Christian music, Christian Tamil music,  Christian keerthanais and Kutchery: All with “Thomas myth”,  the way, Nivedita Louis spreads it!

The Hindu how spreads thomas myth, Abhirami Rao, July 2019

A newcomer in the list of “Thomas myth” spreading propagandists[1]: The Christians never forget to take any chance to insert and spread the myth of Thomas and now, one Nivedita Louis has come, hitherto unknown name in the context. It appears that she takes every opportunity effectively to do so, wherever, she goes on whatever subject, she deals with[2]. She supplies photos, materials and other things to aid abet to spread such myth without any shame[3]. In the same church, Rayappa Arulappa tried to manufacture evidences with Acharya Paul. Then, so many things happened…the project of a movie on “doubting thomas” and so on. But, she never touches upon these, but, follows the methodology of Subhashini Tremmel[4]. Our course, S. Muthaiah (1930-2019) used to accommodate such myth in his musings here (in The Hindu) and there (Madras musings). Even after him, the same trend continues[5]. One Abhirami Rao who joined the walk of Nivedita Louis came out with a stuff[6] that was duly published in “The Hindu”.  Generally, Indians or Hindus do not bother about all these things. But, when a pattern is found and she gets agitated immediately calling names with the outbursts of “Aryan,” “Dravidian,” “Vanderi” and so on, then, there is a reason to believe that she has agenda and continues now, just like her predecessors. The following have been the news stuff that involves her with the “Thomas myth.”

Nivedita Louis on Thomas myth wherever possible

The connection between Tamil music and Christianity: Right from the period of Bartholomaus Ziegenbalg, who tried to translate the German and Latin hymns into Tamil, people started to sing songs in the Tamil meter[7]. But Christian natives found it difficult to sing in the Western genre. To adjust themselves to the new situation, missionaries came up with songs that have attributes of both Western and Tamil music[8]. Along with singer Jasmine Wilson, writer-historian Nivedita Louis would be a holding a lec-dem that traces the connection between Tamil music and Christianity on August 23 2019 at Press Institute of India, Taramani. “The Tamil Christian songs date back to 300 years. At the ending of every Knanaya marriage, they used to sing Syriac chants. Missionary Constantine Joseph Beschi, also known as Viramamunivar, thought there was a cultural divide in music between the Tamil Christians and missionaries who propagated Christianity. So to have an alliance between the two musical styles, he started translating texts like Tirukkural,” says Nivedita.

Nivitia Luois, on Christian singers
Christian keerthanais, Christian Carnatic songs and Kutchery: People like Vedanayagam Sastriar, N Samuel and Henry Alfred Krishnapillai started writing Tamil Christian classics. “There wasn’t any difference between Carnatic and Tamil music — the music was the same, only the words differed. Vedanayagam Sastriar wrote Bethlehem Kuravanji (with the Lord of Bethlehem as the protagonist) that was inspired by Kutrala Kuravanji,” she explains. Missionaries transformed epic Tamil songs and brought it to the hold of Christianity. That’s how the tradition of keerthanais began. Similar to Carnatic keerthanais, they started penning Christian keerthanais as well. “Vedanayagam Sastriar and Thyagaraja are contemporaries. We don’t find much difference in their writings and compositions. The only difference is the usage of words. Those days, people used to write songs in notebooks and pass it on from one generation to next. When music went from one era to another, there was a huge transformation,” Nivedita adds. The best thing about Christian music is that it is democratic and not restricted to a particular community or group of people.

Waliking through santhome church, Nivedita Louis

The interest of Nividita Louis in the Santhome: Partnering with Vincent D Souza, the editor of a local newspaper, Nivedita says they chose to concentrate on Santhome because, “It has a high concentration of Christians, is one of the oldest parts of the city and has a lot of connections to the Portuguese. The lives of these people are very interesting,” she begins[9]. The walk will commence from the museum inside the Santhome Cathedral (assembly point), from where the hosts will go on to explain about the Portuguese residents’ day-to-day living and prayer rituals. “History shows that many of their customs are akin to that of the locals. For example, we can find pillars similar to the Dwajasthambam built in Hindu temples in some of the churches. People also used to take the idol of Virgin Mary out in a procession like they do with Hindu deities,” she explains[10].

Nivedhita Louis Adichanallur
Historian describes all the buildings near Santhome Church: At the crib inside the Santhome Cathedral, Nivedita will speak about how this Nativity scene was started in 1223 by Francis of Assisi. She says, “He is also called patron saint of animals — that’s why we find a lot of animals in the crib such as donkeys, goats and oxen.” The participants will then proceed to St Bede’s School after which, “We’ll go to the Bishop’s House, which was once a bungalow built by De Monte in 1808. In fact, the gate has a creepy story, which I’ll narrate during the walk,” shares the historian. St. Rita’s Church, CSI St. Thomas English Church, which is 175 years old and CSI St. Thomas Tamil Church will follow. The last stop is Kalpana House, which belonged to a yesteryear actress. The old bungalow currently houses a jewellery store but hidden within its walls is a small shrine built by the actress’ son, containing a 100-year-old statue of Infant Jesus. Another surprise element for the participants will be in store after a visit to this house, which will be revealed during the walk. To participate in the hour-long Christmas Eve Walk that will start at 7.30 pm, contact 9840170982.

Reviving thomas myth by the priests -1
Firangi Kunda or Parangi Malai: Hindus and Muslims reciting Ghazals, inside a church — nothing novel today, perhaps but when it first happened, as an act of spontaneity by people who were overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of the European paintings depicting Biblical scenes, it went on to be etched as a special moment in the city’s multi-cultural history. It happened at the church (called Church of Our Lady of Expectation) on St. Thomas Mount, then known as Firangi Kunda or Parangi Malai when Nawab Sadathullah Khan ruled the Carnatic. The year was 1719, and the Nawab’s men — led by his Dewan, Dakhini Ram along with a few Muslim generals and others — were returning to Arcot after some tough negotiations with the English at Fort St. George.

Reviving thomas myth by the priests -2
The Nawab’s Church visit: On the way, the Nawab’s party was invited by Armenian traders to visit their palatial bungalows at the foot of St. Thomas Mount[11]. After enjoying Armenian hospitality and some rest, Dakhini Ram and his men climbed up the hill to see the elegant church, built at the spot where St. Thomas, the apostle, was believed to have been killed in 72 CE[12]. The Portuguese had built a church there in the 16th century, which was renovated and beautified by the rich Armenian traders of Madras just a few years before the Nawab’s party would land up there, out of curiosity. And what they saw took their breath away. “Its lofty buildings and its elegant and bewitching aisles, where, at every corner, pictures of Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ adorn the walls, dazed the onlooker,” writes Jaswanth Rai, the chronicler of Nawab Sadathullah Khan.

Nivedita Louis on Thomas myth
Arcot Nawab, Sufi, Sheikh and Brahmin: It was probably the first time that the Indians were coming face-to-face with European Renaissance-style paintings. The use of perspective on a two-dimensional surface to make it appear three-dimensional was one of the characteristic features of Renaissance paintings. It made the painted eye appear as though it was following the viewer. Once inside the church, they found the interior of the church roof completely painted with Biblical scenes and of Virgin Mary with Child Jesus. “What wonderful paintings, particularly the ones on the roof are beyond all praise. From whatever corner one looks at, his eyes are dazzled at the art,” records Jaswant Rai, who accompanied the Dewan. Jaswant Rai’s friend Muhammad Arif composed a verse on the spot:

‘His eyes (artist’s) see with the eye of God:

The whole art of the West is manifested in the twinkle of the eye.’

Thoroughly intoxicated with the beautiful paintings and the hospitality of the padre, the Nawab’s men decided to hold a Mushaira (a poetic symposium) right there. So poets such as Khizl Bash Khan, Fazlullah Khan, Aga Muhammad Muqim, chronicler Jaswant Rai and several others got together. Basanth Rai, brother of Jaswanth Rai, sang:

‘The eye has not eyed like unto the beloved from the west; The moon has not witnessed another such moon in the whole of that country…’

Muhammad Arif continued thus:‘

The European beloved has struck such a chord in my heart

That the page of my heart has been metamorphosed

Into a picture of Europe…’

Interestingly, the paintings also brought in philosophical musings in people like Khizl Bash Khan, who began his recital with, “I am not able to differentiate between a Sheikh and a Brahmin…” Perhaps the English translation does not do justice to the original Persian verse with its rhyme and meter, but it does offer a glimpse into a society that appreciated art beyond the narrow confines of religion. Today, sadly it is only these verses that remain of the beautiful paintings that adorned the ceilings of the church. But these verses and the St. Thomas Mount chronicle bear testament to a time when religion did not blur man’s appreciation for the lofty things of life –this story has been published in “the Hindu.” Here, it has to be mentioned that “the Hindu” has been in the habitual accommodator of “Thomas myth” and it never gives ant space to expose it. That has been the journalistic ethics, commitment to history and what not. And finally, I February 2020, Nivedita Louis came out as follows:

Nivedita Louis and her friend on Thomas myth -facebook postings

Nivedita Louis comes out: “There is a museum in Santhome Church. There have been two important Chola inscriptions. Thee are other inscriptions of the Portuguese. The Church never suppressed them. The ceramic ware, bones, coins recovered during the excavations conducted in 1893 have been preserved here. A few years back, when the students of Madras University conducted excavations, terra sigillata, arattain type broken ware were recovered. It is not known whether they have been dated or not. Tis place has been alive since the Sangam period. The public can come and visit the museum, wen t is opened.  Just because, flag-staff is there for the last few years, it s a Hindu temple, some items are inside and therefore they are Hindu., I want to tell the ……….(Chillarai) Hindu organizations, who claim that they are Hindu. The potter of the Sanga period and the Cholas are our Tamil people. They are not like you who invaded and settled down here (vanderi) and not ……..so cheap fanatics. Tamil Christians are not imported from London. They are the sons of this soil. Aboriginal people. The invader Aryans, ho are you to touch upon our Tamil culture? Very strong protestations,” she posted in the Facebook in this way. This was in response to Arjun Sampath visit to the Church in February 2020.

Thomas myth spreading, Parangi church, Nivedita Louis - The Hindu

The Christians should stop spreading “the myth of thomas”: Whether S. Muthaiah or anybody, as they claimed / claim historian and all, they must be knowing the facts of “doubting Thomas,” as they very often quote from the archival sources, old books and documents. As for as the Christians are concerned, as they claim historicity for their religion, god, scriptures etc., they cannot manufacture legends, forge stories and myths. Historians cannot spread myth, particularly, the Thomas myth, as the Mylapore Archbishop himself was involved with such forgeries and the case had gone to the Madras High Court. The litigants came out on “out of court” settlement  to bury the fraudulent activities carried on. However, as it happened 25-30 years, the details have been known to many and they are available. Under such circumstances, they should stop to do such false propaganda.

