How is that Indians still do not know as to “Good Friday” is “Good” or “Bad” or that day is for mourning or celebration?

How is that Indians still do not know as to “Good Friday” is “Good” or “Bad” or that day is for mourning or celebration?

why Indians do not know about Good Fridsay 25-03-2016Business people want to do business on holidays: In a week filled with public holidays including Holi, Good Friday and Easter [(25-03-2016 (Friday), 26-03-2016 (Saturday) and 27-03-2016 (Sunday)], e-commerce sites have tried to capitalise on the four-day weekend by luring shoppers with heavy discounts[1]. It is quite natural thay business people want to do business on holidays! Therefore, the use of term ‘good Friday’ in a promotional campaign by E-commerce firm Snapdeal on Good Friday, a day observed to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, triggered a row, after which the company apologised[2], as reported by the Indian press is intriguing. It added the feason that the content of the promotions did not go down well with members of the Christian community, as despite its name, Good Friday is not a day of celebration. Instead, it is the day on which Christians commemorate the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. It is a day of fasting and penance for the community. It is in this context that some Christians felt that the advertisements put out by Snapdeal and Myntra were in bad taste[3]. Though, these media-guys suddenly became so “christian” to defend christians had not been intelligent enough to poin out the faux pas. Ironically, the so-called intelligent or secular Indian media did not point out when the ads were put on.

Snapdeal Good Friday 40 percent offerSnapdeal and Myntra offers on Good Friday: Issuing an (sic) statement, the e-tailer said: “We regret the tag line used. It is an error on our part”. “We extend our sincere apologies to all whose feelings we may have hurt inadvertently. We will work to ensure that something like this never happens again,” said a Snapdeal spokes person[4]. To cash in on the extended weekends due to Holi and Good Friday, Snapdeal had sent promotional e-mails to its customers with a subject line “It’s a really really good Friday|Flat 40% Off[5]. Another retailer Myntra also reportedly run a similar promotional campaign offering steep discounts ranging from 50 per cent to 80 per cent to its buyers on the day[6]. Despite several efforts, Myntra company officials could not be reached for comments. However, a section of people (Christians) felt offended to this as Good Friday is not a day of celebration.

why Indians do not know about Good Fridsay - Christians object-25-03-2016It (the objection of Christians) started with Goa: “I was appalled when I got the app notification from Myntra,” said Fernando Monte Da Silva, a journalist from Panjim in Goa. “I was shocked at the ignorance and insensitivity on display.” Silva said the prefix “Good” often misleads people into thinking it is a day for celebration. There are several theories surrounding the etymology of Good Friday, one of them being that the day is “good” because Christ showed his love for mankind by dying for their sins. However, Silva said this confusion could not be used an excuse in the case. “I had a professor who wished me for Good Friday, but that is an honest mistake,” said Silva. “In a company as big as Myntra, I would assume that there would be levels of scrutiny before such content is (are) put out. Ignorance is one thing, but when you’re using it as a promo to generate revenue, that’s just taking it a tad too far.” Silva shared a screenshot of the alert on his Facebook page and triggered a debate over whether sheer ignorance was at play or whether the content writers had pushed the boundaries of creativity. Thus, this news was also created out of Twitter only!

While few BJP leaders were wrong, Modi was correct on “Good Friday”: The faux pas occurred on a day when two senior BJP leaders were today left embarrassed after they set Twitter abuzz with criticism by “wishing happiness” on the occasion of Good Friday. After all when the business people with all nuances could not know “Good Friday” is “bad”, how the poor BJP leaders know. Any way, Modi tweeteed, “Good Friday is a day of prayer & a day to remember the noble, pious & compassionate thoughts of Jesus Christ, that touched many lives”! Any way, these Hindutwa guys have not been so sophisticated as the crooked, atheist and secular Karunanidhi who wishes and weeps dramatically for all non-Hindu festivals or mournings without fail, even if they forget.

Tech In Asia ‘s campaign against campaign:  Eye-popping sales and deals of the week are pretty standard marketing gimmicks for retailers across the world, online or offline[7], thus noted one Techniasia. In India, where ecommerce is seeing breakneck growth, taking up any opportunity to promote sales has become a pretty standard deal. There are Diwali sales, Christmas deals, regional celebrations and in true American fashion, even back to school campaigns. However, it has failed to record that these campaigners too had gone in “American fashion” but, took it as “Black Friday”! Over the weekend, two Indian biggies – Snapdeal and Myntra, owned by Flipkart – pushed the envelope so far, it all fell apart. They used Good Friday, the day observed to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, as promotional material. Not surprisingly, customers lashed out online, thus, Techniasia continued its big lie, as if “all customers” indulged in such lashing out. “We know it’s a Good Friday when you get 50-80 percent off,” said a Myntra campaign[8]. Snapdeal went along similar lines, saying it was a “really really good Friday,” peddling a flat forty percent off campaign on the website. Snapdeal has since apologized for the faux pas, but Myntra just told Tech In Asia it had no comments i.e, they could not be reached[9].

Indians do not know Good Fridsay - Modi and his collegues-25-03-2016Snapdeal’s Arvind confessed that they were ignorant about Good Friday!: That’s telling, given how a marketing campaign in these companies would have to be vetted and approved by an entire team before it went live, and couldn’t simply be a slip by one person. “There is pressure of increasing sales on all retailers, and it’s not just on online ones. But this purely a reflection of the ineptness of the marketing department at these companies,” chairman of management consulting firm TechnopakAdvisors told Tech in Asia. However, most industry watchers said this wouldn’t make a lasting dent on either company’s brand image. India is a secular country, but about 80 percent of its population is Hindu. Industry experts say the blunder may have been lost on a number of customers, who themselves may not be well acquainted with the significance of the day of mourning. “This is ignorance, but this won’t hurt the companies in the long run. When it comes to brand image, I don’t think customers will remember for too long,” Arvind said.

Black Friday and Good Friday in American way: BlacThe business people obviously confused with “Black Friday” (sales and shopping) with “Good Friday”! Thanksgiving Day in the United States (the fourth Thursday of November). Since 1932, it has been regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in the US, and most major retailers open very early (and more recently during overnight hours) and offer promotional sales. Black Friday is not an official holiday, but California and some other states observe “The Day After Thanksgiving” as a holiday for state government employees, sometimes in lieu of another federal holiday such as Columbus Day[10]. Many non-retail employees and schools have both Thanksgiving and the following Friday off, which, along with the following regular weekend, makes it a four-day weekend, thereby increasing the number of potential shoppers. It has routinely been the busiest shopping day of the year since 2005[11].

Has Christianity and Christ failed in India?: From Snapdeal to Myntra amd politicians do not know about the significance of “Good Friday”, how common people of India know? For example, how many of Indian Christians, who were converted from Hindu religion really know about it mourn? The missionaries had been fooling the heathen Indians, idolatrous Hindus and what not for the last 300 years, but, yet, the “enlightened” converted Christians could not understand the theology of Good Friday and Easter. This clearly proves the religious fraud, failure of Christianity and Christ and utter uselessness of their theology. Why then thousands of missionaries of A to Z denominations come here, spent millions and loot millions to foll Indians and also fool themselves. Let them take a relook at themselves, as the commericial companies did blunder.

Why the priest of Gunadala Mary Matha Church is involved in sexploitation and it is reported selectively?

Why the priest of Gunadala Mary Matha Church is involved in sexploitation and it is reported selectively?

