Dravidian DK-DMK have been definitely anti-Hindu and neo-atheist rabid, but, pro-Mohammedan and Christian for votes!

Karuanidhi abused Hindu as thief; questioned Rama, in which college he took engineering degree to build bridge and so on!

Dravidian leaders have been anti-Hindu and blasphemous in their speeches and writings: EVR or the so-called Periyar “great person” had been totally anti-Hindu and brought out dozens of anti-Hindu tracts without any historical or logical basis. However, they have been printed, reprinted and circulated by the Self-Respect Publishers, Vepery, DK Headquarters. Those who read, have been simply carried away and they never verified the veracity and historicity of what he wrote some 80 years ago. The trend continued with Annadurai, who was a less rabble rouser with verbose and double-meaning. As for as Karunanidhi is concerned, he had been vulgar, blasphemous and indecent commenter. Thus, his son Stalin and daughter Kanimozhi have been in the same way, abusing and blaspheming Hindu religion, scriptures and practices. As their, anti-Hindu activities, discourses and abuses have been in Tamil, perhaps, they are not known to other language knowing Indians and believers.

Karunandhi had been dexterous to exploit every occasion to attack Hindu religion etc., in his own way!

Karunandhi had been dexterous to exploit every occasion to attack Hindu religion etc., in his own way!

The Dravidian leaders abuse ladies even inside Tamil Nadu State assembly: The double entendre, double-meaning, speaking with vulgar verbose have been the standards, feature and hallmark of Dravidian stage speech, dialogue and discussion, whether on the stage or inside the Tamil Nadu state Assembly. Karunanidhi’s remarks against T. N. Anatha Nayaki[1], Jeyalalita[2] and others have been too well-known to be repeated here. As for as theism is concerned, it has been anti-Hindu only and they ave never commented or talked against Mohammedans of Christians. Their commonality has been to attend Ifter and Christmas parties, eat with them and comment upon the Hindu festivals in contrast.  Karunanidi has been the trend setter in this aspect. If all of his comments are compiled, a book can be brought out.

Stalin’s clarification came of April Fool’s Day: DMK president M K Stalin 01-04-2019, Monday asserted that his party was not against any religion[3] and deprecated what he called a disinformation campaign that his outfit was an “enemy of Hindus.” Ironically, the day has been “Fools Day,” commemorated on April 1st by playing practical jokes and spreading hoaxes. The jokes and their victims are called April fools. People playing April Fool jokes often expose their prank by shouting “April fool(s)” at the unfortunate victim(s). Some newspapers, magazines and other published media report fake stories, which are usually explained the next day or below the news section in smaller letters. Aside from April Fools’ Day, the custom of setting aside a day for the playing of harmless pranks upon one’s neighbour has historically been relatively common.

Stalin anti-hindu, Times Now

Jagathrakshakan might be a believer, but, Stalin not: The Dravidian party chief, addressing a poll rally near Pandianallur, Sholingur, Vellore, described his party nominee for the Arakkonam Lok Sabha constituency, S Jagathrakshakan, as a deeply spiritual man who spent his money during his previous tenure as MP to renovate hundreds of temples in Arakkonam, besides developing infrastructure and undertaking other welfare initiatives[4]. “Jagathrakshakan has another specialty. He is a deeply spiritual person[5]. Some are even today criticising DMK as an enemy of the Hindus. Are you saying this even after seeing him (Jagathrakshakan)..?” The DMK chief blamed sections of the media for deliberately creating a false impression that his party was against the Hindus[6]. It is not the question of Jagathrakshakan seen with him or DMK, but, the other way. He joined DMK, evidently, to break the Vanniyar vote, but, he did not want to be an atheist.

Abusing Hindu religions, Gurus and all, he allowed his first wife to portray before Sai Baba!

Abusing Hindu religions, Gurus and all, he allowed his first wife to portray before Sai Baba!

