Gandhi Congress conducted Cow-slaughter in public in God’s own country Kerala with highest litracy and Beef-fest also! (1)

Democratic Youth Federation of India - cow-killing and beef eating Communists

DYFI national president Mohammed Riyaz, led the protest: Police in Kannur in north Kerala on 28-05-2017 (Sunday) booked 16 Youth Congress activists who slaughtered a cow in public and cooked its meat and distributed it[1]. The brazen act was committed in front of a huge crowd in Kannur Saturday during the ‘Beef Fest’ held by the Left and Congress parties in Kerala to protest against the Center’s ban[2]. “We will eat beef to show our protest against the central government. We want to tell this to Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” said DYFI national president Mohammed Riyaz, who led the protest[3].  Deccan Chronicle captioned apprpopriately[4], “Youth Congress conducts public cow slaughter in Kerala”, yet Congress has to reckon for the consequences[5]. Actually, how and why one gets an idea of “beaf-fest”, beef-the cow meat eating carnival is thought of and organized immediately? Why the choice of beef and not any other meat or flesh? Thus, the radical elements wanted to show off that it has been a communal protest and not secular or otherwise. An embarrassed Congress sought to distance itself, saying the party will not support anyone who has violated the law, but a Youth Congress activist who led the protest said he had no regrets[6]. They were charged under IPC Section 428 and section (ii) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960[7]. Several youth groups of the ruling CPI (M)-led LDF and Congress-headed UDF opposition have organised these festivals to protest against the Centre’s recent decision to ban sale and purchase of cattle from animal markets for slaughter, a move criticised by several states. But Saturday (28-05-2017)’s slaughter seems to have backfired.

28-05-2017 beef-fest Kannur CPM minister participated

The CPI(M)-led DYFI and SFI were in the forefront of the protests: “The Hindu” reported as follows: “With every political party barring the BJP coming out against the Central notification banning sale of cattle for slaughter in animal markets, protests erupted in several parts of Kerala on Saturday, many of these places witnessing ‘beef festivals’ organised by student and youth activists. The CPI (M)-led DYFI and SFI were in the forefront of the protests, but the Opposition Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) was also in the fray, holding marches, burning effigies and organising public kitchens where beef was cooked and served to activists and passersby[8]. Among those who came out against the Central directive was Congress Working Committee (CWC) member A.K. Antony, who, while addressing a meeting to mark the 53rd death anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, called upon party workers not to attach any importance to the Central notification and ‘tear it and throw it into the dustbin’[9].

28-05-2017 beef-fest Kannur-Bindu Krishna - Bhagwati Kuzh-beef

  • In Thiruvananthapuram, the agitation was led by the DYFI and SFI. Addressing activists, DYFI national president Mohamed Riyaz said, “We will cook beef and eat beef and also protest against the Central government. That is what we want to tell Narendra Modiji.”
  • In Kochi, the DYFI-SFI activists were joined by Tourism and Cooperation Minister Kadakampally Surendran and CPI (M) district secretary and former Rajya Sabha member P. Rajeev, who partook in the beef festival, the former accusing the Central government of cutting at the very root of people’s right to eat what they wanted. Youth Congress activists also took out a march against the Central measure.
  • At Kannur, Youth congress activists publicly butchered a cow to protest against the central notification while in Thodupuzha in Idukki district, protesters took out a march with the head of a buffalo[10].
  • In Kollam, Congress activists led by District Congress Committee (DCC) president Bindu Krishna cooked beef in front of the DCC office. The Centre, she said, had no right to interfere with the livelihood of lakhs of people. “This is nothing but a intrusion into the fundamental rights of the citizens of this country,” she said[11]. Ironically, this lady also participates in Bhagawati Amman festival to boil Pongal! So the Kerala secularism works differently. She may talk about Gandhi giving discourse about non-violence and also cook and eat beef.