Why Madurai Pastor followed the policy of “robbing peter to pay paul”? Do the Christians want to replay “Liberation Theology” again?

Why Madurai Pastor followed the policy of “robbing peter to pay paul”? Do the Christians want to replay “Liberation Theology” again?

Pastor arrested for stealing bikes TOI, 13-06-2020-1

Pastor Samuel, running Christian Brothers Assembly Church arrested for stealing bikes: As a pastor he was a man of God who had heard many a confession, but for pastor Vijayan Samuel  K. Vijayan alias Samuel, 38 (according to The Hindu), his judgment day came on Saturday, 13th June 2020, when he had to confess to his crimes and police recovered a dozen stolen two-wheelers from him[1]. The 36-year-old pastor, originally from Theni, was running a prayer hall [Christian Brothers Assembly Church] at a rented place at Thanakkankulam on the outskirts of Madurai for the past two years[2].  Investigation showed that he pledged the two-wheelers with a second-hand vehicle dealer, Selvam, 42, in Tirupparankundram[3]. He too was arrested. According to police, contributions to Samuel’s prayer hall dried up due to the coronavirus lockdown[4]. Though he had stopped congregation services, he had to pay rent for the building which was around Rs. 10,000 a month. The pastor literally found his calling in bikes parked on roadsides with keys intact and started stealing them. As he could not make both ends meet. Hence, he resorted to stealing bikes, especially women’s scooters with keys in the ignition.

Stealing bikes, pledging, getting money ad paying for Prayer Hall: He would watch out for vehicles left behind by owners in commercial areas such as SS Colony, Subramaniyapuram and Thirumangalam in the city. Using a copy of the vehicle records, he would pledge them for money. He gave three such stolen vehicles to his family members in Cumbum and a couple of them to people who took part in his prayer services, say police. Samuel ran out of luck when he took one such stolen vehicle to a mechanic on Bypass Road in the city recently for repair. The mechanic, who found the two-wheeler to be similar to one lost by his customer recently, informed him about it. The customer soon arrived and confirmed that it was his stolen vehicle. They both alerted the Subramanipuram police who promptly picked up Vijayan when he returned to take possession of the vehicle on Saturday, 13th June 2020. “He parked his motorbike in the vicinity and rode away with the two-wheeler,” a police officer said. “He returned after some time to pick up his bike.”

The police caught the Pastor: A crime police team, led by Inspector S. Priya, launched a search after six bikes were reported missing in the last six months[5]. The breakthrough came when a then sub-inspector, A. Jai Sankar, chanced upon a photo and video footage of a suspect in bike theft cases[6]. Police said Samuel pledged his motorbikes with Selvam for a paltry price. And when he took a motorbike, stolen in March, for repair to a workshop, the mechanic noted his details. After ascertaining Samuel’s whereabouts, a special team picked him up at Thanakkankulam. Eleven stolen motorbikes, six from Subramaniyapuram, four from S.S. Colony and one from Tirumangalam, were recovered. Samuel and Selvam were remanded to judicial custody.

“liberation theology” and “robbing peter to pay paul” working in India: During 1980s, the Christians started experimenting with “Liberation theology” in Tamilnadu[7]. There was a spurt of literature produced in this aspect. The books of John C. B. Webster had been repeatedly quoted by the Indian theologians who were advocating “liberation theology.”[8] Violence was also subtly advocated by interpreting Bible and exploiting Latin American model in Indian context. The Indian Bank at Mamanglam branch was looted by two Catholic pastors and they were arrested in April 1980[9]. Ponparapi, Meensurutti, Gangaikonda Cholapuram and other areas around Chidambaram became hiding places for the extremist liberation theologians, Naxalites and Tamil-separatist groups. “robbing peter to pay paul” has been consciously operating among these groups. As they wanted to wage war against the government, they did not repent from carrying out violent methods and even killing people. The details need not be discussed here, but, it is suffice to note that the “liberation theology” and “robbing peter to pay paul” have been working still in the minds of certain Christian groups that are very dangerous for the unity and integrity of India. Under the serious Carona conditions, these are happening means, Indians have to be careful to contain them.

Madurai area notorious for communal clashes and violence [1989]: In October 1989, clashes started when John Pandian, 36, a member of a Christian community, in a speech Sept. 14, 1989 reportedly offended higher castes by threatening to kidnap the local leader´s daughter and marry her[10]. CM Karunanidhi told journalists the trouble started when a Harijan (low-caste) woman was found murdered in nearby Meenakshipuram village. Investigations revealed she was murdered by a mentally deranged man, who was arrested and later released. Subsequently, Pandian, addressing a public meeting, made derogatory remarks about the village president and asked Harijans to marry the president´s daughter by force, Karunanidhi said. The remark led to violence, he added. More than 100 homemade pistols were seized in and around Bodinaickanur village, mostly from Harijans. Many non-Harijans in the area also reportedly possessed licenced firearms, making the task of police difficult. Tirunelveli, Pandian´s home district, and nearby Kanayakumari district have large concentrations of Christians. His fiery speeches have periodically made news, and he was arrested several times on criminal charges[11].

Lieration theology fr Asia, books

India, Indian society and Indian survive with all onslaughts: With 130 billion population, India has been existing with all inherent and external interferences, exploitations and attacks. Even during the emergency, disastrous and Carona periods, Indians have bee exhibiting their humane values and that is why all have been going on well. It is very easy for any writer, journalist researcher, Christian, Mohammedan, Communist and of any other categories to criticize Indians, Indian social system and processes, religious system and beliefs. But, generally, everything has been going on smoothly, unless, these external forces disturb. From the intrusion of non-Indians, Mohammedans of many categories, to the occupation of colonial Europeans of many nations and groups, Indians have been minding their duties and responsibilities and carrying on their daily routines.  They could look at their societies, self-assess, audit and account, before coming to India and criticize. They can honestly, sincerely and faithfully, examine. Apprise and adjudicate as to why the belief in God has been going down among their believers.

India is criticized and Indians disparaged with bias and prejudice: A few “rebellions,” “uprisings” and “upsurges,” they could not contain but resorted to the most heinous criminal methods killing Indians with brutal force. The Mohammedans and the colonial Europeans till date have no guts to come out with their record of killing Indiands during their reigns in India and other Sian counties. And now they want to advise, lecture and tutor about human rights, animal rights and so on. Now, the American and European societies have been witnessing riots, violence and killings. And the much-maligned Asians have been watching them to note how uncivilized they have been with all their sophisticated infrastructures, filthy richness and dominating snobbery. For western, non-Indian and mentally Christian scholars, they have always bias in their minds[12]. They write more exaggerating blowing mole into big proportions, without appreciating the values cherished[13]. Just with the religious arrogance and made-up mindset, they want to criticize everything that is Indian.

What S. Balakrishnan wants in the context of breaking codes of IVC –  how his pro-Tamil and fixed research could bring unbiased results?

February 24, 2020

What S. Balakrishnan wants in the context of breaking codes of IVC –  how his pro-Tamil and fixed research could bring unbiased results?

Needed coding- Outlook Magazine March 2020

I came across a FB dialogue in the context of Keeladi and it appears interesting and hence, I want to discuss. Actually, it is about the book, “Journey of A Civilization: Indus to Vaigai” by R. Balakrishnan. It has been received by one N. Sathiya Moorthy and appeared in the Outlook magazine dated March 2020. It has been duly circulated / shared by RB and his friends. Of course, there have been comments also. As it involves dating and two civilizations as they mention – Tamil and Vedic, as they decided, the review has been taken up for critical study.

Journey of civilization - book launch Dec.2019

Hindutva and pan-Tamil social media have been rivalling each other in propagating the relative antiquity[1]: The reviewer of R. Balakrishnan book started[2], “At a time when Hindutva and pan-Tamil social media have been rivalling each other in propagating the relative antiquity of the culture and scientific temper of their forebears without challenging each other, R. Balakrishnan keeps it academic, strengthening internal evidence to establish the ‘Dravidian heritage’ of the Indus Valley Civilisation (IVC),” thus, he decided that the groups mentioned have been at loggerheads. However,, the so-called Hindutwa groups have never faced the pro-Tamil groups, in the way the reviewer tried to equate and interpret or compare. The fact has been the pro-Tamil groups have been carrying on aggressive propaganda in all ways, where the Hindutwa groups are no match to them.

Vaigai river civilization, politicized

Does Balakrishnan stays away from controversy?: He went on[3], “Balakrishnan, honorary consultant at the Indus Research Centre (IRC) of Chennai’s Roja Muthiah Research Library, has stayed away from controversy, relying instead on scholarship, analytical facts and extensive reading of previous Indus and other archaeological and socio-anthropological studies to establish onomastic[4] linkages, based on commonplace and people names, between IVC and ancient Dravidian/Tamil culture and civilisation.” But, he has been pro-Tamil attitude only without considering the other source materials. RB has been in the habit of reading and interpreting place names as names appearing in the “Sangam literature.” However, he never reads all the names of villages, cities and towns situated in and around such places.

Tamil tons in Afganistan, Pakistan - IVC

Reading the names of villages, cities and towns as Tamil: He went on to explain his methodology as, “It is likely that such a detailed comparison of names of places and persons in present-day Pakistan, Afghanistan on the one hand and ‘Dravidian’ Tamil Nadu on the other would not have been possible without computer software. The linkages that the author has established between the ‘KVT commonality’ of place names (Korkai, Vanchi and Thondi), among others, in ancient Tamil Nadu and present-day Pakistan linked to IVC studies is fascinating”. As long as Balakrishnan could read the names of cities and towns of Afganistan, Sindh, Pakistan etc., it would be that of “arumin” reading of I. Mahadevan. Of course, he declared, “neti, neti,” with caution, but, Ballakishnan has been proceeding with a fixed agenda to prove that everything is Tamil. Ironically, his friend, the so-called “Orissa Balu” has also been doing that wherever he goes[5]. He does not require any historical or archaeological evidences.

R B declaed that IVC was Dravidian 2018

Before Vaigai excavations, Balakrishnan decides its nature: He went on to explain the ongoing excavation as, “The reference to the southern Tamil Nadu river Vaigai in the title relates to the ongoing archaeological research at the Keeladi neighbourhood. Balakrishnan, like many predecessors, has accepted a north-south migration as ‘Indus to Vaigai’ suggests, though the reverse might have been equally true, given that both civilisations were seafarers of repute and were trading, hence migrating. Alternatively, the two might have co-existed, and one might have outlived the other, about which independent studies may have to be undertaken”. Thus, though, the excavations are going on, he would come to conclusion. In other words, the archaeology should follow what the pro-Tamil researcher order or expect. His suggestion that the migrated people to Vaigai, was talking in Tamil there at IVC, becomes meaningless. If RB accepted a “north-south migration,” then, what about AIT? He has to come out with an explicit stand.