Mary Matha Church Gunadala, Vijayawada, where a priest is involved in sex-porn

Gunadala Mary Matha Church priest involved in sexual exploitation: The management of a Catholic church at Gunadala Mary Matha Church here, which landed in a major controversy following charges of sexual misconduct of a priest, reportedly began inquiry into the episode[1]. “The Times of India” mentions its name, whereas, “The Hindu” does not mention the name of the church involved. The roots of this case seem to be deep as the city police reportedly had to take 11 members into police custody for interrogation as on Saturday 12-03-2016[2]. The religious head had paid ransom to a gang[3]. Not satisfied with the payment, the gang demanded more money and threatened the victim, who approached the police. The priest is understood to have told the police that he paid more than Rs. 1 crore to the gang[4]. He alleged the extortionists, who befriended him, morphed his image in a pornographic film and collected money from him. “It is a fact that a gang blackmailed the religious head and extorted huge money from him. We are investigating the case from all angles,” said City Police Commissioner D. Gautam Sawang.

Mary Matha Church Gunadala, VijayawadaThe involved priest has already been accused of misappropriation of funds etc: However, the church management is inquiring into the behaviour of the religious head and his source of income. It was alleged that a portion of the funds allocated to the shrine and for the poor were misused by him. The City Task Force police collected details of the gang from the priest and rounded up many of the accused. Police are investigating why the religious head was targeted, how he was trapped and the mode of payment made to the extortion gang. Investigation officers are trying to find out whether the pornographic film was original or morphed, if so where the film was shot and the persons involved in the act, including the woman. Police collected the call data of the gangsters and are collecting scientific evidence in the case. The media has been very selective in reporting the facts, as evidently, a Catholic priest has been involved.

The Church management is planning to replace the priest after conducting an inquiry: It is said that a follower of the religious head shared sensitive information about the priest, including his financial standing, with the gang which lured him on the pretext of offering a party a few months ago. Later, they started blackmailing him. The role of some media persons came to the fore as they took duplicate copies of the film and collected money from the priest for not telecasting his illegal activities in the news channels. “The extortion gang committed similar offences in other places in the State. We are trying to find out whether the media personnel and advocates whose phone numbers were surfaced in the call data recordings were part of the gang?” an investigation officer told The Hindu . It is learnt that the church management is planning to replace the priest after conducting an inquiry[5]. The heads of the church reportedly sought clarification from the priest on the allegations. However, nothing has been reported the version of the accused priest in the case. In fact, his name itself is not revealed.

Bomga Suresh sexual harassment APJuly 2015 incidence of sexual harassment a girl by three boys in Gunadala: In and around the Mary Matha Church, Gunadala, there have been several incidences of sexual abuses of girls as selectively reported by the media. A minor girl was reportedly subjected to sexual abuse by five youths at Bethleham Colony in Gunadala[6]. The incident came to light on Saturday. Machavaram police took three of the accused into custody, and registered a case under section 376 of the IPC. A 15-year-old girl, resident of Carmel Nagar in Gunadala, went to the Mary Matha Church along with her boyfriend. He and the four other accused are alleged to have drugged her, took her to a room in Bethleham Colony and sexually abused her for two days. Three of the accused finally dropped the girl in a semi-conscious state at her home in Carmel Nagar on July 17.2015. Her mother, employed as a sweeper by the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC), had by then lodged a complaint with police. She suspected the involvement of the victim’s boyfriend and his associates. The victim is a class VII dropout. Her boyfriend works at a mobile phone repair shop in Gundala. The police took her boyfriend and two of his associates into custody. They are also on the lookout for the others[7].

Bomga Suresh sexual harassment AP.2Bonga Suresh, priest involved in sexual scandal: Bonga Suresh, a pastor of a Church / parish RCM priest in Krishna district continuously harassed a woman sexually. The video gives full details, as to how he has been sexploiting the girls there. Obviously, the young woman had been threatened as it would affect the image of the church and hence she narrated her sexploitation in limited terms, but exposing the pastor. At one stage,, she was even forced to commit suicide. In fact, she informed the Bishop, but, he refused to entertain her plea, obviously for the honour of the church[8]. Though, the Church denomination is not mentioned, the involvement, sexploitation etc., are exposed thoroughly.

Pornography was discussed during the youth Christian convention, October 2015: In the National Youth Conference of the Assemblies of God in Hyderabad during October 23-25, 2012, Duke Jeyaraj talked about perils of pornography and bust the biggest excuse people use to watch porn which is, “I am watching porn to learn sex technique which I will only use inside of marriage.” Other hot topics were covered brilliantly by other experts and I thank God for each one of them[9]. Whether, it was negative suggestion or otherwise, the very discussion would lead to young people differently. Particularly, when the Indian church has been rocked by thousands of sex, rape and sexploitation cases, why such things are encouraged is not known.

The biased, prejudiced and partial reporting of the media: As many happenings have been taking place involving religious heads in different parts of India and such events are reported, commented upon and viewed by the leading TV-channels, media experts and journalists in not only print and electronic media, but also in social network, the bias in their responses is noted very easily. Much hue and cry has been made about the “World Cultural Festival” conducted on the banks of Yamuna from March 11th to 13th 2016. The private visit of temples in Andhra by Nityananda has been sensationalised by the media, meticulously repeating his 2010 incidence and all. But, a Christian priest has been involved, the way the media reports can be noted. In spite of pornography is involved, the media wants to play down and suppress the facts. It is just like the JNU porn CD issue. Here also CDs are in circulation, but, no TV channel broadcast as done in Nityananda case, why? Who imposes such restrictions? Why such partiality comes into play? Is Nityananda been different from Joseph Palanivel Jeyapaul or any other rapist, child rapist or paedophile? When he has been reinstated[10], the same media experts kept silence, they did not respond the way they do in facebook and twitter.

Preventing Modi to become PM, opposing BJP and breaking NDA

April 9, 2014

Preventing Modi to become PM, opposing BJP and breaking NDA

Vedaprakash

The anti-Modi rhetoric of old partners of NDA: All most all non-BJP parties except the new allies have started their chorus of “Preventing Modi to become PM, opposing BJP and breaking NDA” one way or the other. The moment Narendra Modi was announced as the PM candidate for BJP, the first party to break from the NDA alliance was JD(S) with the rising rhetoric pitch of Nitish Kumar against Modi. Ironically, he was with the NDA for 17 years and appreciated Modi also. He was suggesting that he might accept L. K. Advani as the PM candidate but not Modi, as he would not be accepted by the secular partners. But, the BJP proceeded with the candidature of Modi, in spite of the fact that even Advani did not like it earlier, but had to accept.

Modi – polarizing or taking NDA to win: Then suggestions started circulating that Modi would dominate the scene till NDA gets majority and then Advani would be made PM so that NDA would get maximum majority. Such idea was nurtured in the TV debates usually carried on with the selected ideologues. Even Chandangupta was seen accepting such proportion in such forced debates. That is Modi would be exploited for attracting new voters, youth and polarize, thereby, some Muslim votes also, but if enough seats are won, then Advani would be declared as PM, so that through after poll alliance, more parties could be brought into NDA.

Mission 272+ and the reality: Some media carried on Narendra Modi’s ‘Mission 272+’ as follows[1]:

  1. As Modi is likely to focus on Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, which account for 210 Lok Sabha seats and if BJP could win more seats that what they had won a paltry 31 seats out of 210 in 2009, then, they ould in a better position. Thus, BJP has to perform hard and opinion polls predict that the BJP is likely to grab at least 100 seats from these areas.

  1. Of course, Modi could do well in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Delhi and Karnataka, which account for 138 members to the Lok Sabha. Here, as BJP is directly pitted against the Congress in most of the seats it could have an edge over Congress.