The Hindu also added a photograph with the details: Minister for Tourism Kadakampally Surendran (right) and CPI(M) Ernakulam district secretaray P Rajeev participatin in a beef festival organised by SFI in front of Ernakulam Town Hall on Saturday to protest the Centre’s ban on sale and slaughter of cattle. 28-05-2017 beef-fest Kannur- 2

How long the antics, gimmicks and tricks could go on by the radicals and ideologists?: “Beef-fests are held to protest ban on sale of cattle for slaughtering cow in Kerala market” says news report[12]. The sale of cattle, cow-slaughter, sale of meat are different aspects, but, they try to confuse all without reading the Act properly[13]. In Tamilnadu, the DK used to perform “Unnum vradham” (eating penance) in front of or against the persons, who are engaded in “Unna vradham” (fasting)! Here, in Kerala, “the Go’s own country” and with 100% literacy, beef-eating festivals are held live not against any “non-beef eating festivals”, as if all meats are eaten, but, beef is not eaten. None would engage in prostitution, if prostitution is banned or restricted or regulated. I do not find anyone who protests against “closure of wineshops” drink! Therefore, if the CPIM and Mohammedan groups start doing antics of cooking beef on the roads, they can do all on the roads as a part of their demo. Perhaps, they want to repeat what the British tried to do that resulted in 1857. In other worrds, they are trying to create tension between the groups and start run rioting. With the ideological expertise and the subversive activities, they are capable of doing that.

Rahul condemn beef eating

Congress caught into dilemma of Cow-slaughter politics: Congress leader Mahathma Gandhi had been against Cow-slaughter and promoter of “Ramrajya”. However, Sonia Congress has become “secular” with the Mohammedan and Christian support. Sonia herself is seen as “Christian” and foreign by many Indians, though, rarely such views are publicized. Sharad Pawar, Jayallita and others openly named her as “Sonia Maino”. Recently, in UP, Congress badly lost its political power, with the rise of BJP with more than absolute majority. Thus, definitely, Congress cannot pay heavy price in this issue. Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday condemned the public slaughter of a calf in Kerala by Youth Congress workers and said the party did not support it[14]. “What happened in Kerala yesterday is thoughtless, barbaric and completely unacceptable to me and the Congress Party. I strongly condemn the incident,” Rahul said in a tweet[15]. Kamudi another local daily dubbed Rahul saying that youth congress members are brainless[16]. Whether they would be thoughtless or brainless[17], they had obviously colluded with the other radical elements of Kannur. Evidently, he was advised to do so, as otherwise, the Congress could loose whatever support it has in the “cow belt”, as now, it has lost ground there. Thus, in a face saving manner, the comdemnation has come from him, instead of Sonia Gandhi, the President![18]

Preventing Modi to become PM, opposing BJP and breaking NDA

Preventing Modi to become PM, opposing BJP and breaking NDA

Vedaprakash

The anti-Modi rhetoric of old partners of NDA: All most all non-BJP parties except the new allies have started their chorus of “Preventing Modi to become PM, opposing BJP and breaking NDA” one way or the other. The moment Narendra Modi was announced as the PM candidate for BJP, the first party to break from the NDA alliance was JD(S) with the rising rhetoric pitch of Nitish Kumar against Modi. Ironically, he was with the NDA for 17 years and appreciated Modi also. He was suggesting that he might accept L. K. Advani as the PM candidate but not Modi, as he would not be accepted by the secular partners. But, the BJP proceeded with the candidature of Modi, in spite of the fact that even Advani did not like it earlier, but had to accept.

Modi – polarizing or taking NDA to win: Then suggestions started circulating that Modi would dominate the scene till NDA gets majority and then Advani would be made PM so that NDA would get maximum majority. Such idea was nurtured in the TV debates usually carried on with the selected ideologues. Even Chandangupta was seen accepting such proportion in such forced debates. That is Modi would be exploited for attracting new voters, youth and polarize, thereby, some Muslim votes also, but if enough seats are won, then Advani would be declared as PM, so that through after poll alliance, more parties could be brought into NDA.

Mission 272+ and the reality: Some media carried on Narendra Modi’s ‘Mission 272+’ as follows[1]:

  1. As Modi is likely to focus on Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, which account for 210 Lok Sabha seats and if BJP could win more seats that what they had won a paltry 31 seats out of 210 in 2009, then, they ould in a better position. Thus, BJP has to perform hard and opinion polls predict that the BJP is likely to grab at least 100 seats from these areas.

  1. Of course, Modi could do well in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Delhi and Karnataka, which account for 138 members to the Lok Sabha. Here, as BJP is directly pitted against the Congress in most of the seats it could have an edge over Congress.