R B declaed that IVC was Dravidian 2016- Tamil book

The people of Maharastra and Gujarat could be speaking Tamil[6]: He went on to explain his looking below Gujarat and Maharastra as, “Balakrishnan has gone further to peel off layers of IVC-Dravidian linkages through a closer study of ‘Dravidian Gujarat’ and ‘Dravidian Maharashtra’ in the north and IVC ‘vestiges’ of the Kongu and Nagarathar communities in present-day Tamil Nadu. In particular, his substantial references to IVC-era excavations at Adhichanallur on the banks of the Tamirabarani and later-day works at Keeladi (Keezhadi) on the Vaigai, make the study more relevant”. Thus, the Gujarat and Maharastra people could be speaking Tamil, before they could know Sanskrit or their languages. Without giving any historical evidence, he goes on building hypothesis on hypothesis and concludes.

Keeladi, Outloook dating as 6000 BCE

Keeladi date 6000 BCE?[7]: He went on to explain the datings of Keeladi as, “Recent studies by the Tamil Nadu archaeology department and of the ASI in Keeladi, respectively, in 2003-05 and 2018-19, add value and validation. Dating of the Keeladi excavations has since put ‘Dravidian antiquity’ and the related Tamil-Brahmi script older by 3000 years or so, at 6000 BCE. Against this, IVC is commonly dated at 3000-1300 BCE and by some at 5000 BCE. The antiquity of the Vedic Age is put at 1500-1100 BCE”. Thus, here, the cat has come out of the bag.  So they want to go before the Vedic period! This was pointed out by researcher K. V. Ramakrishna Rao in the FB column of Balakrishnan, but, it was reportedly deleted. However, as he posted the same in other “Outlook” sharings, two persons responded – Mani Manivannan and Sivarama KKrishna SK.  Initially, Mani Manivannan was defensive, “I am not sure where 6000 BCE in the article.” However, Sivarama Kkrishnan SK responded, “Sir, it seems it’s outlook magazine view which they have posted in their review or may be a typo error. But not Balakrishnan sir view, he has no where spoken this in his book.” When K. V. Ramakrishna Rao pointed out that it was in circulation, they informed that it was corrected. In other words, the line, “Dating of the Keeladi excavations has since put ‘Dravidian antiquity’ and the related Tamil-Brahmi script older by 3000 years or so, at 6000 BCE,” was changed to, “Dating of the Keeladi excavations has since put ‘Dravidian antiquity’ and the related Tamil-Brahmi script older by 300 years or so, at 600 BCE”.

Keeladi, Outloook corrected dates as 580 BCE

Balakrishnan’s ‘Dravidian hypothesis’[8]: He went on to explain the ‘Dravidian hypothesis’ as, “In contextualising the ‘Dravidian hypothesis’ of the IVC, Balakrishnan readily concedes that a clearer picture could emerge if and only if the ‘Indus Code’ is deciphered, and a bilingual format found to fix the gaps in the current understanding of IVC. In doing so, he stops with establishing name-based connectivity between the two and has stuck to well-accepted ‘migration’ theories, indicating it is the Indus peoples who had moved down south—taking names and place names with them”. Thus, without breaking the code or deciphering the pictogram or script, he has decided that it should be “Dravidian”! In local media, he has been advocating that IVC should be called as “Dravidian land.” How then, he could look at scientifically without bias about the existing evidences. In spite of his claims made, he is not aking the DNA analysis etc., for his interpretation, but sticking to “Dravidian hypotheses” and theories[9].

KVR pointing out Balakrishnan review-outlook-1

IVC was Tamil only, as the place-names could be read, only in Tamil and not in Sanskrit: He went on to argue about the Sangam words as, “Yet, most meanings and explanations that he offers to the words flow from the Sangam literature or other Tamil sources. Considering that Sanskrit and Tamil have varying antiquities, though one might have borrowed words and phrases from the other, most of the person and place-names that the author has identified as common to ancient Tamil Nadu and IVC do not find a place in Vedic literature. As he has established, more literary linkages have remained between IVC and ancient Tamil Nadu, rather than between IVC and Vedic north, whichever preceded the other”. How then, he is going to explain the gap of 2250-1950 BCE and 580-300 BCE gap? Why the Sangam people should take more than 2000 years to compose their poetry?

KVR pointing out Balakrishnan review-outlook-2

Balakrishnan has dedicated his work to the late Indus researcher Iravatham Mahadevan: “Balakrishnan has dedicated his work to the late Indus researcher Iravatham Mahadevan, who is acclaimed for his work on the ‘Tamil Brahmi’ script. Journey of a Civilisation is a must-read for students of archaeology and socio-anthropology. The publishers should try to take it to a larger audience, through a condensed version, but using commonly-spelt names (Silappadikaram instead of Cilapaticaram) for the non-academic reader to relate to and identify with,” N. Sathiya Moorthy ended his write-up in this way. And we do not know what ideology he belongs to. Anyway, I Mahadevan had been a dedicated IVC researcher and done excellent work in preparing the concordance.

IVC is Tamil civilization, R. Balakrishnan

The Vaigai Valley Civilisation[10]: About “Vaigai Civilization,” he and his friends discussed and “The Hindu” carried a detailed report last November 2019 with the opinion of the TN government and the ideologists[11]. The Keeladi findings have led academics to describe the site as part of the Vaigai Valley Civilisation. The findings have also invited comparisons with the Indus Valley Civilisation. A researcher of the Indus Valley Civilisation and retired civil servant, R. Balakrishnan, points to the similarities in urban planning between the Indus Valley and Keeladi.  Rajan refers to the cultural gap of 1,000 years between the two places: “This cultural gap is generally filled with Iron Age material in south India. The graffiti marks encountered in Iron Age sites of south India serve as the only residual links between the Indus Valley Civilisation and south India.” Some of the symbols found in potsherds of Keeladi bear a close resemblance to Indus Valley signs. There is already a demand in the region to expand the excavation to more areas along the Vaigai so that there is archaeological evidence to prove the glory of life along the river in the ancient Pandya kingdom. Noted epigraphist V. Vedachalam supports the idea of an extended excavation beginning in Madurai. R. Balakrishnan accepted, However, more excavations have to be carried out in the Vaigai and Tamirabarani regions to conclusively figure out how close the Vaigai civilisation was to the Indus Valley in “temporal terms”. More excavations in the region are required, he says, along with timely submission of reports.

Keeladi dating-Sivaramakrishnan respose-outlook

[1] Incidentally, on 22-02-2020, the Hindutwa group realigned under “Centre for South India Studies,” arranged a meeting on Keeladi, but, not publicized. Thus, the purpose of the meeting has been defeated. Dr B.S. Harishankar came to Chennai, but, they failed to take advantage, as the media has been mum about the meeting. They should have consulted academicians or the persons who have contacts with historians etc., so that the meeting could have been made more fruitful, instead of keeping it within four walls.

[4] Onomastic – has been study of history and origin of proper names, just like etymological study.

[5]  He takes all piece-meal details in photos, news reports and other details and declares that all are Tamil, Tamil was spoken throughout the world and so on.

[6]  I have listened to the speeches of S. Balakrishnan at the auditorium of the Tamil Virtual Academy and I could note that his habitual way of interpreting the poems of Pattuppattu and Ettuttogai in his own way and tries to link with Tamil and Tamil people. He is not worried about  what the Tamil scholas, pundits and related experts have recorded in their commentaries and writings of and about the “Sangam literature.”

[7] About the dating of Kelladi, already, controversy has been going on, as they have not publicly exhibited the dating of other 5 or 6 samples sent to Beta Analytics and dated. I have already pointed out earlier when I asked Beta Analytics, they refused and when I wrote to TN State archaeological department, they have not replied so far. Therefore, under such circumstances, again, why they play with datings is intriguing.

Dravidian DK-DMK have been definitely anti-Hindu and neo-atheist rabid, but, pro-Mohammedan and Christian for votes!

April 3, 2019

Dravidian DK-DMK have been definitely anti-Hindu and neo-atheist rabid, but, pro-Mohammedan and Christian for votes!

Karuanidhi abused Hindu as thief; questioned Rama, in which college he took engineering degree to build bridge and so on!

Karuanidhi abused Hindu as thief; questioned Rama, in which college he took engineering degree to build bridge and so on!

Dravidian leaders have been anti-Hindu and blasphemous in their speeches and writings: EVR or the so-called Periyar “great person” had been totally anti-Hindu and brought out dozens of anti-Hindu tracts without any historical or logical basis. However, they have been printed, reprinted and circulated by the Self-Respect Publishers, Vepery, DK Headquarters. Those who read, have been simply carried away and they never verified the veracity and historicity of what he wrote some 80 years ago. The trend continued with Annadurai, who was a less rabble rouser with verbose and double-meaning. As for as Karunanidhi is concerned, he had been vulgar, blasphemous and indecent commenter. Thus, his son Stalin and daughter Kanimozhi have been in the same way, abusing and blaspheming Hindu religion, scriptures and practices. As their, anti-Hindu activities, discourses and abuses have been in Tamil, perhaps, they are not known to other language knowing Indians and believers.

Karunandhi had been dexterous to exploit every occasion to attack Hindu religion etc., in his own way!

Karunandhi had been dexterous to exploit every occasion to attack Hindu religion etc., in his own way!

The Dravidian leaders abuse ladies even inside Tamil Nadu State assembly: The double entendre, double-meaning, speaking with vulgar verbose have been the standards, feature and hallmark of Dravidian stage speech, dialogue and discussion, whether on the stage or inside the Tamil Nadu state Assembly. Karunanidhi’s remarks against T. N. Anatha Nayaki[1], Jeyalalita[2] and others have been too well-known to be repeated here. As for as theism is concerned, it has been anti-Hindu only and they ave never commented or talked against Mohammedans of Christians. Their commonality has been to attend Ifter and Christmas parties, eat with them and comment upon the Hindu festivals in contrast.  Karunanidi has been the trend setter in this aspect. If all of his comments are compiled, a book can be brought out.