  1. Modi has already joined the ranks of Jyoti Basu, Mohanlal Sukhadia, Sheila Dikshit and Naveen Patnaik in leading his party to victory in a state three times in a row.  In 2014, the combined force of AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa and BJD chief Naveen Patnaik may influence Modi’s fortunes a lot. It is now for the smaller parties to decide which way to go, and to settle their priorities, local or national. Tamil Nadu, Odhisha, Punjab, Haryana, Assam and the North-East account for 118 LS seats. Modi already has a rapport with J Jayalalithaa and Purno Sangma, while a large section of BJD is also reportedly keen to join the NDA.

  1. Many opinion polls have already predicted a positive swing for the BJP in Uttar Pradesh and the elevation of master strategist Amit Shah has become an icing on the cake. There is one school of thought that argues that the party is waiting for an opportune time to flag Modi’s caste antecedent but it is caught in its usual dilemma of whether a casteist projection would conflict with his popular image as a development and good governance votary.

  1. Modi cautioned that unless the BJP fine-tuned its booth management, it could end up with more misses than hits. The campaign panel chief wants that the Delhi brass step out of their confines, visit each state, sit with the leaders and office-bearers, hold detailed discussions and then come up with a state-specific draft. It is now-or-never scenario for the BJP.

The BJP political masters started their campaign with confidence, of course, with strategy. They moved their coins attracting partners step by step, as they knew very well about the counter-attack of their opponents. Particularly, the AAP posed a spoiler and evidently aiding and abetting the corrupt congress. Unlike other parties BJP has to fight the battle within and outside also due to changes envisaged. Thus, the regional mathematics was learned ahead before declaring anything openly. Through mediators, BJP approached small but strong regional players in mobilizing numbers[2].

BJP is gaining in south India again: Contrary to the political predictions and secular-communal debates etc., more regional parties have been attracted to either Modi or BJP. Definitely, in Tamilnadu it scored a victory by roping up alliance with DMDK, MDMK, PMK andIJK[3]. In AP, TDP and others are ready to join NDA and because of the Telengana tangle, they have been calculative about the seats and the sentiments of Telugu people. Even, in Kerala, it is reported that the percentage of BJP is increasing and in Trivandrum, it could create some wonders. Thus, suddenly media starts realizing that Modi is helping NDA to win alliance from south[4] to north! When Dravidian parties other than DMK and AIADMK are accepting Modi, why not others is the mute question.

The Comedy play of AAP: After the resignation of AAP on Feb.14, 2014, the political scenario was clear with the major parties facing battle straight. However, the regional parties posed threat both to UPA and NDA and now with the intrusion of AAP in the north. Though AAP posed as anti-corruption crusader, its short-lived 49 days rule exposed the AAP-Cong tactful alliance. AAP adopted hot and cool policy with Congress, but very aggressive towards BJP, thus, creating a picture that it is supporting Congress indirectly. After losing power, it starts attacking BJP more and almost forgetting the list of multi-crore scams. Aravind Kejariwal was just creating nuisance to BJP by going to Gujarat and contesting from Varanasi.

The media game-plan of Instigating Muslims against Muslims: The media experts went on approaching Muslim leaders of all parties getting their expressed opinion that they would accept Modi as the PM candidate, as he was responsible for the 2002 riots. This point is harped upon again and again by the TV-channel pundits to corner the BJP spokesman. It is even suggested that if Modi apologize for 2002 riots, Muslims might turn towards him. Rajnath was reportedly apologized for that and it was expected that Modi would follow the suit. But immediately, the Maualanas were interviewed and opinion was created that even if Mody apologize, they would not vote for Modi.

Inconsistency of the Muslim leaders towards Modi: Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind general secretary Maulana Mehmood Madani told, “In Gujarat, Jamiat workers on the ground have told me that in several Assembly segments, Muslims voted for Modi. There is a perceptible change of heart and circumstances are different now. I agree the times are changing. Muslims in Gujarat are economically better off than in several states which have so-called secular governments in power,” he told Rahul Kanwal in an exclusive interview on Seedhi Baat[5]. However, later clarified that he declined to either reject or endorse Modi’s possible candidature as Prime Minister[6]. In October 2012, as he called Modi a “tyrant”, the BJP tried to ban him to enter Gujarat[7].

Azam Khan type of Anti-Modism: On 28-01-2014, Azam Khan alarmed that there was a big conspiracy going on to divide Muslims … If Muslims were divided, Narendra Modi would form the next government (at the Centre) and therefore they have to remain united, he said while addressing a conference of madrassa managers and principals in Lucknow[8]. As usual he called Modi “murderer”. Many times, his angry was turned towards Amit Shah also. Harping upon the 2002 riots, it is claimed that Muslims would never forgive Modi and vote for him and therefore, BJP cannot get the votes of Muslims.

The tirade of Mayavati against Modi: On 21-02-2014, Mayawati told that they will put their “entire strength to prevent Narendra Modi from becoming the Prime Minister. It is in interest of the country to prevent the BJP from coming to power (in the next elections),” Ms. Mayawati told reporters outside Parliament[9]. She claimed that minority community members were apprehensive about  Modi. “If Modi wins, it will give a boost to the communal forces in the country,” the BSP supremo said, adding BJP is not trustworthy as “it says something and does something else”. But she was with BJP in forming government in UP twice.

AAP, SP and others turning against Modi: On 16-03-2014, BJP leader and Lok Sabha MP  from Hamirpur (Himachal Pradesh) Anurag Thakur on Sunday criticized Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal for leading an unruly party and helping Congress in its effort to stop Narendra Modi from becoming the Prime Minister[10]. On 31-03-2014, Modi himself accused that Congress was conspiring to prevent him from becoming PM[11]. On the same day, Mulayam asserted that “SP will not let BJP succeeded in Lok Sabha polls and make Narendra Modi the next PM. If they (BJP) get defeated in Uttar Pradesh, Modi will never become PM,” Asking Muslims to remain alert, he said BJP and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) had close relationship and Congress’ role was also suspicious as far as providing facilities to Muslim community was concerned[12].

Non-BJP parties dictating about the PM candidate: Ironically, the non-BJP parties were suggesting their choice of Prime Minister candidate, if they wanted to be with NDA. Shiv Sena was suggesting that Sushma Swaraj would be an ideal choice of PM. Then it was changed to suggest that Sushma Swaraj might be better choice, yet some suggested Arun Jaitely. But, on 22-03-2014 Prakash Sigh Badal unwittingly declared that Arun Jaitely would be the Deputy PM[13]. Recently also, one BJP minister of MP said that Sushma could be the next PM[14]. On 25-03-2014, Even Digvijay of Congress also suggested this[15], when they never declared who was their PM candidate. Of course, Mulayam Singh, Mamta Banerjee have been telling that they would not allow Modi to become PM.

Ex-MPs, MLAs of Congress and other parties joining BJP: In spite of the domination of Modi, definitely, some regional parties started aligning with BJP forming partners of NDA. Thus, the apprehension made earlier that except Akali Dal all others are going away from NDA proves wrong. Not only that, even former ministers, MPs, MLAs of other parties like Congress, JD (S) etc have started joining BJP. One way, it has become headache for BJP, as they were not only criticizing Modi with harsh language or hate-speech, some of them have been of tainted category. And the BJP has to pay heavy price, if they come to power.

BJP is different, Modi is different – new argument of the media: Then started the argument that BJP has become Modi-party, one-man party and no other has any say in BJP. This is the media-floated argument put forward now, but there are few takers. The politicians know very well who is controlling whom and how the parties, leaders of parties and others work and function at the time of winning and losing elections. But why the media play doublegame against BJP is not known. At one side, they project that BJP / NDA has been gaining vote %, Modi the favourite PM and so on , on the other side, they also accuse that BJP is sticking to the communal agenda, Amit Shah is doing that in UP and so on.