  1. Modi has already joined the ranks of Jyoti Basu, Mohanlal Sukhadia, Sheila Dikshit and Naveen Patnaik in leading his party to victory in a state three times in a row.  In 2014, the combined force of AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa and BJD chief Naveen Patnaik may influence Modi’s fortunes a lot. It is now for the smaller parties to decide which way to go, and to settle their priorities, local or national. Tamil Nadu, Odhisha, Punjab, Haryana, Assam and the North-East account for 118 LS seats. Modi already has a rapport with J Jayalalithaa and Purno Sangma, while a large section of BJD is also reportedly keen to join the NDA.

  1. Many opinion polls have already predicted a positive swing for the BJP in Uttar Pradesh and the elevation of master strategist Amit Shah has become an icing on the cake. There is one school of thought that argues that the party is waiting for an opportune time to flag Modi’s caste antecedent but it is caught in its usual dilemma of whether a casteist projection would conflict with his popular image as a development and good governance votary.

  1. Modi cautioned that unless the BJP fine-tuned its booth management, it could end up with more misses than hits. The campaign panel chief wants that the Delhi brass step out of their confines, visit each state, sit with the leaders and office-bearers, hold detailed discussions and then come up with a state-specific draft. It is now-or-never scenario for the BJP.

The BJP political masters started their campaign with confidence, of course, with strategy. They moved their coins attracting partners step by step, as they knew very well about the counter-attack of their opponents. Particularly, the AAP posed a spoiler and evidently aiding and abetting the corrupt congress. Unlike other parties BJP has to fight the battle within and outside also due to changes envisaged. Thus, the regional mathematics was learned ahead before declaring anything openly. Through mediators, BJP approached small but strong regional players in mobilizing numbers[2].

BJP is gaining in south India again: Contrary to the political predictions and secular-communal debates etc., more regional parties have been attracted to either Modi or BJP. Definitely, in Tamilnadu it scored a victory by roping up alliance with DMDK, MDMK, PMK andIJK[3]. In AP, TDP and others are ready to join NDA and because of the Telengana tangle, they have been calculative about the seats and the sentiments of Telugu people. Even, in Kerala, it is reported that the percentage of BJP is increasing and in Trivandrum, it could create some wonders. Thus, suddenly media starts realizing that Modi is helping NDA to win alliance from south[4] to north! When Dravidian parties other than DMK and AIADMK are accepting Modi, why not others is the mute question.

The Comedy play of AAP: After the resignation of AAP on Feb.14, 2014, the political scenario was clear with the major parties facing battle straight. However, the regional parties posed threat both to UPA and NDA and now with the intrusion of AAP in the north. Though AAP posed as anti-corruption crusader, its short-lived 49 days rule exposed the AAP-Cong tactful alliance. AAP adopted hot and cool policy with Congress, but very aggressive towards BJP, thus, creating a picture that it is supporting Congress indirectly. After losing power, it starts attacking BJP more and almost forgetting the list of multi-crore scams. Aravind Kejariwal was just creating nuisance to BJP by going to Gujarat and contesting from Varanasi.

The media game-plan of Instigating Muslims against Muslims: The media experts went on approaching Muslim leaders of all parties getting their expressed opinion that they would accept Modi as the PM candidate, as he was responsible for the 2002 riots. This point is harped upon again and again by the TV-channel pundits to corner the BJP spokesman. It is even suggested that if Modi apologize for 2002 riots, Muslims might turn towards him. Rajnath was reportedly apologized for that and it was expected that Modi would follow the suit. But immediately, the Maualanas were interviewed and opinion was created that even if Mody apologize, they would not vote for Modi.

Inconsistency of the Muslim leaders towards Modi: Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind general secretary Maulana Mehmood Madani told, “In Gujarat, Jamiat workers on the ground have told me that in several Assembly segments, Muslims voted for Modi. There is a perceptible change of heart and circumstances are different now. I agree the times are changing. Muslims in Gujarat are economically better off than in several states which have so-called secular governments in power,” he told Rahul Kanwal in an exclusive interview on Seedhi Baat[5]. However, later clarified that he declined to either reject or endorse Modi’s possible candidature as Prime Minister[6]. In October 2012, as he called Modi a “tyrant”, the BJP tried to ban him to enter Gujarat[7].