Stalin anti-hindu, Indian Express

Stalin’s clarification came of April Fool’s Day: DMK president M K Stalin 01-04-2019, Monday asserted that his party was not against any religion[3] and deprecated what he called a disinformation campaign that his outfit was an “enemy of Hindus.” Ironically, the day has been “Fools Day,” commemorated on April 1st by playing practical jokes and spreading hoaxes. The jokes and their victims are called April fools. People playing April Fool jokes often expose their prank by shouting “April fool(s)” at the unfortunate victim(s). Some newspapers, magazines and other published media report fake stories, which are usually explained the next day or below the news section in smaller letters. Aside from April Fools’ Day, the custom of setting aside a day for the playing of harmless pranks upon one’s neighbour has historically been relatively common.

Stalin anti-hindu, Times Now

Jagathrakshakan might be a believer, but, Stalin not: The Dravidian party chief, addressing a poll rally near Pandianallur, Sholingur, Vellore, described his party nominee for the Arakkonam Lok Sabha constituency, S Jagathrakshakan, as a deeply spiritual man who spent his money during his previous tenure as MP to renovate hundreds of temples in Arakkonam, besides developing infrastructure and undertaking other welfare initiatives[4]. “Jagathrakshakan has another specialty. He is a deeply spiritual person[5]. Some are even today criticising DMK as an enemy of the Hindus. Are you saying this even after seeing him (Jagathrakshakan)..?” The DMK chief blamed sections of the media for deliberately creating a false impression that his party was against the Hindus[6]. It is not the question of Jagathrakshakan seen with him or DMK, but, the other way. He joined DMK, evidently, to break the Vanniyar vote, but, he did not want to be an atheist.

Abusing Hindu religions, Gurus and all, he allowed his first wife to portray before Sai Baba!

Abusing Hindu religions, Gurus and all, he allowed his first wife to portray before Sai Baba!

“…….we accepted God or not, he had accepted us”: Stalin said the party follows what late leaders CN Annadurai (Anna) and M Karunanidhi had spelt on the religion. “Anna had stated that onre kulam; oruvane devan (one God, one community)[7]. We are following this ideal. We are never against (the belief in) God,” he explained, adding Kalaignar (Karunanidhi) had said that whether we accepted God or not, he had accepted us[8]. Citing the popular dialogue “we are not against temples, our principle is that it should not become a camp of the wicked,” written by his late father M Karunanidhi in the 1952 Tamil film “Parasakthi,” he said the DMK had never been against those worshipping God[9].  Tamil Nadu people know very well about these leaders. When the Pillaiyar / Vinayaka idols were broken by EVR, the poonools cut by the Dravidian cadres, women attacked with virulent abusive language, no action was taken. Karunanishi had been more virulent and abusive in his language. And they have not been so spiritual, if at all of any spirituality, it is highly idiotic to claim that, “…….we accepted God or not, he had accepted us”!

Stalin anti-hindu, money control

Men blaspheming and wives worship – is this could be called as secular or showing equal respect to all religion or not anti-Hindu?: Stalin said his wife offered prayers at temples every day and added that he had never prevented her from visiting shrines since it was her wish[10]. Men blaspheming and wives worship – is this could be called as secular or showing equal respect to all religion or not anti-Hindu? Even, children may not agree with this type of logic. “They (sections of the media) are, however, indulging in a disinformation campaign that DMK is against the Hindus and temple worship,” he said and added that people are not ready to believe it. Stalin said when he took over as party chief last year, he categorically stated at the general council that he would be for all religions and against none; that his party would be on the side of all religions and not discriminate on the basis of caste or religion. “I had spoken categorically that DMK is not against any religion. However, continuously, sections of media and press are indulging in wrong propaganda. We are not worried about it as people are on our side,” he said.

When he went to housing board, one woman affectionately applied kumkum on his forehead, but, he erased immediately, and all onlookers were shocked!

When he went to housing board, one woman affectionately applied kumkum on his forehead, but, he erased immediately, and all onlookers were shocked!

Stalin’s attitude also is known to public: The top DMK leader’s assertion that his party was not against any religion comes nearly two months after a video clip surfaced on social media purportedly showing Stalin criticising Vedic ceremonies in Hindu weddings. After the two-year-old clip surfaced, the ruling AIADMK had accused Stalin of trying to divide people on religious lines. In the 1.28-minute video, Stalin purportedly takes potshots at “Vaidika,” Hindu marriages presided over by a Brahmin priest. The smoke from the yagna (havan) makes not only the bride and groom “cry a little,” but also those around to witness the ceremony and creates a sombre ambience, the DMK leader was seen purportedly commenting in the video. Rejecting claims that Stalin’s speech was offensive, a DMK spokesperson had said marriages sans ceremonies had all along been the cornerstone of the party’s ideology. “It is a two-year-old video clip and it has now been released seeking to gain political mileage by right wing supporters,” the spokesperson said and added that the video featured only a portion of Stalin’s speech. Stalin has been caught by the believers, when, he erased kumkum, Sandal paste applied on his forehead at two places. This has also created aversion against his attitude. Above all, these leaders wish on te occasion of festivals and celebrations of Mohammedans and Christians, but, they never participate in Hindu festivals. On the contrary, the DK mouth peace “Viduthalai” comes out with blasphemous articles and these leaders pass negative comments, that too, participating in their festivals.

Stalin response to The Hindu 23-09-2018

In 2018 also, the same issue cropped up, because of the attitude of Stalin: Last year, 2018, when a question, “You took a stand on God in the party’s general council for the first time[11]. Was it because you feel that it is difficult to run a campaign against God and religion, especially after the BJP’s growth?” was asked, Stalin, explained as follows[12]: “I would like to give a detailed reply. Anna proclaimed that there was “one God and one race”. He also said, “I would not break Pillaiyar, nor will I break coconut for him.” Kalaignar had reiterated this point many times. But a section is deliberately suppressing these facts and seeking to portray us as atheist and anti-Hindu. Kalaignar always had a non-partisan approach. He was not against faith in God or in religion (as his actions in government would prove). When I spoke about God, I kept in mind the ideas of Anna and Kalaignar. Contrary to your assumption, the DMK has never preached against God and religion”.

June 2018, SriRangam temple, Stalin, priest apply paste-Stalin removed-BJP

Stalin is afraid of losing Hindu votes: Now, because of elections and his anti-Modi tirade, he cannot justify his more rabid anti-Hindu hate speech, or his rants coming out through Verramani and others would not be ignored by the voters. As these leaders try to appeal Dravidian cadres by allowing their women folk to be so faithful to Hindu religion, but, talk nonsense and DMK talk less nonsence, but allow DK Veeramani to talk more nonsense,  people may not be so fools to keep quite. At one stage, they may retaliate as Hindus. That only, Stalin denies not want and now clarifies. As Rahul and Priyanka have started going to temples and doing all antics, Stalin also may visit few temples, like Titumavalavan, who talked openly that all temples should be destroyed. And Sathur Ramachandran has already unveiled their dubious plan, “We can easily fool Hindus by applying vibhudhi on our foreheads, they would vote for us”!

Is Sabarimala for  the devotees or for dirty women like Rehana Fathima Pyarijaan Sulaiman and journo trekkers, atheists etc? [2]

October 24, 2018

Is Sabarimala for  the devotees or for dirty women like Rehana Fathima Pyarijaan Sulaiman and journo trekkers, atheists etc? [2]

Who were these two tried to enter Sabarimala-1

Suhashini Raj with an American walked briskly towards the route to temple

Suhashini Raj with an American walked briskly towards the route to temple………

Who were these two tried to enter Sabarimala-2

Two persons intervened and asked, but, she showed some document told that they were tourists and proceeded…..

Who were these two tried to enter Sabarimala-3

However, when they were found on the hill-path, the devotees asked them and police also surrounded and asked them to leave….

Suhashini Raj, not a devotee, but, a journo: In the case of Suhashini Raj, NDTV reported[1], “On Day 2 [18-10-2018, Thursday] of the Sabarimala temple opening, Suhasini Raj, a Delhi-based New York Times reporter who said she was not a devotee, began to trek uphill who got past Pamba base camp had to abort just before the lag leg of the trek to the shrine after protesters formed a human wall before her. According to the reporter[2], “the protesters had thrown stones, forcing the two journalists to return” but, it was false and the NDTV has no along with her colleague”, adding, “Suhasini Raj, who is a Delhi-based journalist, along with her colleague, a foreign national, managed to go past the Pamba gateway but was stopped midway by angry Sabarimala devotees”. Here, NDTV suppressed the fact that her college isa foreigner. The two journalists guts to tell the truth that she went there by telling lies. In fact, one person has videographed her trek that exposes her intent. Since the Sabarimala temple opening, at least 12 women have attempted the 20-km trek to the hilltop shrine starting at the Nilakkal base camp, but none of these women were successful.

Rehna Fatima, nude

Rehana Fathima Pyarijaan Sulaiman[3]: Rehana was brought up in an orthodox Muslim family and attended a madarassa[4]. “I used to wear the hijab and do namaz five times a day,” she says. Things changed after her father died when she was in Class 12[5]. She is known for her angst over a male professor’s comments on the students’ breasts[6]. The professor compared them to watermelons and further advised girls to cover themselves since they attract men.  In protest to this, Rehana Fathima, a 31-year-old BSNL government employee, she posed nude with watermelons[7]. The model and activist from Kochi received massive backlash for the same[8]. However, she explained that this was needed because she wanted “to question the restrictions regarding a woman baring her body”, as per a report in The Times of India. She was also a part of several other movements of dissent. Fathima was the first woman to participate in the traditional Onam tiger dance in 2016, Thrissur Pulikali, that is traditionally done by all-male troupes. She has also been a part of the Kiss of Love campaign against moral policing in 2014, as per TOI. Fathima had earlier posted a picture of her wearing the ‘mala’ on Facebook with a single word caption: “Philosophy”. After Fathima tried to enter the Sabarimala temple today, her house in Kochi was vandalised soon after but two unidentified people. Rehana now lives with her filmmaker partner Manoj, their two daughters and his parents. Manoj has produced the art film, and her debut movie, Eka about intersex people.

Can these equal to Iyappa baktas

Kavitha Jakkal – online journo[9]: Kavitha Jakkal, a reporter from Hyderabad working with Mojo TV Telugu as a nes-presenter-cum-reporter, was one who was accompanying Fathima as the police escorted them to the gates of Lord Ayyappa’s shrine. She also wore a bulletproof jacket as they walked from Pamba to Sannidhanam. She had earlier said that she won’t return before the darshan. However, the two women were forced to return afterward as their security was threatened by an agitating crowd of devotees.  The CEO of Mojo TV, Revathi Pogadadanda, took to Twitter soon after the incident and said that her team of journalists including Kavitha, Balakrishna and Narasing were going on an indefinite hunger strike.  “They r fighting for their right. They are fighting for what the #SupremeCourt said. Don’t take this country back to medieval ages! Let the law live,” she wrote[10]. In a statement to the media, Kavitha said[11]: “I am a journalist, doing my duty. By religion, I am a Hindu. I am here to cover the implementation of the Supreme Court judgment. I have been arrested and forcibly taken to the airport. I can see the SC judgment was not implemented due to pressure. I condemn the way I was restricted. A journalist not being able to discharge her duty is nothing, but a weakness of the system. I thank the Kerala government and police for giving immense support to us. We could not complete the journey since anti-social elements have put children and the elderly in the line of fire. Given a chance, I will return to Sabarimala to offer prayers and I will come back to do my duty too.” In Hyderabad, several rightwing activists stormed the MOJO TV office in Banjara Hills and raised slogans against Kavitha[12].