Modi could win and get votes from all: The conservative but posed as progressive media also slowly accepted the Modi-factor accepted that there would be a change in voting pattern with reversals also. Thus, “the Hindu” (March 21.2014) reported[16], “A large-scale attitudinal survey shows that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance has gained significantly across most parts of the country as well as among most social groups. The only exceptions are the Scheduled Tribes and Muslims.” Thus, finally, the media has to accept that Modi would be acceptable to all and people would vote for him.

Hate speech, Indian media and secular parties – Why Modi is targeted maximum?

April 1, 2014

Hate speech, Indian media and secular parties – Why Modi is targeted maximum?

Why Modi is targeted maximum?: During the March 2014, the Congress leaders have vehemently targeted and attacked Narendra Modi with very harsh words and expressions in Hindi countering his comments and as well as heaping new abusive rhetoric. Modi has been targeted by all comparing him Hitler, Stalin, Pol-pot, Coebelles and so on. He is repeatedly mentioned as killer, murderer, butcher, man-eater[1] and what not. Perhaps, no other Indian politician has been targeted like this than Modi. Whenever Modi spoke, it was telecast immediately, the comments against his speech was recorded from the opponent parties like Congress, SJD, etc and broadcast. In fact, the comments of Nitish and his spokesman were shown as if they cover point by point.

“Chaiwala” aspire to become PM: The “Tea-vendor aspiring to becoming PM” attracted the detractors maximum, thus   In November 2013, Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Naresh Agarwal[2] ridiculed that “tea-vendor cannot become a PM”. And in January 2014, the arrogant and bigheaded Mani Shakar Iyer sarcastically retorted that if he comes to their venue, he can serve tea – Aiyar had mocked Modi’s prime ministerial ambitions and said a place would be identified for the Gujarat chief minister to distribute tea at AICC . When asked, when he would apologize for making such personal remarks, refused[3]. Thus, the “Chaiwala”, Chai-bechnewala, etc., promoted “chai pe charcha” attracting masses and evidently the foreign media[4]. Thus, this obviously made the rival political parties to counter. Though, they have been questioning Modi-economics, Gujarat Model of development etc., they are confined to the elite and not interested among others like “chaiwala”.

Many Congress leaders joining BJP rattled Congress[5]: At the top level, Congress has been the most affected, reflecting its image of a sinking ship in these elections. MP’s  Jagadambika Pal from Domariaganj, D. Purandeshwari (daughter of TDP founder N.T.Rama Rao) from Vishakhapatnam, Rao Inderjit Singh from Gurgaon, Vitthal Radadiya from Porbandar and Satpal Maharaj from Pouri Garhwal are some of the big names to have quit the party to join BJP. Sanjay Kaka Patil of the NCP and Rajesh Verma of the BSP have also joined the saffron party. In far flung Arunachal Pradesh, strongman Gegong Apang has also switched over to the BJP. The first big name to change affiliation was Ram Vilas Paswan of the Lok Janshakti Party. Thus, “Congress – sinking ship” discussion openly came out.

Modi-critics joining BJP: Pramod Muthalik, the Ram Sena chief joined BJP, but immediately, his membership was denied[6]. Ironically, when his followers attacked Pub-girls that created controversy, he was targeted by the media for his medieval mindset, hooliganism and Talibanism. At that time, he criticized the BJP and other leaders in his interviews given to the media. The worst critic of JD (U) Sabir Ali also joined BJP, when he was expelled from the party, but within a day, his membership was cancelled / annuled[7]. Of course, it was reported that he himself wanted to hold, till something was resolved[8].  Of course, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, the Muslim face of BJP opposed his entry. Interestingly, all are happening within a week.

M J Akabar – a critic turned BJPwala: In some cases, those who abused Modi have joined BJP and eating their words. Thus, when M. J. Akbar joined BJP and nominated as its spokesman, what he told about Modi earlier haunted and dunted[9]:  “Modi is an ideologue, with a difference. The difference is hysteria. It is an edgy hysteria, which can mesmerise; and it easily melts into the kind of megalomania that makes a politician believe that he is serving the larger good through a destructive frenzy against a perceived enemy. In Hitler’s case, the enemy was the Jew; in Modi’s case the enemy is the Muslim. Such a politician is not a fool; in fact, he may have a high degree of intellect. But it is intellect unleavened by reason, and untempered by humanism”. Now, he has to defend Modi as a Muslim or secular journalist or spokesman of BJP itself!

How and why Modi is dubbed as Hiter: Advani sidelined, Murali Manohar Joshi was shifted from Varanasi facilitating Modi to contest, Jaswant Singh, the veteran leader was expelled when he tried to contest from the same constituency for which he was denied ticket and other events made critics and detractors of Modi to accuse him of dictatorship, one-upmanship and so on. Perhaps, this emboldens the Congress and other non-BJP parties to criticize him as Hitler and so on. But, after all, this is their internal matter and other parties need not worry, as they have more problems of dissatisfaction, dissent, and defection than BJP. Yet, they and of course, media try to criticize BJP.

17-years coalition partner becomes the worst critic: BJP and JD (S) had been fighting elections for the past 17 years and suddenly, when Modo was declared as the PM candidate, Nitish broke away from the NDA. This created a lot of heat between the partners. Once Nitish praised Modi for his governance, but now he started criticizing him. On March 4, 2014 Nitish Kumar[10] called Modi “a follower of (German dictator Adolf) Hitler and Goebbels. After Sonia, perhaps, Nitish has been the worst attacker of Modi. He called Modi “a follower of (German dictator Adolf) Hitler and Goebbels.”  Here, Goebbles was the Nazi propagandist Paul Joseph Goebbels.  But, in spite of multi-crore, mega-crore scams and many corrupt practices, Rahul and Sonia go on claim their virtues and none questioned them for their vices.

Secular historians belive that Modi cannot function as Hitler: Ramachandara Guha, wrote[11], “His more alarmist critics speak of Modi as an Indian Hitler or Mussolini. In fact, a politician the Gujarat chief minister resembles more, at least in his personal style, is the late Hugo Chavez. To be sure, their political ideologies and economic models are at variance. Even so, Modi is akin to Chavez in presenting himself as a lone outsider taking on the Establishment, in his fusion of his State with his self, and in the demonization of his opponents”. After discussing at lengh, he concludes[12], “ But to worry about the return of the Emergency or an era of ‘fascism’ is to succumb to a premature and unfortunate alarmism. It may be that in May 2014 we shall have an arrogant and sectarian prime minister instead of the weak and incompetent prime minister we now have. But Indian democracy, not to speak of India itself, will survive.”.

Rahul compared Modi with Hitler: On March 7, 2014, Rahul indirectly attacked Modi comparing Hitler and Gandhi[13] i.e, Hiler used to shout but not Gandhi at a rally in Aurangabsad, Maharastra( महात्मा गांधी और हिटलर की तुलनाकरतेहुए राहुल गांधी ने कहा कि जर्मन तानाशाह चिल्लाता था क्योंकि उसमें विश्वास का अभाव था। लेकिन क्या गांधीजी कभी चिल्लाए, नहीं चिल्लाए क्यों कि उनमें विश्वास था।).In another Maharashtra town this morning, Mr Gandhi told a young audience at an engineering college, “My becoming or not becoming PM does not matter. What is most important is that everyone here, specially women and youth in country, feel that this is their own country.” Here too, he talked of love. And Mr Modi, again without naming him. The German dictator Hitler, Mr Gandhi said, shouted because he lacked confidence. But Mahatma Gandhi did not need to shout. “There is no need for saying things aggressively. You can say it with love. Many people will be with you,” he said. However, suddenly these sites[14] start disappearing!