Azam Khan type of Anti-Modism: On 28-01-2014, Azam Khan alarmed that there was a big conspiracy going on to divide Muslims … If Muslims were divided, Narendra Modi would form the next government (at the Centre) and therefore they have to remain united, he said while addressing a conference of madrassa managers and principals in Lucknow[8]. As usual he called Modi “murderer”. Many times, his angry was turned towards Amit Shah also. Harping upon the 2002 riots, it is claimed that Muslims would never forgive Modi and vote for him and therefore, BJP cannot get the votes of Muslims.

The tirade of Mayavati against Modi: On 21-02-2014, Mayawati told that they will put their “entire strength to prevent Narendra Modi from becoming the Prime Minister. It is in interest of the country to prevent the BJP from coming to power (in the next elections),” Ms. Mayawati told reporters outside Parliament[9]. She claimed that minority community members were apprehensive about  Modi. “If Modi wins, it will give a boost to the communal forces in the country,” the BSP supremo said, adding BJP is not trustworthy as “it says something and does something else”. But she was with BJP in forming government in UP twice.

AAP, SP and others turning against Modi: On 16-03-2014, BJP leader and Lok Sabha MP  from Hamirpur (Himachal Pradesh) Anurag Thakur on Sunday criticized Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal for leading an unruly party and helping Congress in its effort to stop Narendra Modi from becoming the Prime Minister[10]. On 31-03-2014, Modi himself accused that Congress was conspiring to prevent him from becoming PM[11]. On the same day, Mulayam asserted that “SP will not let BJP succeeded in Lok Sabha polls and make Narendra Modi the next PM. If they (BJP) get defeated in Uttar Pradesh, Modi will never become PM,” Asking Muslims to remain alert, he said BJP and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) had close relationship and Congress’ role was also suspicious as far as providing facilities to Muslim community was concerned[12].

Non-BJP parties dictating about the PM candidate: Ironically, the non-BJP parties were suggesting their choice of Prime Minister candidate, if they wanted to be with NDA. Shiv Sena was suggesting that Sushma Swaraj would be an ideal choice of PM. Then it was changed to suggest that Sushma Swaraj might be better choice, yet some suggested Arun Jaitely. But, on 22-03-2014 Prakash Sigh Badal unwittingly declared that Arun Jaitely would be the Deputy PM[13]. Recently also, one BJP minister of MP said that Sushma could be the next PM[14]. On 25-03-2014, Even Digvijay of Congress also suggested this[15], when they never declared who was their PM candidate. Of course, Mulayam Singh, Mamta Banerjee have been telling that they would not allow Modi to become PM.

Ex-MPs, MLAs of Congress and other parties joining BJP: In spite of the domination of Modi, definitely, some regional parties started aligning with BJP forming partners of NDA. Thus, the apprehension made earlier that except Akali Dal all others are going away from NDA proves wrong. Not only that, even former ministers, MPs, MLAs of other parties like Congress, JD (S) etc have started joining BJP. One way, it has become headache for BJP, as they were not only criticizing Modi with harsh language or hate-speech, some of them have been of tainted category. And the BJP has to pay heavy price, if they come to power.

BJP is different, Modi is different – new argument of the media: Then started the argument that BJP has become Modi-party, one-man party and no other has any say in BJP. This is the media-floated argument put forward now, but there are few takers. The politicians know very well who is controlling whom and how the parties, leaders of parties and others work and function at the time of winning and losing elections. But why the media play doublegame against BJP is not known. At one side, they project that BJP / NDA has been gaining vote %, Modi the favourite PM and so on , on the other side, they also accuse that BJP is sticking to the communal agenda, Amit Shah is doing that in UP and so on.

Modi could win and get votes from all: The conservative but posed as progressive media also slowly accepted the Modi-factor accepted that there would be a change in voting pattern with reversals also. Thus, “the Hindu” (March 21.2014) reported[16], “A large-scale attitudinal survey shows that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance has gained significantly across most parts of the country as well as among most social groups. The only exceptions are the Scheduled Tribes and Muslims.” Thus, finally, the media has to accept that Modi would be acceptable to all and people would vote for him.

How Irfan Habib as as “eminent-elite” historian could attend the political meet conducted under the guise of “Convention for People’s Unity Against Communalism”?

November 3, 2013

How Irfan Habib as as “eminent-elite” historian could attend the political meet conducted under the guise of “Convention for People’s Unity Against Communalism”?