Kavitha Jakkal, TV-journalist

Mary Sweety- Catholic woman [13]: Another woman, Mary Sweety, tried to enter the temple but was forced to return soon after. Mary Sweety told reporters that “her body was full of divine power motivating her to climb”, as per a report in The News Minute. A 46-year-old woman from Kerala’s Kazhakkottam, she said she wanted to witness the deity at least once. However, she had to return midway after she was stopped by a group of protesting devotees.  “I don’t know about them (journalist Kavitha Jakkal & woman activist Rehana Fatima). If women have returned, it is your drawback. I want to go there,” she said[14]. Kavitha Jakkal and Rehana Fathima were just metres away from the entry of the temple before they were stopped by protesting devotees and priests. Devotees outside Lord Ayyappa’s shrine have blocked the entry gates while the head priest Kandarau Rajeevaru has decided to lock the temple and hand over the keys in view of the protests.

Mary Sweety, Catholic activist

The dubious women were given protection, but, the devotees made to suffer: On Friday [10-10-2018], three women – an online journo Kavitha Jakkal from Hyderabad, activist Rehana Fathima from Kochi and Mary Sweety from Thiruvananthapuram – reached Pamba to trek to Sannidhanam. Though a special police team led by Inspector General S Sreejith escorted both Rehana Fathima and Kavitha to Sannidhanam, the women were asked to return to Pamba after a group of devotees blocked their entry at Nadapandhal at Sannidhanam chanting Swami Saranam. When Mary Sweety reached Pamba and decided to trek to Sannidhanam, police dissuaded her explaining about the volatile situation and safely escorted her back to Pathanamthitta. It was intriguing to note that how these media women with such shady back ground were given uniform, protection etc., when the devotees were disturbed. Moreover, how the two women followed the “Mandala vratam,” who initiated etc. were also not known. Therefore, how ridiculous it was that they police to accompany them! Indian Express went on to argue, “While the state police are legally bound to give protection to women coming to Sabarimala for darshan following the Supreme Court verdict, they are now giving top priority to the law and order situation at Sabarimala.

The Three- mohammedan and christians created problem witth police

Police to verify the background of the women, who want to enter the temple[15]: With Devaswom Minister Kadakkampilly Surendran on Friday [10-10-2018] making it clear that no forceful action will be taken to evict the protesting devotees at Sannidhanam, things have become much clear that the police won’t use force on the devotees blocking the entry of women to Sabarimala”. But the fact is, the police not  only lathi-charged, but also damaged many vehicles marked by the side. The Minister also made it affirmative that they won’t allow anyone to make use of the situation to hurt the sentiments of the devotees and convert Sabarimala into a war zone. He was referring to Rehana Fathima, a known activist, who made an attempt to enter Sabarimala. Senior police officers said they have been directed to verify the background of the women devotees who are reaching Pamba to proceed to Sannidhanam during this volatile situation. “Intelligence wing will be tracking the developments as there will be people with vested interests to make use of this vulnerable situation and flare up things for communal violence,” a top police officer said[16]. So why it was done for the three or four women is intriguing.

Is Sabarimala for  the devotees or for dirty women like Rehana Fathima Pyarijaan Sulaiman and journo trekkers, atheists etc? [1]

Is Sabarimala for  the devotees or for dirty women like Rehana Fathima Pyarijaan Sulaiman and journo trekkers, atheists etc? [1]

, Sabarimala -the Five judges

The split judgment of Sabarimala and the haste politics of Communists leading to complications: The Supreme Court has announced that women of all ages could enter Sabarimala Iyyappan Temple in its judgment delivered on September 28, 2018. It has been a split judgment, as one of the five judges differed with the others[1]. Evidently, the Supreme Court or the four judges have not gone into the details of the temple, its tradition and connected rituals. Also, they have not considered the other provisions of the Constitution, where, various religious sects and denominations could maintain their own temples, belief system etc., without affecting others. That Sabarimala temple and devotees have been maintaining their position for hundreds of years has been proven by its existence and continuing traditions. As this has been the condition, the scene created, definitely by few, has been condemnable, as Sabarimala is not a place of picnic, activism or politics. Therefore, the few women, that too, non-Hindus, journalists and TV crew to go there and create problem, affecting the devotees, who have been going there with the vow, proves the pre-planned attack on the Sabarimala devotees, under the guise of law. Evidently, the Kerala government, now headed by the Communists have stated exploiting it as an opportunity to disturb and wound the sentiments of the devotees, by applying the police force, as evident from the happenings.

, Sabarimala -Ayyappa Saranam

Sabarimala movement has given space for all: Sabarimala movement, in the sense, that it gives equality to all without any discrimination, particularly for men, has been grown phenomenally, attracting many. Of late, rich people, actors and others started going there. Generally, poor people, labourers, workers, auto drivers and others used to go there, as they used to start their nonbu / penance during Kartigai month. Thus, it is very much similar to Varkari movement that drew lakhs of devotees spontaneously[2]. During their vow period, they do not take non-veg food, drink, smoke etc., and thus, they follow “brahmacharya” as a “kannisami” viz. young male devotee of virtues. They feel pride, as all others call them as “Sami” with respect. Of course, young and old women going there has been a regular feature and none took it differently……Thus, all have been going on well for so many years, but, in 2018, it has become a big issue. Ironically, instead of real woman-devotees, as they respected the tradition and do not want to violate, in spite of the judgment, few non-Hindu women, that too, journalists tried to enter with police force affecting the sentiments of crores of Hindus. How many of Indians would have red 411 pages judgments is also not known.

, Sabarimala -Indu Malhothra

It is not dissent judgement, but, people’s judgment: The Judge, Indu Malhothra, has summarized her order as follows: “The summary of the aforesaid analysis is as follows:

(i) The Writ Petition does not deserve to be entertained for want of standing. The grievances raised are non-justiciable at the behest of the Petitioners and Intervenors involved herein.

(ii) The equality doctrine enshrined under Article 14 does not override the Fundamental Right guaranteed by Article 25 to every individual to freely profess, practise and propagate their faith, in accordance with the tenets of their religion.

(iii) Constitutional Morality in a secular polity would imply the harmonisation of the Fundamental Rights, which include the right of every individual, religious denomination, or sect, to practise their faith and belief in accordance with the tenets of their religion, irrespective of whether the practise is rational or logical.

(iv) The Respondents and the Intervenors have made out a plausible case that the Ayyappans or worshippers of the Sabarimala Temple satisfy the requirements of being a religious denomination, or sect thereof, which is entitled to the protection provided by Article 26. This is a mixed question of fact and law which ought to be decided before a competent court of civil jurisdiction.

(v) The limited restriction on the entry of women during the notified age group does not fall within the purview of Article 17 of the Constitution.

(vi) Rule 3(b) of the 1965 Rules is not ultra vires Section 3 of the 1965 Act, since the proviso carves out an exception in the case of public worship in a temple for the benefit of any religious denomination or sect thereof, to manage their affairs in matters of religion.

In light of the aforesaid discussion and analysis, the Writ Petition cannot be entertained on the grounds enumerated hereinabove. It is ordered accordingly”, thus, passed the judgment. Hence, it is not any dissent judgment, but, people’s judgment and perhaps, God’s judgment!

, Sabarimala -Atheist CM

With obvious politicization of the issue, the Temple authorities and the Kerala government have decided not to appeal against or file revision petition. Contrary, the Hindus of Kerala have started their protests in a large scale in peaceful manner. Thousands of women came on the roads and marched towards Government offices with the pictures of Ayyappa and banners questioning the judgment that affects their devotion and tradition. On 03-10-2018 [Wednesday], more than 20,000 devotees marshalled through social media, mostly women, held a protest march in Pandalam, headquarters of an erstwhile royal family that once governed the temple. The leading Malayalam daily, Malayala Manorama, carried a front-page picture of the march but Mathrubhumi came under attack for carrying a report on an inside page and without a picture. About the downplying of this event the media groups themselves were divided, because of the government pressure[3]. The entry of Nair Service Society (NSS), a socio-culture organisation of the influential upper-caste community has only added steam to the protests. The NSS also happens to be the first to decide on filing a review petition against the judgement[4]. As usual, the ruling Communist and Congress parties started accusing BJP, RSS and other right wing organizations for such upsurge, but, the fact has been different, as the Left wing media groups have been heavily anti-Hindu affecting the sentiments. Thus, ironically, the few women Mohammedan, Christian and secular categories came and started the communalization of the issue. These have been the credentials and back ground of the women who started creating problem.

, Sabarimala -libi jurno

L. S. Libi atheist posing as a devotee with dress!: The NDTV reported that[5]C.S. Libi, Christian posed as a Hindu, was among the first to attempt the trek to the shrine on the day the temple gates were to open. Days before her visit, she had posted her plan on Facebook. The protesters had apparently seen her post and decided to block her the moment she reached a bus stand in Pathanamthitta, 65 km from the temple. The police had shielded her from a group of protesters who had surrounded her at the bus stop. They threatened to burn the bus if it drove towards the temple’s base camp, news agency IANS had reported.” But, the event was videographed ny many and she had to return, because of her contradicting answers and encounter she had with women devotees and others at the bus-stand[6]. Another woman, Libi CS, was arrested at a bus stop by worshipers who accused her of wearing jeans[7]. “This is how a lady should go to the temple.” She claims to have observed penance, but if you look at the pearls of the Sabarimala necklace, it is very clear that she has worn it today. “Yesterday or yesterday, it is not acceptable to us and she will not be allowed to go there,” said a group of angry female protesters. Libi CS, a journalist, posted on Facebook her plan to visit Sabarimala Temple. The protesters apparently saw her post and decided to block her as soon as she arrived at a bus station in Pathanamthitta, 65 meters from the temple. “Friends, we are leaving all four for Sabarimala today, which includes atheists like me and two devotees,” said Libi’s Facebook message[8].