Chaiwala, Chowkidar to Hitler – the changing criticism of Congress: On march 10, 2014 Rahul compared Modi with Hitler and also alleged the he stole the land of the farmers[15]. Rahul , without naming Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, launched a blistering attack, comparing Modi to Adolf Hitler and mocking him by saying the country does not need a chowkidar (watchman). Speaking at public meeting here Deoli in Tonk district of Rajasthan on Tuesday, he hinted at Modi when he said: “Adolf Hitler thought people had no knowledge and he himself knew everything.” Hitler was another leader who only spoke of himself and made tall claims, Rahul  said.“A true leader does not lecture his people but goes among them and listens to them. A true leader, like Mahatma Gandhi, does not have any ghamand (arrogance),” Lambasting the BJP leader, he said what was happening in Gujarat was chori as land belonging to farmers were being snatched for select industrial houses[16].

After Massod threatening BJP lists out Hate-speeches of Congresswalas: BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi who read out a list of comments made by the Congress leadership including the infamous “Maut ke Saudagar” used by Sonia Gandhi said the party has negatively drawn comparisons between Mr. Modi and Adolf Hitler by  Rahul Gandhi,  demon king Ravan by Salman Khurshid and has also called him “Lahu Purush” by Manish Tewari[17]. “This goes on to show what kind of atmosphere the Congress wants in the country. They do not want to fight the election on the issue of governance, development etc., and have deviated from dignity and decorum that are hallmarks of a democracy,” Mr. Trivedi said.

Modi a “combination of Hitler and Stalin”: From the land of God’s own country, on March 26, 2014 at Kozhikode, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala tapped on the anxieties of the high-range farmer community with regard to the Kasturirangan report, pressed the Congress party line for the need for secular politics and called Narendra Modi a “combination of Hitler and Stalin”, but spared no word about the price rise and corruption scams trailing the UPA 2 government[18]. Thus, he excelled his cong-masters to criticize Modi!

Do not allow Modi to become PM: The non-BJP parties used cry that they would oppose the communal BJP at any cost. The APP like parties just like Communists shoult that they oppose both BJP and Congress. Of course, the so-celled third front, federal front etc., are also scream that they oppose both BJP and Congress dubbing them as communal. Thus, the secular and communal debate has become useless now. Some interpret that Congress has cleverly posed caste against communalism by assuring that they support reservation in the private sector also. BJP doubted that Congress and Communists would again come together to oppose them[19]. Immediately, A. K. Antony hinted at the possibility of the formation of a fresh “secular” front to keep BJP out of power[20].

Ramajanmabhumi-Babarimasjid, evidences and Court or Hisorians as witnesses and Sunni Wakf Board Experts!

October 16, 2010

Ramajanmabhumi-Babarimasjid, evidences and Court or

Hisorians as witnesses and Sunni Wakf Board Experts!

Vedaprakash

Ramajanmabhumi-Babarimasjid and eminent hisorians: The eminent historians would appear immediately, whenever “Rama” appears in the headlines of Indian media. They start interpreting historicity of “Ramayana” according to their own way without any regard for the other view or perspective[1]. Even in the case of Sethu-samuthram, they started writing in “the Hindu” and EPW grinding their mills as usual[2]. Of course, the left media does / did not want the opinion of the others[3]. They vociferously lecture and write that they would appeal against the judgment and so on, but disappear thereafter. They exploit every forum like IHC etc., only to project their viewpoint[4]. Romila Thapar roared, “We would appeal against this jugment”, when the so-called “Hindutva judgment” came[5], but nothing happened! And the faithful readers of “The Hindu”, Frontline, EPW and the devoted members of IHC etc., also do not bother as to why their eminent historians tell lies or play such dubious games? Why they believe the eminent historians, because of their eminence or for their duplicity? Have they ever thought about them as to why they behave like that? Now, again these left / eminent intellectuals / historians have been busy with issuing statements. Besides, historians and experts others too join!

130 experts sign – ASI report should be made public, says appeal to Chief Justice[6] (14-10-2010): Now 130 experts have come out with an open letter addressed to the Chief Justice of India! The news reports say like this, “The Allahabad High Court based a significant part of its judgment in the Ayodhya case on the evidence provided by the Archaeological Survey of India’s report on its excavations at the site, submitted to the court in 2003. They accuse that the report is still hidden from the public eye, and a virtual gag order placed on archaeologists who acted as observers during the excavation[7]. Now that the judgment has been pronounced, a group of 130 academics, activists and intellectuals have demanded that the ASI report be published. In an open letter[8] to the Chief Justice of India and the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court, they urged that the report “be made available for scrutiny in the public domain, especially to scholars, as it is now a part of the public judicial record.” The ASI report, which concluded that a temple had existed at the site, has been criticised by many archaeologists for ignoring evidence such as animal bones, which would not have been found in a temple for Ram, and the existence of glazed pottery and graves at all levels which indicated Muslim residence”[9].

Shereen Ratnagar and D. Mandal were slapped with contempt of court charges by the Allahabad High Court: “In May, archaeologists Shereen Ratnagar and D. Mandal were slapped with contempt of court charges by the Allahabad High Court for sharing their observations in a book, titled “Ayodhya: Archaeology After Excavation”, published by Tulika in 2007. The orders in that case have been reserved”. That means they know the implications of the law. That is why they have been keeping quite since 2003!

The open letter and signatories: “The open letter notes that, “the world at large is equally constrained to silence. Such a judicially ordained zone of uncertainty curbs freedom of expression and fair comment.” Indians have never seen them in other caes where such issues have been involved. Thus, they want to selective!

Signatories: “The letter was signed by well-known Indian academics such as Sumit Sarkar, Uma Chakravarti, K.N. Pannikkar, K. Satchidanandan, Ajay Dandekar and filmmakers such as Anand Patwardhan, as well as less well-known Indian citizens – a software engineer, a textile design consultant, a teacher[10]. Academics from abroad – including those from universities in London, Chicago, Stockholm and Copenhagen – have also signed the letter, as friends of India”. This type of letters have been issued since 1992 and many times, the so-called signatories say that they have simply agreed to include their names in such letters. In some cases, they did / do not know also about the inclusion of their names!

Romila Thapar and others: Statement issued through Sahamat (01-10-2010): Another report goes like this: “Questioning the verdict of the Allahabad High Court on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suits, a group of left-leaning intellectuals on Friday said the judgment was “yet another blow to the secular fabric of the country” and the “repute of our judiciary”.  The scholars, including Romila Thapar, K M Shrimali, K N Pannikar, Irfan Habib, Utsa Patnaik and C P Chandrasekhar, said in a statement through the platform of Safdar Hashmi Memorial Trust (SAHMAT) that the verdict had raised “serious concerns” because of the way history, reason and secular values had been treated in it. “The view that the Babri Masjid was built at the site of a Hindu temple, which has been maintained by two of the three judges, takes no account of all the evidence contrary to this fact turned up by the Archaeological Survey of India’s own excavations — the presence of animal bones throughout as well as the use of ‘surkhi’ and lime mortar (all characteristic of Muslim presence) rule out the possibility of a Hindu temple having been there beneath the mosque,” the statement noted.

The verdict on Ayodhya: a historian’s perspective[11] (01-10-2010): Under this caption, the view of romila thapar appeared in “The Hindu”. It goes like this, “It has annulled respect for history and seeks to replace it with religious faith.