“…….we accepted God or not, he had accepted us”: Stalin said the party follows what late leaders CN Annadurai (Anna) and M Karunanidhi had spelt on the religion. “Anna had stated that onre kulam; oruvane devan (one God, one community)[7]. We are following this ideal. We are never against (the belief in) God,” he explained, adding Kalaignar (Karunanidhi) had said that whether we accepted God or not, he had accepted us[8]. Citing the popular dialogue “we are not against temples, our principle is that it should not become a camp of the wicked,” written by his late father M Karunanidhi in the 1952 Tamil film “Parasakthi,” he said the DMK had never been against those worshipping God[9].  Tamil Nadu people know very well about these leaders. When the Pillaiyar / Vinayaka idols were broken by EVR, the poonools cut by the Dravidian cadres, women attacked with virulent abusive language, no action was taken. Karunanishi had been more virulent and abusive in his language. And they have not been so spiritual, if at all of any spirituality, it is highly idiotic to claim that, “…….we accepted God or not, he had accepted us”!

Stalin anti-hindu, money control

Men blaspheming and wives worship – is this could be called as secular or showing equal respect to all religion or not anti-Hindu?: Stalin said his wife offered prayers at temples every day and added that he had never prevented her from visiting shrines since it was her wish[10]. Men blaspheming and wives worship – is this could be called as secular or showing equal respect to all religion or not anti-Hindu? Even, children may not agree with this type of logic. “They (sections of the media) are, however, indulging in a disinformation campaign that DMK is against the Hindus and temple worship,” he said and added that people are not ready to believe it. Stalin said when he took over as party chief last year, he categorically stated at the general council that he would be for all religions and against none; that his party would be on the side of all religions and not discriminate on the basis of caste or religion. “I had spoken categorically that DMK is not against any religion. However, continuously, sections of media and press are indulging in wrong propaganda. We are not worried about it as people are on our side,” he said.

When he went to housing board, one woman affectionately applied kumkum on his forehead, but, he erased immediately, and all onlookers were shocked!

When he went to housing board, one woman affectionately applied kumkum on his forehead, but, he erased immediately, and all onlookers were shocked!

Stalin’s attitude also is known to public: The top DMK leader’s assertion that his party was not against any religion comes nearly two months after a video clip surfaced on social media purportedly showing Stalin criticising Vedic ceremonies in Hindu weddings. After the two-year-old clip surfaced, the ruling AIADMK had accused Stalin of trying to divide people on religious lines. In the 1.28-minute video, Stalin purportedly takes potshots at “Vaidika,” Hindu marriages presided over by a Brahmin priest. The smoke from the yagna (havan) makes not only the bride and groom “cry a little,” but also those around to witness the ceremony and creates a sombre ambience, the DMK leader was seen purportedly commenting in the video. Rejecting claims that Stalin’s speech was offensive, a DMK spokesperson had said marriages sans ceremonies had all along been the cornerstone of the party’s ideology. “It is a two-year-old video clip and it has now been released seeking to gain political mileage by right wing supporters,” the spokesperson said and added that the video featured only a portion of Stalin’s speech. Stalin has been caught by the believers, when, he erased kumkum, Sandal paste applied on his forehead at two places. This has also created aversion against his attitude. Above all, these leaders wish on te occasion of festivals and celebrations of Mohammedans and Christians, but, they never participate in Hindu festivals. On the contrary, the DK mouth peace “Viduthalai” comes out with blasphemous articles and these leaders pass negative comments, that too, participating in their festivals.

Stalin response to The Hindu 23-09-2018

In 2018 also, the same issue cropped up, because of the attitude of Stalin: Last year, 2018, when a question, “You took a stand on God in the party’s general council for the first time[11]. Was it because you feel that it is difficult to run a campaign against God and religion, especially after the BJP’s growth?” was asked, Stalin, explained as follows[12]: “I would like to give a detailed reply. Anna proclaimed that there was “one God and one race”. He also said, “I would not break Pillaiyar, nor will I break coconut for him.” Kalaignar had reiterated this point many times. But a section is deliberately suppressing these facts and seeking to portray us as atheist and anti-Hindu. Kalaignar always had a non-partisan approach. He was not against faith in God or in religion (as his actions in government would prove). When I spoke about God, I kept in mind the ideas of Anna and Kalaignar. Contrary to your assumption, the DMK has never preached against God and religion”.