Fall of Comrades - Irfan Habib a witness 2013

Political and secular / communal nexus proved: The Weekly Organ of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), has duly acknowledged the services of the Comrade Irfan Habib and provided details as follows: “The fact that the Convention was inaugurated by one of India’s most renowned historians and accomplished scholar, Prof Irfan Habib, by itself sent the message that the unique evolution and growth of the `idea of India’ cannot be allowed to be thwarted by the communal forces, but the people only could not identify as to who are communal and secular[1]. It added that, “Eminent historian Professor Irfan Habib presided over the Convention. Addressing the Convention, he stressed the importance of coming together of all the leaders with influence on crores of people, on a single platform against communalism. He recalled how the communal forces killed Mahatma Gandhi for trying to see that communal amity is maintained and warned that these very forces are raising their head again”, so he becomes “leader of leaders” to address and advice[2]. That is ironically, the Comrades fell down on the stage in front of everybody!

Convention for People’s Unity Against Communalism.2

Secularism versus Communalism: So it is evident that again, the so-called debate of “Secularism-communalism” has started. Irfan Habib himself has been accused of behaving like “Communal Muslim” by none other than his old friend and Comrade M G S Narayanan. These two eminent, elite, renowned historians and accomplished scholars had fought with each other for many “historical issues” within and outside ICHR, IHC etc. In spite of their 100% pure secular brand standards, why they should have questioned the other about integrity, honesty, uprightness etc., in handing “historical affairs”. ICHR Controversy 2004 University today When they could not keep their things clean without any controversies, how they could join corrupt politicians and sit with them on the stage? None questioned how that one of the eminent, elite, renowned historians and accomplished scholars with their 100% pure secular brand standards should share with Mullayam Singh Yadav, and other politicians charged with many corruption cases?

MGS Narayanan ICHR sacked Dec 2003

Is it correct for Irfan Habib to inaugurate, attend and lecture at the Third-Front Conference: These elite, eminent and belligerent historians always cry that history should not be polluted on any account, no communalism, casteism, racism, sectarianism, medievalism,  parochialism and so on. They have been criticizing, condemning and even disparaging rightist, right wing, R S S, V H P, B J P and others as they spread communalism, communal virus, communal hatred and so on. During the IHC sessions they have been going on posing as secular, balanced, unbiased, historian doing good for the country.

Convention for People’s Unity Against Communalism-section of the audience

Historio-politicians and politico-historians should be made accountable: In the case of politicians, now people want that they should be sanitized, cleaned and disciplined with various Acts, Rules etc. Whenever, any politician comes under cloud, he is asked to keep him away from the politics and then come back, when, he is given clean chit. In the same way, why these blatantly political historians siding and hobnobbing with the politicians, acting agents and witnesses of communal organizations and Wakf Boards should not be asked to get out of the forums like ICHR, IHC etc., and then come, if they are cleared off of their acts of violation, contempt court proceedings, misappropriation charges etc[3].

What Irfan Habib was doing at the “Convention for People’s Unity Against Communalism”?

October 31, 2013

What Irfan Habib was doing at the “Convention for People’s Unity Against Communalism”?

How and why anti-Modi, anti-BJP propaganda should be anti-Hindu?

How and why anti-Modi, anti-BJP propaganda should be anti-Hindu?

Comrade historian joins the “Third Front”: Inaugurating the convention, noted historian Irfan Habib, an Indian Marxist historian of ancient and medieval India, talked of how during the Partition there were enough instances of Hindu-Muslim amity. But he acknowledged the secular character of the country was hit by events like the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and the 2002 violence in Gujarat where Muslims were at the receiving end of Hindus[1]. So, as usual, he just takes the balancing of “communalization” or “secularization” of the 1984 and 2002 events, but make others to forget the riots of other years. However, Indians know very well that Irfan Habib never cared for 1984 or the secular historians dominating the forums like Indian History Congress (IHC), Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR), Forum for Secular Historians etc., and passing resolutions favouring “secular”, “non-communal”, “anti-communal” forces!