“The verdict is a political judgment and reflects a decision which could as well have been taken by the state years ago. Its focus is on the possession of land and the building a new temple to replace the destroyed mosque. The problem was entangled in contemporary politics involving religious identities but also claimed to be based on historical evidence. This latter aspect has been invoked but subsequently set aside in the judgment.

“The court has declared that a particular spot is where a divine or semi-divine person was born and where a new temple is to be built to commemorate the birth. This is in response to an appeal by Hindu faith and belief[12]. Given the absence of evidence in support of the claim, such a verdict is not what one expects from a court of law. Hindus deeply revere Rama as a deity but can this support a legal decision on claims to a birth-place, possession of land and the deliberate destruction of a major historical monument to assist in acquiring the land?

“The verdict claims that there was a temple of the 12th Century AD at the site which was destroyed to build the mosque — hence the legitimacy of building a new temple.

“The excavations of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and its readings have been fully accepted even though these have been strongly disputed by other archaeologists and historians. Since this is a matter of professional expertise on which there was a sharp difference of opinion the categorical acceptance of the one point of view, and that too in a simplistic manner, does little to build confidence in the verdict. One judge stated that he did not delve into the historical aspect since he was not a historian but went to say that history and archaeology were not absolutely essential to decide these suits! Yet what are at issue are the historicity of the claims and the historical structures of the past one millennium.

“A mosque built almost 500 years ago and which was part of our cultural heritage[13] was destroyed wilfully by a mob urged on by a political leadership. There is no mention in the summary of the verdict that this act of wanton destruction, and a crime against our heritage, should be condemned. The new temple will have its sanctum — the presumed birthplace of Rama — in the area of the debris of the mosque. Whereas the destruction of the supposed temple is condemned and becomes the justification for building a new temple, the destruction of the mosque is not, perhaps by placing it conveniently outside the purview of the case.

Has created a precedent[14]: The verdict has created a precedent in the court of law that land can be claimed by declaring it to be the birthplace of a divine or semi-divine being worshipped by a group that defines itself as a community. There will now be many such janmasthans wherever appropriate property can be found or a required dispute manufactured. Since the deliberate destruction of historical monuments has not been condemned what is to stop people from continuing to destroy others? The legislation of 1993 against changing the status of places of worship has been, as we have seen in recent years, quite ineffective.

What happened in history, happened. It cannot be changed[15]. But we can learn to understand what happened in its fuller context and strive to look at it on the basis of reliable evidence. We cannot change the pas[16]t to justify the politics of the present. The verdict has annulled respect for history and seeks to replace history with religious faith. True reconciliation can only come when there is confidence that the law in this country bases itself not just on faith and belief, but on evidence”.

Earlier stand – Irfan Habib (01-10-2010): “With the three judges pronouncing differing opinions on the historical and archaeological aspects of the case in the Allahabad High Court’s judgement on the disputed land in Ayodhya, many leading historians have been left bemused. “It’s not a logical judgement with so many parts going 2-1. One does not accept the logicality of the judgement,” said Irfan Habib, a noted historian and a former Chairman of the Indian Council of Historical Research who earlier taught at the Aligarh Muslim University. He noted that the verdict seemed to legitimise the events of 1949[17], when an idol was placed inside the mosque, by constant references. On the other hand, by minimising any mentions of the demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992, the court seemed to be disregarding it, he said. He also expressed surprise that two judges questioned the date of construction of the Babri Masjid, as well as the involvement of emperor Babar or his commander Mir Baqi, since there had been clear inscriptions to this effect before the demolition. “Things that are totally clear historically, the court has tried to muddy,” he said[18].

D. N. Jha: “The historical evidence has not been taken into account,” said D.N. Jha, history professor at the Delhi University. Noting the judgement’s mention of the “faith and belief of Hindus” in reference to the history of the disputed structure, Dr. Jha asked why the court had requested an excavation of the site.“If it is a case of ‘belief,’ then it becomes an issue of theology, not archaeology. Should the judiciary be deciding cases on the basis of theology is a question that needs to be asked,” he said.

Supriya Verma, one of the observers: Professional archaeologists also noted that the judges did not seem to rely heavily on the Archaeological Survey of India’s court-directed excavation of the site in 2003, at least in the summaries of their verdict available on Thursday evening. “Somewhere, there is doubt about the credibility of that report,” said Supriya Verma of the Jawaharlal Nehru University, who acted as an observer during the ASI excavation. She noted that neither Justice Sudhir Agarwal nor Justice Dharam Veer Sharma even referenced the ASI report to support his conclusion on the existence of a temple on the site before the mosque was built. “It is almost as though they themselves were not convinced by the evidence. They are clearly conceding that there was no archaeological evidence of a temple or of its demolition…It is a judgement of theology,” she said.

Jaya Menon, one of the observers: Another observer of the ASI excavation, Jaya Menon of the Aligarh Muslim University, noted that the ASI report itself did not provide any evidence of a demolition, and only asserted the existence of a temple in its conclusion. “So I don’t know on what basis they made their judgements,” she said. The ASI report had been criticised by many archaeologists for ignoring evidence such as animal bones, which would not have been found in a temple for Ram, and the existence of glazed pottery and graves which indicated Muslim residents.

The eminent historians as witnesses of Muslims in the Allahabad case: The eminent historians, historical experts  and leftist manufacturers never bother about their secular credentials.  It is not known as to why these coteries should always support for the Masjid or Muslim cause. Ironically, the following have been the witnesses of the case in question, which is criticised by them:

Sl.No Witness no Name of the witness
1 Witness No. 63 R.S. Sharma
2 Witness No. 64 Suraj Bhan
3 Witness No. 65 D.N. Jha[19]
4 Witness No. 66 Romila Thapar
5 Witness No. 70 Irfan Habib
6 Witness No. 72 B.N. Pandey
7 Witness No. 95 K.M. Shrimali
8 Witness No. 99 Satish Chandra
9 Witness No. 102 Gyanendra Pandey

Then, where is their loci standi in criticising the judgment and Court? As witnesses, definitely, they could have deposed before the judges presenting their “historical facts” as they only know how to interpret! The public perhaps, even today do not know that in secular India, these historians stood witnesses to the Muslims! Why none has appeared for Hindus or temple cause? When the cold-blooded terrorist and heinous killer like Kasab is given legal aid, why none appeared for the non-Muslim and non-mosque group? Where is secularism? Would they come out in the public what they told to the judges in the Court? However, the poor show showed in the court by them raises many questions.

HC judge exposed experts espousing Masjids cause: Waqf Board Line-Up Accused Of Having Ostrich-Like Attitude:  The role played by independent experts, historians and archaeologists who appeared on behalf of the Waqf Board to support its claim has come in for criticism by one Allahabad High Court judge in the Ayodhya verdict. While the special bench of three judges unanimously dismissed objections raised by the experts to the presence of a temple, it was Justice Sudhir Agarwal who put their claims to extended judicial scrutiny. Most of these experts deposed twice. Before the ASI excavations, they said there was no temple beneath the mosque and, after the site had been dug up,they claimed what was unearthed was a mosque or a stupa. During lengthy cross-examination spread over several pages and recorded by Justice Agarwal, the historians and experts were subjected to pointed queries about their expertise, background and basis for their opinions.
To the courts astonishment, some who had written signed articles and issued pamphlets, were withering under scrutiny and the judge said they were displayed an ostrich-like attitude to facts. He also pointed out how the independent witnesses were connected one had done a PhD under the other, another had contributed an article to a book penned by a witness.

