rs 2.50.
  • In fact, some bookies are also offering bhav of Rs 6 on his quitting politics before May 31.
  • NCP head honcho Sharad Pawar is an extremely dark horse (unfancied contender in betting parlance) with the bhav on his becoming PM being Rs 50.
  • The Congress-led UPA is backed to secure 151 seats at even bhav, meaning every rupee bet fetches an extra in return.
  • For the BJP-led NDA, it is even odds for the party winning 122 seats.
  • There is speculation that Lalu Prasad, Ram Vilas Paswan and Mulayam Singh Yadav may face surprise defeats, “the bhav on such upsets is Rs 3, Rs 1.50 and Rs 1.40 respectively.
  • The AIADMK, led by J.Jayalalithaa, is commanding even bhav for 25-plus seats.
  • Even bhav is also on offer for the CPM securing 35 seats.

Satta Bazaar (satta market) works with IPL Cricket and Elections in India: It is unfortunate that Indian cricket is now a big place for sutta market. Here is the details about how it works in India. According to economic times the satta bazaar estimates that at least Rs 20,000 cr will be wagered on the IPL’s 59 matches over a period of 44
days. People of India are wasting their time to watch all long matches of IPL and helps indirectly to satorias to make big money out of it.

How it works- suppose before the cricket match between A and B, you think that B will win the match (B is known as weaker team). Most of other people guess that team A will win. After balencing of demand and supply, suppose for team A odds is 100:25 and for team B, odds is 100:400. If team B wins you will get 400 Rs without spending your 100 Rs. (you have to first deposit 100 Rs, you will get 400+100= 500 Rs). I

f team A wins you have to loose 100 Rs (you will get nothing). If team A wins, the people who have bet on A will get 25 Rs without spending 100 Rs. It is well known that the practice of satta bazar is illegal in India. I would say, stay away from it, otherwise you will sure loose your money and time. Now, you just replace A and B with Congress and BJP, the secret is out!

The Indians voting for BJP are not fools: Definitely, the Indians voting for BJP are not fools, as they want BJP to come to power keeping the powerful India in mind. Therefore, BJP should convince other Indians, who have not been voting for BJP that they are really for India by action. If they get any opportunity, they should prove by their action that they are for the Indians and prepared to make India a powerful nation with economic prosperity and self-sufficiency.