DMK, Dravida and Black Parivar have been anti-Hindu or not? “Mount Road Mahavishnu,” marital alliance with Iyengars, tirade against Rama and Ramayana [2]

June 2018, SriRangam temple, Stalin, priest apply paste

2018 – drama of visiting Srirangam for Durga: Again in June 21-22, 2018, he visited Srirangam in connection with party functions, as arranged by the DMK cadres. He visited the house of IUML leader, K. M. Khader Mohideen, to enquire about his ailing wife Hajiyani Lathiba Begum. Then he visited Padmasali Mantap to attend some function. On his way, at the Srirangam temple, he was welcomed by Sundar Bhattar and others, opposite to Ranga Gopuram. Ironically, he was given a silk shawl and one priest affectionately put the holy paste on his forehead, but, lo, this man wiped out it with the same shawl! This shocked not only the innocent priests, as could noted from the photographs, but also by other onlookers. They welcomed with “Purnakumbam,” and honored through an elephant garlanding him.  On behalf of Ahobila mutt also, he was honoured[1]. When they asked to come inside the temple, he flatly refused[2] with usual facial expression frowning. To clear all doubts, “Nakkeeran,” the pro-DK-DMK magazined recorded that just to satisfy the wish of Durga, his wife only, he did all these antics[3]. Only K. N. Nehru’s wife used to accompany, this time either she joined him or he took her. In any case, the DMK cadres told, he came just to satisfy and fulfill her wishes[4]. In any case, it is clear that he conducted such dramas to fool others, particularly, the gullible Hindus.

June 2018, SriRangam temple, Stalin, priest apply paste-Stalin removed-BJP

Karunanidhi declared, “Hindu is a thief” in October 2002, case filed[5]: The Chennai city police had registered the first information report against the former Chief Minister and DMK president, M. Karunanidhi, for his speech at an October 24 2002 minorities’ meeting here, which, a complainant said, wounded the religious feelings of Hindus. The police acted on the complaint filed by, R. Premnath, an advocate of Chepauk, before XIV metropolitan magistrate[6]. The court forwarded the complaint to the Egmore police station. Accordingly, the police registered a case for offences under Section 295-A (Deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) and 298 IPC (Uttering words, etc., with deliberate intent to wound religious feelings) and taken up a probe.  The complainant said at the meeting held at St.Andrew Church, Egmore, to protest the legislation preventing forcible conversions, the former Chief Minister spoke with the “deliberate intention to outrage the feelings of Hindus, to get applause and support from the gathering to undermine and wantonly insult the Hindus”. Karunanidhi had said, “Who is a Hindu? A good man would say the word `Hindu’ means a thief”. The word used by him showed “his deliberate intention of wounding the religious feelings of Hindus”. He did not tender any apology. The complainant said the DMK chief  “identified himself as a rationalist, but changes his colours at public meetings to satisfy the gathering”. The Police Commissioner ought to have taken suo motu action against Karunanidhi for insulting the Hindu religion and feelings of Hindus. But neither the police nor the Government took action,  Premnath said.

Karu, Rama, bow and arrow

Is this Ram a civil engineer? When Karunanidhi called Ramayana “fiction” (2007): In 2007, he famously came down hard on ‘communal forces’ for using the ‘myth’ of Ram Sethu to stall the Sethusamudram project and had famously said[7]: “Who is this Raman (as Lord Ram is referred to in Tamil)? In which engineering college did he study and become a civil engineer? When did he build this so-called bridge? Is there any evidence for this?” On the withdrawal of the Sethusamudram Shipping Canal Project – to create a shipping route in the shallow straits between India and Sri Lanka, he had said: “The withdrawal of the affidavits does not mean that the project is being withdrawn,” Karunanidhi told reporters at Yercaud near Salem. “If it amounts to the project itself being shelved, then the DMK, which adheres to scientific, rational and progressive ideals, will not accept it.” He went on to call Ramayana a piece of fiction that represented the conflict between Aryans and Dravidians. This had led BJP’s Ravi Shankar Prasad to retort: “We would like to know from Karunanidhi if he would make a similar statement against religious head of any other religion; chance are he may not.”He even went on to claim Ram was a drunkard and he was quoting Valmiki’s Ramayana. Pointing out that the Constitution didn’t bar his remarks, he had said[8]: “I have not hurt anyone by my remarks. Expressing the views which are already in writing cannot be termed as wounding the sentiments of somebody else. The DMK has never done anything which would hurt the sentiments of either the Hindus or anybody else and the party would not do so in the future.”

TTD met Kru for Ramanujar Jan.2016

Karunanidhi playing Ravana (1998): On October 1, 1998, Anoor Jagadeesan, president of PDK and 16 others were arrested when they tried to burn the effigies of Rama and Lakshmana in Chennai[9]. On October 18, 1998, Karunanidhi asserted that, “….if you insult Ravana, you are insulting me”. Quoting from Jawaharlal Nehru’s Discovery of India, the septuagenarian politician pointed out that the epic is all about the Aryan-Dravidian struggle for supremacy[10]. Karunanidhi’s speech was a throwback to some of his earlier film scripts when he brought this struggle to the fore through subtle messages that bypassed the scrutiny of censors. In Ramasethu issue also, he passed remarks asking “In which engineering college Rama studied” (so that he could build a bridge). Even, Kamal Hasan also used to utter that he came from Ravan genealogy or something like that!

ISKCON with Karu

EVR, Anna and Karunanidhi followed the same pattern (1956-1970): In 1956 August first, Dravidia Kazhagam asked the volunteers to bum pictures of Lord Rama as the organization considered Ramayana as anti-women and anti lower castes etc. one Dravidia Kazhagam leader in the name of Thiruvarur Thangarajan wrote a new version of Ramayana way Rama was portrayed as a villain. The Dravidia Kazhagam film star M.R. Radha staged the play throughout the state. The Government led by the Chief Minister Kamaraj immediately banned the play but Dravidia Kazhagam after obtaining court’s pem1ission staged the play in selected towns.  At the instigation of Thiru E. V. Ramaswami Naicker[11], the Leader of Dravida Kazhagam, several tableaus depicting the picture of Gods Rama and Muruga were being beaten by a chappal in a procession held at Salem on 23rd and 24th January 1971. When one individual printed the photos of the procession, the DMK government banned and seized the posters.  The Government of Tamil Nadu issued a Notification G. O. Ms. No. 491 Home dated 12-2-1971 directing the posters to be forfeited to the Government on the ground that the said posters contained matters which promote or intend to promote the feelings of enmity and hatred between different classes of citizens of India or which is deliberately or maliciously intended to outrage the religious feelings of any such class by insulting the religion or the religious feelings of that class[12].

Karu-yoga

Mount Road Mahavishnu, Karunanidhi and Iyengar girls marrying his nephews: It is well known that Karunanidhi used to be so harsh and rude about “The Hindu” dubbing it as a “Parppanan naledu”, i.e, a daily of Brahmins (using derogatory word). However, N. P. Ramajeyam started gaining control over the Hindu labour union.  He joined in 1965 and became Union’s General Secretary in 1975. He was also a MLA of Mylapore constituency during 1996-2001. When he died in 2007, N. Murali, MD praised him like anything and told, “that he never brought politics inside”! However, when Kanimozhi was suffering fron depression, because of divorce, she was accommodated in the “editorial section” and trained to get over. Ironically, Dayanidhi Maran took their relative Priya as his wife. He married Priya of “The Hindu” Iyengar family [Ramesh Rangarajan son of S. Rangarajan] on 26-08-1994. Incidentally, Mallika wife of Murasoli Maran has been the daughter of A. N. Kalanasundara Iyer. And Stalin’s name was mentioned in posters, in those days as “Vishnu Stalin”!  Then the atheit and anti-Hindu Karunanidhi stopped mentioning “Mount Road Mahavishnu”. However, his tirade against Ram unabated as pointed out above. Thus, father and son have been trying to exploit the sentiments of Iyengars with marital links.

DMK, Dravida and Black Parivar have been anti-Hindu or not ?: “Mount Road Mahavishnu,” marital alliance with Iyengars, tirade against Rama and Ramayana [1]

DMK, Dravida and Black Parivar have been anti-Hindu or not? “Mount Road Mahavishnu,” marital alliance with Iyengars, tirade against Rama and Ramayana [1]

Stalin response to The Hindu 23-09-2018

Why DMK took difference stand in the General Council?: The Dravidian parties, particularly, the Dravidar Kazhagam and Drvida Munnetrak Kazhagam with all their splinter groups operating under different banners have been consistently, atheist, that too, anti-Hindu since inception. With the presence of BJP felt now, they have been jittery and tried to change their stand. In deed, the DMK was in NDA, in spite of their anti-Hindi, anti-north, anti-Aryan, anti-Hindu and so on. Now, also, the possibility of Dravidian parties aligning with BJP for the 2019 elections, as is openly discussed in the media, DMK tries to clarify its position. Under the circumstances, in “The Hindu,” the report / news appeared has been interesting and intriguing also, as it has not appeared in other newspapers[1]. “The Hindu” Reporter reportedly asked, “You have taken a stand on God in the party’s general council for the first time. Was it because you feel that it is difficult to run a campaign against God and religion especially after the BJP’s growth or are you seeking to put an end to the criticism that the DMK is anti-Hindu?”.  For this Stalin responded as follows[2]:

Cases on anti-hindu karu

Stalins’s detailed reply to the question as to DMK has been anti-Hindu: Stalin responded, “I would like to give a detailed reply. Anna proclaimed that there was “one God and one race”. He also said, “I would not break Pillaiyar, neither will I break coconut for him.” Kalaignarhas reiterated this point many times. But a section deliberately suppresses these facts and seeks to portray us as atheist and anti-Hindu. When Anna talked about God, he took a cue from Bharathiyar’s lines, “Oh ignorant! You are in search for a thousand Gods.” Kalaignar always had a non-partisan approach. He never imposed his ideas and beliefs on others. He was not against faith in God or in religion. Why should he desilt the Kapaleeswarar temple tank if he was against the faith? Would he have come forward to repair a portion of the Tiruvannamalai temple when it collapsed? Would he have taken efforts to run the Tiruvarar temple car in 1969 which remained idle for 20 years and allowed Mannai Narayanansamy, who was a minister in his cabinet, to participate in it?

Atheists exploiting Krishna etc

Karunanidhi’s stand on Hindu religion and Hindus: Stalin’s detailed reply continued, “Just listen to what Kalaignar had said about the Hindus: “If everyone followed the tenets of Hinduism, as preached by Vivekananda, nothing could be greater than it. I am not against it. Since Muslims and Christians are minorities we have to support them to instill confidence among them. At the same time it is wrong not to support the Hindus because they are a majority.” When I spoke about God, I kept in mind the ideas of Anna and Kalaignar. The DMK has never preached against the God and religion as you assume. Those who could not directly face the socio, economic and political ideas of the DMK indulge in a mischievous campaign that the party is against God and Hindus. Kalaignar has always respected faiths and beliefs of people of all religions. DMK has campaigned against those who propagate communalism and fundamentalism with a view to destroying pluralism and communal harmony and seek to divide the nation. It will do it in the future also.I can only laugh at your suggestion that the BJP has grown. You ask neutral people to find out whether it is growing or declining”. However, this has not been the first time to respond in this fashion, as almost, he responded in the same manner, in 2015 also.