The vociverous historians could not give evidences properly as witnesses with all their extertise[20]: Some instances underlined by the judge are[21]:

  • Suvira Jaiswal[22] deposed whatever knowledge I gained with respect to disputed site is based on newspaper reports or what others told (other experts). She said she prepared a report on the Babri dispute on basis of discussions with medieval history expert in my department.

  • Supriya Verma[23], another expert who challenged the ASI excavations, had not read the ground penetration radar survey report that led the court to order an excavation. She did her PhD under another expert Shireen F Ratnagar.

  • Verma and Jaya Menon[24] alleged that pillar bases at the excavated site had been planted but HC found they were not present at the time the actual excavation took place.

  • Archaeologist Shereen F Ratnagar has written the introduction to the book of another expert who deposed, Professor Mandal. She admitted she had no field experience.

Normally, courts do not make adverse comments on the deposition of a witness and suffice it to consider whether it is credible or not, but we find it difficult to resist ourselves in this particular case considering the sensitivity and nature of dispute and also the reckless and irresponsible kind of statements…[25] the judge noted. He said opinions had been offered without making a proper investigation, research or study in the subject. The judge said he was startled and puzzled by contradictory statements. When expert witness Suraj Bhan deposed on the Babri mosque, the weight of his evidence was contradicted by anotherexpert for Muslim parties, Shirin Musavi, who told the court that Bhan is an archaeologist and not an expert on medieval history[26]. Justice Agarwal noted that instead of helping in making a cordial atmosphere it tends to create more complications, conflict and controversy. He pointed out that experts carry weight with public opinion.

When the matter is subjudice, one has to obey law: It is a simple matter that whenever, any issue / case is pending with the Court, as the matter is subjudice, it should not be discussed or the decisions cannot be drawn in favour of anybody. However, these left historians etc., have been always speaking and writing supporting for Muslim cause or against Hindus, as is evident from their own recorded / printed statements / articles always published in the selected in few journals / ndewspapers. Unfortunately, they have even agreed to be witnesses for the Wakf Board in the Allahabad Court as their names are figuring. Ironivcally, they are called as Sunni Wakf Board experts![27]

When religions rely upon belief system, so also secularism historians too belive so ignoring objectivity: Like believers and dis-believers historians too believe and compel others to believe their perspective without any objectivity. As their objectivity differes, their perspective also differ, but try to argue with ideology, as could be understood by others. With belief system, no two ideologists could come together; with objectivity no two historians could accept the same historical event in the same view or pwerspective; here, the media has been projecting only one view. So what about the other view and why the media does not provide opportunity to accommodate their view? Should “audi alteram partem – hear the other side and decide” be applicable only to the Courts according to the principle of natural justice or the historians do not want to follow?

The same pattern as noted in the case of DK, DMK and other rapid atheists and radical experts is noted in the case of these eminent historians or Sunni Wakf Board experts: As it is pointed out in the case of DK[28]-DMK[29] radicals and rabid atheist groups that they do not come to Courts or face courts, though, they used to cry and roar that they are not afraid of Courts and so on. Here, also, suppressing the facts, these historians talk and write one thing in the dailies and cover up their mumbling and bungling in the court. The court recordings of the witnesses have been actually exposing their hollowness of expertise, deceptiveness of historical knowledge and their dubious role as witnesses. That they accuse even without seeing, even without reading or just discussing with others etc, prove their capacity of manoeuvring and manipulation of academics. How they get PhDs etc., only prove such academic degradation and professional pampering without any shame or remorse. It is open secret that the JNU, AMU, DU, IHC, ICHR and others at one side and BMAC, Sunni Wakf Board, AIMPLB at the other side have been playing communalism under the guise of secularism. Just by accusing others they cannot live, survive and continue their careers in this competitive world.

Why the eminent historians and Sunni Wakf Board experts did not respond to the remarks of the Judge? Definitely, the remarks of the Judge have been questioning the integrity of the eminent historians and Sunni Wakf Board experts, who deposed before the court as witnesses! They cannot simply brush aside such exposure, as it casts aspersion on their position. The English reading Indians and Indian students may doubt their veracity, reliability and uprightness, as they read their writings or listen to them. Therefore, they should go to court to clear the mess instead of shooting out letters to the Chief Justice just like politicians.

Indians and Indian youth should note as to whether these Sunni Board experts should teach history. Very often, it is said, claimed and propagated that India is / has been secular. Yes, how then the eminent historians professional archaeologists acted as Sunni Wakf Board experts and deposed as witnesses to the Muslims? Why these retired historians, senile professors and their working agents always make clamor about history, historicity and historiography in India, as if they are the sole selling agents of such stuff? Nowadays, the fact is that a few have been takers for history and most of the universities have dispensed with history subject. Definitely, the so-called historians have lost their importance and thus they tried to struggle for survival with the political and communal support. Now, the documents are available to all and the facts are known to everybody who access them through internet or otherwise. Common people may not know or understand the deceptive talkings and writings of the eminent historians or Sunni Wakf Board experts, but slowly they come to know. They easily understand that who want to settle the dispute and who want to continue the dispute for their stakes. Definitely, Muslims and Hindus want to settle the issue once for all, but these history gamblers and politicians want to continue. Therefore, the will of people prevail.

Suraj Bhan, “Government should have stood by ASI”, Ibid, pp.19-20.

[4] During the 2007-IHC session, Suvira Jaiswal was making such satatements. Then, in Delhi also they tried take up the matter. Now, in February 2011 at Malda, they may raise the issue. However, the Indians have to weait and see.

[5] In “the Hindu”, as usual, the news appeared with her photo and all, but after that everbody would have forgot about it! However, their warrior-like talk, veiled threatening and tactics of suppression of facts cannot be acquired by others.

[6] The Hindu, ASI report should be made public, says appeal to Chief Justice, Published: October 14, 2010 01:54 IST | Updated: October 14, 2010 02:03 IST; http://www.hindu.com/2010/10/14/stories/2010101464751800.htm

[7] How this has been a blatant lie has been exposed by the judge and that is why these guys have now tried to save their image by writing such letters. Of course, the media gives due publicity to such hypes and gimmicks.

[8] However, their mumbling, jumbling and bungling deposes before the Court have been kept as closed secret!

[9] Thus the eminent historians look for a non-vegetarian kitchen of Muslims there instrad of a temple. The same experts declared that the 16” inscription was planted by the Karsevaks in 1992.

[10] When Bharatiya Itihasa Sankalana Samiti works on the same lines, the same eminent historians make fun of having such diversified experts, but now they themselves have such signatories, just to project their strength.

[11] The Hindu, Published: October 2, 2010 00:41 IST | Updated: October 2, 2010.

[12] There is nothing new in Romila’s argument, as she repeats the same matter again and again. The unfortunate thing is that she like her friends always want others should accept their views!

[13] How they contradict in their views legally can be noted in such statements. When convenience comes, they forget law, when law is against them, they start talking generalization or raise the bogey of “Hindutva”!

[14] Law precedence is created in the Court. Yes, definitely, the judges are the persons to create and others have to accept. Of course, the appealable legal remedy is there.

[15] But whatever happened also cannot be forgotten. When the same historians want to whitewash the temple destruction of the Muslims and accept only the Muslim contribution, such type of exclusivist logic is not explained. Why the students should not know the facts? In law it is said audi alteram partem – hear the other side and decide. How then historians want to decide without knowing the other side?

[16] Why then the interpretation of the past is always different for different historians? Nowadays, historians do not want objectivity also. How then they woerry about accuracy, when they themselves are not worried about it?

[17] Acts and Rules are within the time frame work. All know that Places of Worship Act is there and it e3xempts only this place and not others. Why then they talk about pre-1947 and after 1947, when law its4elf  cannot do so?