June 2018, SriRangam temple, Stalin, priest apply paste-Stalin removed-BJP

Stalin is afraid of losing Hindu votes: Now, because of elections and his anti-Modi tirade, he cannot justify his more rabid anti-Hindu hate speech, or his rants coming out through Verramani and others would not be ignored by the voters. As these leaders try to appeal Dravidian cadres by allowing their women folk to be so faithful to Hindu religion, but, talk nonsense and DMK talk less nonsence, but allow DK Veeramani to talk more nonsense,  people may not be so fools to keep quite. At one stage, they may retaliate as Hindus. That only, Stalin denies not want and now clarifies. As Rahul and Priyanka have started going to temples and doing all antics, Stalin also may visit few temples, like Titumavalavan, who talked openly that all temples should be destroyed. And Sathur Ramachandran has already unveiled their dubious plan, “We can easily fool Hindus by applying vibhudhi on our foreheads, they would vote for us”!

Vairamuthu’s research on Andal, the “quoted quote research methodology,” and the confession of “eminent historians”!

January 20, 2018

Vairamuthu’s research on Andal, the “quoted quote research methodology,” and the confession of “eminent historians”!

Andal, Vairamuthu controversy

The controversy started with Vairamuthu on Andal (07-1-2018): What Vairamuthu wrote about Andal as appeared in “Dinamani” in Tamil, and its translation is given as follows[1]: “As Andal was not born to Periyazhwar, there were no details available about her birth, though, she was brought up by a Brahmin, as the society that was controlled with caste stratification might not accept her into such caste hierarchy, Andal herself had already attained the freedom of word with force and there was a practice of offering women to temple accepted by the then society, some researchers have been compelled to arrive at stunning conclusions. The book ‘Indian Movement: some aspects of dissent, protest and reform’ edited by Subash Chandra Malik of Indiana University, USA contains such reference as follows: Andal was herself a devadasi who lived and died in the Srirangam Temple. The devotees might not accept this, but, those who oppose patriarchy and socio-religious (code) might think about it.” This created the controversy that is still raging in Tamilnadu and some parts of Andhra and Karnataka. Ironically, now, Dinamani has removed the controversial or rather blasphemous article and their regrets are appearing there[2].

Vairamuthu, Vaidhyanathan, dinamani

Verification of the book referred to by Vairamuthu: Now, let us analyze the “quote” of the learned poet and writer of Vairamuthu. As he has given the reference, now, as a “researcher”, anyone can go to the source and verify.

India movements, S C Malik edited book

Thus, let us see the book under reference. M. G. S. Narayanan and Veluthat Kesavan published a paper, “The Bhakti Movement in South India” in “Indian Movements: Some Aspects of Dissent Protest and Reform,” edited and introduced by S. C. Malik and published by Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla in 1978. In which, what they claimed was,

Cheraman Perumal Nayanar notes the reception given to Shiva by devadasis of all ages while he went out in procession around the streets in Kailas35, and Andal herself is a Devadasi who lived and died in the Sri Rangam Temple36.

Quotations of MGS

The two footnotes given for support for those two lines are as follows:

  1. Ceraman Perumal Nayanar, Adiyula, M. Raghava Aiyangar, ed. Caruventar Ceyyukovai, 1951, Trivandrum, Vol.II, pp.136-64.
  1. T. A. Gopinatha Rao, The History of Sri Vaishnavas, Madras, 1923, Madras, p. 5.

MGS, Kesavan , tthe book

So when we look at page no.5 of the said book, what, T. A. Gopinatha Rao recorded is this, “When she reached marriageable age, she refused to marry anyone except the God Ranganatha of the Srirangam temple. The God appeared to the Alvar in a dream to declare before him his acceptance of the girl in marriage and ordered her to be brought to his residence at Srirangam. Periyalvar took her there with great eclat and left her in her Lord’s house and returned to his quiet residence at Srivilliputtur.