Stalin response to The Hindu 23-09-2018.my reply appearing

Responses to “The Hindu” as appearing in the “online”: I responded as follows  under that report, “As I have been listening to them since 1960s, I know Stalin is telling lies. That EVR broke Vinayaka idols is well-known to all, therefore, what Anna said is immaterial. Karunanidhi drank gruel and ate cake, but not any prasad, but, abused Hindu God. Had they really understood Vivekananda, then Karunanidhi would not have attempted to evict “Vivekanda House” from Ice-house. EVR, Anna and Karunanidhi never questioned Mohammedan and Christian scriptures and Gods, as they did against Hindu. Even in atheism, they could not follow secular atheism and that only exposes their duplicity” and in Tamil also. The other replies appearing clearly prove that the readers have not believed the story, as all know the true colours of Stalin and DMK.

Stalin response to The Hindu 17-10-2015

Same reply came from Stalin in 2015 also and “The Hindu” published[3]: Refuting the allegations that the DMK was anti-Hindu, party treasurer M.K. Stalin said 90 per cent of the party cadres were Hindus and their family members had faith in religion and god[4].  “There is a well-planned campaign to project that the DMK is anti-Hindu. But the family members of party leaders and cadre have faith in god. Even my wife is visiting all temples across the State and I never once asked her not to go. We do not stand in the way of those who have faith,” he told  The Hindu . Stalin, who had a meeting with a team of temple priests in Kumbakonam, said he visited Thirukoshtiyur temple in the first phase of his tour because it was there Saint Ramanuja, ignoring the warning of his teacher, climbed the temple tower and spoke aloud so that everyone could know what he had been taught.

Stalin visited temple- 2015-Tirukostiyur-2

The claim of followers of Thirumoolar: “We, the followers of Anna, have faith in Thirumoolar’s dictum  Ontrey Kulam Oruvaney Devan  (There is one community and one God). Our leader Kalaignar wrote dialogues for the tele-serial Ramanuja, because it was he who had paved way for entry of all communities, including Dalits, into the temples,” he said.  Rejecting the allegation that he was visiting temples and meeting priests in view of the coming election, the DMK leader said that he respected the sentiments of all sections of people and even in the past had visited temples and accepted the  poorna kumbam .  “I began Namakku Naamey in Kanyakumari and there I called on leaders of all religions. I have visited mosques and I have been invited to visit the church at Velankanni. Our leader is always given warm reception at Saidapet temple during election campaigns,” he said.  Asked about the feedback to his tour, he said people in the State were looking for a change and the DMK was the only alternative.

Stalin visited temple- 2015-Tirukostiyur

The 2015-drama of meeting “Bhattars, Archakas” etc: Actually, for “Namakku Namee” program, he was campaigning im Thajavur areas in September 2015 with his party cadres. He suddenly entered Sowmya Narayana temple at Thirukostiyur. His party cadres were reportedly taken aback, as it was not of the program[5]. However, the priests there welcomed with “Purnakumbam,” the traditional way of welcoming VIPs[6]. After going through the temple, he also had a “darshan” of the 106 feet high Gopura from which Sri Ramauja preached[7]. Perhaps, he tried to repeat “Ramanuja” to fool others. Because of the “Ramanuja” teleserial, some Vaishnavites started praising Karunanidhi. But, later, they came to know his hatred against Vaishnavism, as he blasphemed Rama, Ramayana etc. He also supported the goups that burned Rama pictures and conducted “Ravana Leela”! Thus, it is evident that he had gone there as an enthusiast rather than a devotee. Then he had meetings at Tiruvarur and other districts. He also met Bhattars, Archakas  etc., in Kamatchi Amman Kalyana mantap[8].  He also met the Bishop and other Christian representatives. Therefore, it is typical “secular drama” played by the anti-Hindu Stain nothing else.

Stalin visited temple- 2015-Tirukostiyur-3

Stalin wanted to know about “Thirukulathar” etc – PTI news 2015[9]: M K Stalin, DMK Treasurer, paid a surprise visit to an ancient Vaishnavite temple here during his ongoing state-wide tour to connect with people ahead of next year’s assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. Stalin, accompanied by his wife Durga, was welcomed with “poornakumbha mariyathai” (temple honours) by priests and officials at the entrance of the famous Sri Sowmya Narayanaswamy temple here in Sivaganga District. It was from the top of this temple tower that the 11th century revolutionary Vaishnavite saint Sri Ramanuja delivered the sacred “Ashtakshara” mantra – “Ohm Namo Narayanaya” – to the entire people of the village, defying his guru’s direction not to reveal it to anyone.Incidentally, Stalin’s father and DMK chief M Karunanidhi has written the script for a serial on Sri Ramanuja which is being telecast on ‘Kalaignar TV’ Stalin was taken to the tower from which Saint Ramanuja preached the important mantra to all the people so that they could get the blessings of Lord Narayana. This was the first time that a top level leader of DMK openly visited the temple, its officials said. Temple’s traditional priest for reciting Tamil hymns Tirukoshtiyur Madhavan told PTI that Stalin sought to know about Saint Ramanuja’s visit to the temple and the saint’s gesture in revealing the mantra and its meaning to all people irrespective of caste[10]. The priest also said Stalin visited the shrines of Sri Ramanuja and his guru (Thirukoshtiyur Nambi). Stalin asked “whether is it not Saint Ramanuja who named the Dalits as “Thirukulathaar” (son’s of Goddess Lakshmi), thousand years before Gandhi called them “Harijan“(People of Lord Vishnu)“. The DMK Treasurer, considered political heir apparent to Karunanidhi, has been meeting various sections of people and hearing their grievances in his campaign which he launched on September 20, 2015 to cover all 234 assembly constituencies in the state.

“Mad man” throwing chappal on Swami Ranganatha and the “wild” elephant killing mahout in Samayapuram!

“Mad man” throwing chappal on Swami Ranganatha and the “wild” elephant killing mahout in Samayapuram!

SriRangam - The Hindu version - 25-05-2018

The extreme, fanatical and radical groups  acting in Dravidastan: Sri Rangam has been sacred place, pilgrimage centre and abode of Gods and Goddesses for believing and devouted Hindus. However, it has been the target of the rabid Dravidian leaders from 1970 onwards by Annadurai, Karunanidhi, to anti-Hindu K. Viramani. When the former categories declared that, “The day the idols of Sri Ranganatha and Thillai Nataraja were destroyed with bombardments of tanks, that day is golden day for us.” As such venomous words were poured from the Chief Ministers of Tamilnadu and they always exhibited their anti-Hindu rants openly, such people have taken later that such type of shouts are allowed in the “Dravidian parlance.” The extreme, fanatical and radical groups have been targeting Sri Rangam by all means thereafter. The archbishop Arulappa also caught hold of Sri Rangam “Ganesh Iyer” converted to “Acharya Paul” for manufacturing evidences to promote “thomas myth” in India in 1980s. The bigoted K. Viramani installed a “Periyar statue” in the public road, in front of the Sri Rangam temple. The extreme Naxalite and CPML gang entered the temple and created problem. Now “a mad man” enters the sanctum sanctorum with knife, scissors, chappal etc. And then, the elephant became “wild” suddenly at Samyapuram temple to trample its mahout next day.

Chappal thrwon on Renganatha, Srirangam, 24-05-2018

Attacking temples, temple priests, looting temples and properties have become order of the day: As the people of Tamilnadu, have been living under these extreme, fundamentalist and fanatic groups since 1970s, and they have already witnessed, the so-called “Periyar” with all his “analytical wisdom” breaking Vinayaka idols, the black shirt DK gangs garlanding Rama, Sita, Lakhsmana with chappals and beating with chappals carrying in a procession, many temples and mutts attacked on one or the other pretext, for all the political incidences, the poor Brahmins were targeted, abused, beaten, their sacred threads cut, why even cut with aruval / knives without any reason, they may take these “incidences” as a part of neo-iconoclasts, modern-day Mohammedans and Indian brand of ISIS terrorists. Poor Hindus may continue pray and keep silence, “God would take care of”! About the looting temples and mutts, their properties, one need not explain, as it has become the order of the day.

Person who threw chappal- Srirangam 24-05-2018

Whether the obnoxious things brought inside were thrown or dropped inside sanctom sanctorium?: A 29-year-old man holding a soiled bag near the sanctum sanctorum at the Srirangam Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple caused anxious moments on 23-05-2018, Wednesday morning[1]. “The Hindu” says it is Wednesday, whereas, other papers point out, it was Thursday! The man, identified as R. Dharmaraj of Thiruvadaimaruthur in Thanjavur district, was said to be mentally unstable[2]. It is not known as to how the “mentally unstable” person has chosen Sri Rangam temple, when, there have been so many temples in and around Tanjore. Dharmaraj was standing in the queue along with other devotees around 10.30 a.m. when he dropped his bag on the step near the sanctum sanctorum, causing a flutter. The temple staff took him out and found a scissors, a penknife and discarded clothes in the bag. The incident went viral on social media and it was claimed that the man had flung the bag near the sanctum sanctorum. Temple authorities, however, maintained that the man had dropped the bag on the step near the sanctum sanctorum. So here also, the secular interpretation comes as to whether “the obnoxious things brought inside were thrown or dropped inside sanctum sanctorium.” How it has crossed all the security checks was also not explained by the authorities.

HR CE complaint to police 24-05-2018

Afterwards declarations, complaints show that the authorities wanted to hush up the issue: The Hindu goes on to explain, “The temple authorities performed Panchakavya Prokshana, a cleansing ritual, after the incident. The police said Dharmaraj had abused the temple security staff and prevented them from discharging their duty when they checked the bag. The Srirangam police arrested Dharmaraj and booked a case against him. The temple authorities have placed a request before the police to check personal belongings of devotees at all the three entrances of the shrine before letting them inside, and to intensify surveillance and security”. The same news has been reported by the TOI[3] as, “TRICHY: The Srirangam police arrested a 27-year-old man for preventing temple staff from discharging their duties and intimidating them with dire consequences after he was questioned for throwing a bag containing a knife inside Srirangam Ranganathaswamy temple on Thursday.” So, if one has to believe that this “mentally unstable” person could prevent the entire security personnel of the temple at mercy! Thus, the persons with “analytical wisdom” have to believe the story. And it happened next day as follows.