[18]The Hindu, Historical evidence ignored, say historians, dated October 1, 2010, http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/article805087.ece

[23] It is interesting to note that the ASI report talks about a shrine followed by a temple with different structural phases, it also talks of “animal bones recovered from various levels of different periods”. If any shrine and a temple existed how can anyone account for the animal bones, Supriya Verma asks? She also maintains that stones and decorated bricks could have been used in any building, not necessarily only in a temple. Also, the carved architectural members have come from the debris and not from the stratified context.

[24] She got appointment in the AMU after she started supporting the cause of mosque and appeared as Sunni Wakf Board expert!

[25] The historians who deposed as witnesses and as well as others should carefully read this and understand their postion. They cannot pretend as if nothing happened or pose as great authorities and roam here and there in historical forums and conferences. Now Indians have also understood their double-games, double-speak and double-standards.

[26] Nowadays, just like medical experts or specialized doctors, these historians ad archaeologists trading charges like this – so-and-so is an expert in that field and he alone can know the truth and others cannot know the truth. Such type of exclusive mind-set exposes their arrogance and weakness and not the real expertise.

Congress, BJP and the so-called Hindu terror-III

Nothing new in the stories of HT: Headlines Today has not found out anything new, as now I have found out that it is just rehashing the stuff that was already circulated during November-December 2008. Perhaps, HT channel was not at that time or not popular. In www.indiainteracts.com, I have posted the following how the Congress colluded with the media to plant such half-baked, sensational stuff before the elections.

Therefore, as readers and Indiand we cannot keep quite for this type of propaganda.

HT picks up the old stuff in July 2010: Thus, it is evident that the TV-channels, particularly, TIMES-NOW had removed the stuff put on in the websites subsequently for the best reasons known to to them. Now, Headlines Today rehashes the same stuff, with the claim that they had exclusively accessed material – in the form of video tapes and witness accounts available with investigators – that puts elements within the Sangh Parivar under the scanner[1].

Were Hindus fools to colloboate with SIMI to bomb Muslim targets or SIMI was so idiotic to help Hinduss? Ironically, in the narco tests, Purohit says Muslim groups helped him bomb SIMI office in Malegaon[2] and the ATS was taken aback and tried to suppress the facts. Not only that even the RDX was obtained through the Jihadi terrorists across the borders through PK and IOK. Sankaracharya was reportedly helped in getting the RDX, as he was having influence over POK Jihadis.

How Bangladeshi nationals including oned woman detained turned to Hindu terrorists? The INDIATIMES NEWS NETWORK reported as follows: Ajmer blast: People detained for questioning, 12 Oct 2007, 0851 hrs IST, INDIATIMES NEWS NETWORK:

“NEW DELHI: Police has detained 3-4 people for questioning in its probe into the Ajmer dargah blasts, Times Now reported. According to the channel, police is also working upon the sketches of the suspects. Police sources said that detentions were made based upon the suspicious movements of these individuals. Two among those detained are Bangladeshi nationals and one is a woman”. What happened to those Bangaladeshis?

How the same Digvijay Singh and media speak the same stuff after three years? Digvijay Singh accused Sangh Parivar as follows in 2008:

Digvijay Singh equates VHP, Bajrang Dal to SIMI

Nov 14, 2008 http://news.outlookindia.com/item.aspx?633203

Bhopal, Nov 14 (PTI) Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh equated right wing organisations Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) to the banned Students Islami Movement of India (SIMI).

“These (SIMI, VHP and Bajrang Dal) outfits were all involved in similar anti-national activities,” Singh, AICC General Secretary alleged.

Talking informally to reporters, Singh said that whether it was ‘Muslim terrorism’ or ‘Hindu terrorism’, both worked to harm the nation’s security.

When asked if the Bajrang Dal should be banned, he said that it would be much better if the RSS which was the fountainhead of the Bajrang Dal was outlawed.

Singh said that there were only five recognised Peeths of Shankaracharyas in the country but the VHP had made many Shankaracharyas.

“The Maharashtra ATS should be congratulated for exposing the role of right wing terrorists in the Malegaon blasts,” Singh said.

The former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister said that he alone in the Congress is capable to take on the Sangh parivar by talking consistently of Hindu terrorism, he was defending other state Congress leaders who are mum on right wing leaders.

Now, again he comes into picture and talks nonsence in the TV-channels[3]. Now, He claimed that the first instance of Hindu terror came to light in Bhopal in December 2002. During his tenure as Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Singh said that the administration managed to track some of the sleeper cells and individuals involved in these activities, including bomb-making[4].  He also alleged that Madhya Pradesh Government, ‘for some strange reason’, closed investigation in two high-profile murder cases of Sangh functionaries Sunil Joshi and Ramchandra Kalangsara.

Conclusion: I just reproduce the conclusion as follows, which is applicable now also: The collusion of ATS with the media has been evident and it is very dangerous in the secular context of India. Moreover, the twisting, distorting and  misinterpreting of news reported and reporting with blatant lies, as a careful viewer, reader and observer could note from the media coverage, is unethical, immoral and against any journalistic code. Sensational reporting could not go to the extent of scandalous, as the politicization of the issue has not been touched upon, because of the elections. The political leaders could talk anything and get away with it. As the PM responded on the Malegaon blast on board in 2006, he could not keep silence about what has been going on now in the same issue. The media has tried to saffronize the terror from green. Ironically, the allegations of the saffron terror is inspired from the green and even purchased from green, if the media reports are to be taken as “gospel truth” or “Koranic revelation”.

If the Hindu ideologists start interpreting that as the PM has been a Sikh, the defence minister a Christian and the entire media has been Christian and Mohammedan and consistently anti-Hindu, these things are happening, how the others would take it? Of course, above all the Sonia factor has been there! Now all the secular elements have been keeping quite or playing cautious role realizing the grave situation, as it might misfire in any direction.

Anyway, a common man, a careful viewer, critical reader and sensitive observer could easily point out the double standards of the media, politicians, ideologists and other secular intellectuals. Though, very often, people are blamed for forgetting the past, just-past events, wherever, the impact has been there, they actually do not forget and such imprints continue to make them sensitive. Therefore, the hypocritical, duplicitous and two-faced standards of any discipline would be exposed. Hence, it is better, they behave responsibly, instead of treading a dangerous path of manipulations, meddling and even fraudulent ways.

Indology

May 9, 2007

Indology

Indians have been studying about them and recording their activities since their advent on the earth. However, with the advent of the Europeans during 18th-19th centuries, their studies carried on with their purpose came to be known as “Indology”.

“Indology”, study of India in all aspects,  has not been new to Indians, but of later, the westerners have dominated and tried to interpret the “historical process” of India in their own way. And many times, what they have understood about India, Indians, Indian religion, culture, heritage, tradition, civilization etc., whether such understanding is correct or incorrect, biased or unbiased, motivated with vested interest or otherwise, are printed in newspapers, journals and books and widely circulated. The

inbuilt mistakes, errors and wrong interpretations are also thus carried with authority. Unfortunately, the other tendency developed among the former group has been, if any Indian scholar points out such mistakes and blunders, immediately, he is dubbed as “nationalist”, “revisionist”, “communal” etc.

It has to be noted that certain words and expressions “communal”, “secular”, “progressive”, “sectarian”, “pseudo-secular”, etc., are used in India in peculiar connotation, but now, the westerners have borrowed such terminology and use against Indians. Moreover, as Indians of different categories have spread in many countries, because of material and non-material benefits, they side with such biased westerners and help in anti-India propaganda carried out under the guise of research and so on.