Habib speaks at AMU 2010

Irfan Habib excused on health grounds, but inaugurated the Conference: Though, non-Congress secular political players have shown keen interest to join the left sponsored conclave, noted intellectuals with secular credentials are giving it a miss with alibis of health reasons or foreign trip preventing them to attend, though the convention  enlisted as non-political participants of different calibres . Irfan Habib  excused himself on the health ground[2], but he inaugurated the conference. From this, Indians have to understand their true colours of opportunism, treacherous gangsterism, ideological duplicity etc. For appearing in Courts, the accused, appellants, respondents of various categories take shelter under “health grounds” to evade judicial proceedings. In the same way, “eminent, elite” historians also follow such judious-dodgers, but as Prakash Karat had obviously requested, indeed, he appeared and inaugurated!

Habib speaks at Sahmat 2004

Anti-communal or anti-Modi or anti-BJP or anti-Hindu: Indian voters have to identify consciously, who have wanted to associate and parade as “secularists” in India against the interests of Indians under the guise of “secularism”, “communalism” and so on.

They include –

  • Shyam Benegal, theatre personality
  • Raj Babbar, actor and Congress spokes person
  • Mallika Sarabhai activist and classical dancer who was among those petitioning the Supreme Court on the 2002 Gujarat riots,
  • Prof U R Ananda Murthy, Kannada literature.
  • Irfan Habib, Left historian

Politically, parties could be anti-Modi, anti-BJP etc., but how they could be anti-Hindu? How all the anti-Hindu forces, radical elements, fundamental ideologies and others gang themselves to drive the bandwagon of perfidious secularism? They should note how different categories of them come together. To give one example, in 2010 note the persons who came together: Justice P.B. Sawant, Justice Hosbet Suresh, Justice SHA Raza, Justice Rajinder Sachar, economist Professor Prabhat Patnaik, historians Professor Irfan Habib and Professor Shireen Moosvi, etc attended the three-day symposium “Faith and Fact: Democracy after the Ayodhya Verdict” and gave sermons as usual[3]. About NCERT text books, again they come together[4]. They do not care for Supreme court judgments, though very often, they sermon that judiciary should be respected and so on! Therefore, “secular Indians” cannot keep silence about these personalities playing double game with Indian citizens. They have to identify them and unveil them.

Moosvi, Habib, Patnaik-sahmat-communalism combat-social scientist

“The Hindu” does not know Irfan Habib: “The Hindu”, as usual, characteristically reported[5] under the caption “Congress wary of Delhi meet helping BJP”, without mentioning that the comrade Irfan Habib inaugurated the conference. Ironically, though it elaborates about “attack on Congress”, it suppresses many facts including one that Congress was very happy to support and even sponsor it indirectly as Arnav Goswami was suggesting in the evening[6]. “The Hindu”, though poses as “secularist”, now perhaps, everybody has understood that it has been “anti-Hindu”, carrying on its propaganda. Even in the case of RJM issue, how it suppressed the writings of Dr R Nagaswamy, K. V. Raman and other historians is well-known.

Text of the resolution adopted at the Convention for People’s Unity & Against Communalism[7]: In the case of “Ramjanmabhumi-Babri Masjid” issue, “The Hindu” generously accommodated the communist, Marxist, secularist, anti-communalist, atheist, radical and other categories of histories to spit venom in its columns including the subsidiary “Frontline”! Thus, without “Irfan Habib”, it has faithfully given the following as the text of the resolution of the Conference:

“India is a country with various religions, languages, castes and cultures. But there is an underlying unity in the diversity. A unity, which is based on the unity of the people, which makes us all Indians. This unity of the people and the country is under threat from the communal forces. While the people of India, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians and many others fought together for independence, the communal ideology and communal organisations stayed away and instead sought to divide the people. The people rejected the communal ideology and India became a secular democratic republic. At present, the communal forces are once again seeking to raise communal issues and create communal tensions. In the light of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, the communal campaign has been intensified. This has resulted in outbreak of communal incidents in various parts of the country. The riots in Muzaffarnagar are the most glaring example.

It is necessary for the secular and democratic forces to unitedly counter the communal forces of all varieties and maintain people’s unity.

This Convention calls upon the secular and democratic forces to strengthen their efforts amongst the people and mobilize them for rebuffing the communal forces, preserve communal amity, defend our composite culture and strengthen the unity of the people”.

Marxist historian work together ideologicallyHere, also the work of Irfan Habib is noted. Therefore, now perhaps all these “eminent-elite” historians may join “Third-Front”!