Elephant trampling mahout, Srirangam, 25-05-2018

Mahout trained elephant becoming wild and trampling him: Samayapuram Mariamman Temple remains closed after the temple elephant trampled G Gajendran, the mahout to death on 25-05-2018, Friday. Samayapuram Mariamman Temple remains closed after the temple elephant trampled the mahout to death on Friday[4]. Police said the incident took place near the temple premises premises in full view of shocked devotees. The mahout of the temple elephant of Samayapuram Mariamman Temple near Tiruchi was trampled to death by the pachyderm on Friday. The 12-year-old female elephant crushed the 42-year-old mahout under its legs at 11 am when devotees were moving towards the sanctum sanctorum for worship. “Masini was brought to the temple at 10.50 am by Gajendran. In the next ten minutes, it turned violent and pushed the mahout to the ground and trampled him. His body was taken out later,” superintendent of police, Trichy district, Zia Ul Haq told TOI[5]. Everyone knows elephants cannot become wild, unless they are provoked with extreme activities. Police said that devotees ran helter-skelter to safeguard themselves and in the chaos two women and a child were injured. Temple employees closed the gates of the area to prevent a rampage by the elephant. A video of the elephant trampling the mahout is also in circulation.

Samayapuram -elephant trampling mahout - 25-05-2018

Calm and co-operative elephant cannot become wild targeting only mahout and not any other: The video shows Masini stamping Gajendran multiple times, while someone raises an alarm. The incident triggered panic among the people in and around the temple. “Masini was generally very calm and cooperative. I wonder what provoked it to go out of control. The mahout usually brings it to the temple in the morning and takes it back to its shelter by night,” said a local resident, V P Muniappan[6]. On getting information, a team led by regional joint director of animal husbandry, Trichy Dr A Murugan rushed to the temple. He said that Masini got furious after someone allegedly pulled some hair from its tail, when it was blessing a couple who got married in the temple. The attempts of the mahout to calm the elephant down failed and it vented its anger on him. Forest department officials brought a kumki elephant to the temple to control Masini. While a team of veterinarians was about to administer tranquiliser, some mahouts managed to calm the elephant. Masini was then chained in a room inside the temple. Authorities planned to take Masini back to its shelter on Friday night with the help of the kumki elephant. Darshan was suspended following the tragedy and is expected to resume on Saturday. Samayapuram police registered a case based on a complaint by an eyewitness, G Achutan, 19. Preliminary investigations revealed that the elephant was not chained on Friday. Gajendran’s body was taken to Srirangam government hospital for post-mortem. He was a resident of Mahalikudi near Samayapuram and is survived by his wife, three sons and a daughter.

What should be done?: The Hindus should insist for the following:

  1. The Dravidian ideologists should change or the people should change them.
  2. They cannot play double game with the Hindu believers.
  3. Their tongues should be held hereafter, if they want to criticize Hindu religion, scriptures etc.
  4. Even under the category of “analytical wisdom,” Periyarism etc., they cannot do that.
  5. The rabid elements cannot be nurtured and protected under the guise of “imbalanced, disturbed etc., ” as such people cannot enter temple.
  6. The atheists, party members and other anti-Hindu type people should be expelled from the temple, including HR & CE.
  7. The secuirity ceck should be thorough and there should not be any deviation, evem for employee.
  8. The anti-Hindu forces, their movements trough the city within the seven prakaras should not be allowed under any pretext.
  9. Such elements, shop-keepers and others can be expelled.
  10. Sri Rangam temple should be protected just like “Golden temple” with seven prakaras and walls.

The Indian woman who went to Korea and became the Queen – the Korea-Indian connection – Do the pro-Tamil groups want to communalize it? [3]

Prof Nagarahan - korea - India

The claims of V. Nagarajan and Antartica Tamizhan: Nagarajan’s paper continues, “The materials gathered from multiple sources which includes intentional and unintentional resources related to the first century CE. Reveals that there was no kingdom by name Ayodhya in north India.  Further the cartographic maps particularly the Greek cartography highlighting the Eastern Hemisphere clearly showed the existence of Ay kingdom in south India and not in north India.

http://worldhistorymaps.info/images/East-Hem_400ad.jpg

The visual pattern clearly shows the evolution of Gaya kingdom in Korean peninsula over a period from BCE 100 to 400 CE.  The maps also clearly indicate the change in Tamilnadu all the kingdoms including the Ay kingdom were replaced by the Kalabras.  The presence of Ay and Kongu in Tamilnadu when the Gaya kingdom emerged will help the researchers to formulate a hypothesis to establish the Korean Queen Indian princess connection. The present paper goes to prove that historizing  the legend may lead to a tenable hypothesis that the princess be from south India particularly from Pandiya kingdom than from the Ayodhya kingdom”. Then, he concluded with, “The present paper further points out the direction for future research initiatives by proposing a new paradigm with new hypotheses, methodologies and new models”. Ironically, all these narratives are available in “Mintamil” website, where  one “Antartica Tamilan” has posted in Tamil. Though, we do not know whether Nagarajan has copied from “Antartica Tamilan” or both are one and the same person, it is evident that the “research” has been biased, preconceived and concocted much against the research methodology.

Korea Queen - tamilachi ruled

The aggressive U-tube propaganda on “Sembavala Rani”: As pointed out, the same stuff is converted into U-tube with photos and circulated. Particularly, they chose to praise heavily Kannan and Orissa Balu for the excellent, marvellous and extraordinary discover made[1]. Suggestuve narrative,  prompting description and story-telling pattern expose the propagandist nature. Particularly, these videos have been with same photographs, same narratives with male and female voices[2]. “Coral Shree” consolidated all stuff available in “Mintamil” in another video[3]. She claims that she has only discovered the tortoise route, similar jewelry worn by Tamil and Korean women, the fish symbol, “Sembavalam” and so on. Thus, it is evident that these have been “stage managed” and aimed at propaganda and self-promotion using their expertise. Under the banner of “Tamil Heritage Foundation,” they have brought a book “Historical, archaeological, linguistic, cultural and biological links between Korea and India – Kaya and Pandya” by Kannan and obviously translated in Tamil “Koreavin Tamil Rani”.

Korea Queen -RJB-photo

Provocative captions chosen for U-tubes: Some of the captions chosen for U-tubes have been following:

1.       The Korean goddess was a Tamil woman – the Korean embassy has been in confusion because of plot hatched by India. This has been blatantly anti-Indian nature, as if India tries to confuse the origin of the queen, tracing Ayodhya instead of ancient Tamizhagam.
2.      The goddess of the Korean people was a “Tamlilachi” – a suppressed History of Tamils. Note, here “Tamlilachi” connotes a fanatic and fundamentalist expression for Tamil woman. The “suppression” of Tamil history and such other accusations have been absurd and meaningless. Just claims are not enough, unless, historical evidences are produced.
3.      The “Tamlilachi” who ruled Korea. The fanatic and fundamentalist expression “Tamlilachi” has been mischievous and unhistorical.
4.      The other side of History – The Korean goddess was a Tamil woman [With the background photo of demolition of disputed structure at Ayodhya]. This also proves the pro-Tamil, anti-north, anti-BJP propaganda, smacks any worth of research.
5.      The Tamil Empress / Queen of Korea.

Whatever may be the origin, the claim of queen, empress, ruling Korea etc, have been far-fetched and unwarranted.

Korea Queen - Tamil history suppressed

What the videos want to convey?: The tone and tenor of the narratives, the way they are presented with photographs, the expressions used “suppressed history of Tamils,” “hidden truth of Tamil queen,” “the lot of India” etc., shows the intention of the U-tubes in circulation. Generally, in Tamilnadu, the Tamil linguistic chauvinism has been order of the day and such groups could exploit people easily under one or the other pretext.  Though, the concepts of race has been proved myth, they have been continue to stick to such unhistorical race hypotheses and theories exhibiting their attitude of racism and racialism. Such ideologists and promoted experts still talk, interpret and write in terms of “Aryan” and “Dravidian” races and so on. The Tamil diaspora, where pro-Tamil, former LTTE associates, radical Tamil activists and such groups have been active with resources, they have been carrying out such propaganda with ulterior motives. At any cost, the “Tamil chauvinism” cannot be boiled, super-heated and turned to “Tamil separatism” with this type of propagandist attitude. So under such circumstances, the videos and related contents with intent, purport and purpose raise many serious questions in the Indian context.

Korea Queen - Indias plan

Researchers cannot be partisan, anti-Indian and separatist activist: Researchers do not accuse each other or present unhistorical narratives with emotional inducement and excitement for any linguistic group with racial tinge. Particularly, Kannan like experts living in Germany, Germany citizen knows very well how racism works in European countries and Tamilnadu. The “Dravidastan” / “Thani-Tamilnadu”claims are made still here in Tamilnadu lon every pretext. Therefore, the narrtives, symbols, photos, used show anti-India propaganda also. Why then these researchers indulge in such activities?  Incidentally, just last month, their associate and partner, Subashini Tremmel[4] indulged in promoting “thomas myth” through a video[5], that has been blatantly unhistorical and supporting church frauds. Former Archbishop was involved with forged research with Achya Paul and the cae went to Madras high court. Though, the case was settled out of court to save the honour of the church and the bishop, it exposed the dubious research, manufacture of forged evidences and fabrication of copper plates. Though, it was pointed out to her, she kept silent. Therefore, definitely, a doubt arises as to what exactly these researchers want to do with Indians and India? As they have been well-resourced, well-placed and well-informed persons, it is unbelievable that they could have involved in such activities.  As few suggestions are added to conclude:

Suro and Heo ok

  1. Historical research should be free from bias, prejudice and preconceived ideas.
  2. As “Aryan-Dravian race” hypotheses and theories have been declared unhistorical, such interpretation would not do any good in research.
  3. Indians cannot be divided on the basis of linguistic interpretation, excessive repetition of myth-making without any regard for history, historicity and historical evidences.
  4. “Kumarikkandam” hypothesis cannot be a basis for historiography disregarding historical evidences and chronology.
  5. In SEA, the lengends, myhistory and narratives have been more in Sanksrit [not that with any bias], supported by inscriptioonal evidences.
  6. The pre-Pallava inscriptions of SEA should be an eye-opener for Indian researchers, as their Pallava inscriptions are dated later.
  7. As people of Bengal, Orissa, Andhra and Tamilnadu interacted with the SEA countries, all of their influences could be found, but, without any linguistic bias.
  8. In act, the contacts of Bengal, Orissa, and Andhra have been more than Tamilnadu, however, during the medieval period, the Cholas had indelible impression on many factors.