Quotations of MGS- TAG Rao reference

Therefore, there is nothing like what the learned historians M. G. S. Narayanan and Veluthat Kesavan reportedly claimed, “Andal herself is a Devadasi who lived and died in the Sri Rangam Temple.” Why then, the leaned “historians” wrote in that way and what was their motive?

Quotations of MGS- TAGopinatha Rao reference,p.5

M. G. S. Narayanan clarified to Dinathanthi that there was no such reference to Devadasi[3]: When Asoka Vardhini contacted M. G. S. Narayanan through phone, he accepted that there was no specific reference to Andal as devadasi and he mentioned it based on inference only. He also accepted that Veluthat Kesavan was a student of him, doing M.A history (implying that he might not have been having research expertise at that time). There is no inscriptional evidence to that effect and it was written only based on “oral tradition.” When she asked specifically, he specifically confessed that there is no primary evidence and even secondary evidence to that effect, it was a controversial interpretation and a “matter of inference”. Then, naturally, it is intriguing and shocking to know as to know how they could have written conclusively, “Andal was herself a devadasi who lived and died in the Srirangam Temple.” Now, he is considered as one of reputed and eminent historians of India, former chairman of ICHR and so on. Why them, they stooped to such “quoted quote” research methodology, amounting faking and forging such lies and falsehood in historiography?

Vairamuthu regrets for Andal comments

The implications of “quoted quote research,” bogey of “eminent historians” and other modern-day mythistories: Now let us analyze their quotations, reportedly lifted from two books mentioned above.

  1. The book in question was published by Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla in 1978 and not by Indiana University, USA as claimed by Vairamuthu.
  1. Vairamuthu should have verified the sources before quoting, that too, part of a sentence picking up from their paper. He must have consulted the original sources (as he knows Tamil very well) and also other secondary sources after 1978 to present his speech and “researched” article appeared.
  1. Ironically, he and the press, still carry such wrong and falsified blabbering[4]. “As part of my research for writing this article on Aandaal, I happened to read a collection of articles edited by Subhash Chandra Malik in the name of “Indian Movements: Some Aspects of Dissent, Protest and Reform”, the original from Indiana University and published by Indian Institute of Advanced Study in 1978. It is very much an Indian research study by Indian historians,”thus claimed Vairamuthu.[5]
  1. Vairamuthu added, “Professor M.G.S Narayanan & Professor Kesavan Veiuthat. Professor M. G. S Narayanan is considered as “one of India’s top authorities on ancient history” and has served as the chairman of Indian Council of Historical Research. Professor Kesavan Veluthat is the Professor of History in University of Delhi. The line mentioned in my article was from a reputed publication and by reputed historians.” But, M. G. S. Narayanan now refuted. Here, Vairamuthu mentioned, “G.S Narayanan is considered as “one of India’s top authorities on ancient history,” whereas, the subject dealt with has not been so ancient!
  1. Cheraman Perumal Nayanar notes the reception given to Shiva by devadasis of all ages while he went out in procession around the streets in Kailas35.” M. G. S. Narayanan himself accepted that the story of Cheraman Perumal was a myth floated after 13th century by the vested Mohammedan groups. Therefore, the question of devadasis of all sorts going out in procession is redundant, immaterial and incompetent.
  1. Andal herself is a Devadasi who lived and died in the Sri Rangam Temple36.” This is also fake, fraudulent and deceptive, as T.A. Gopinatha Rao never mentioned such sentence in his book, as pointed out above.
  1. It is unbecoming for these researchers, now, paraded as “historians” to quote that was not there in a book, secondary source.
  1. It exposes the dubious and dangerous nature of “quoted quote” research methodology, as most of the researchers, may not look into the quotes recorded by the “eminent historians.”
  1. Coming to ideology, it is evident that the involved personalities have been Marxists and atheists and thus, their speeches and writings have been tarnished with bias, prejudice and without objectivity.
  1. As the Marxist ideology is coupled with Dravidian ideology of atheism, that is directed against Hindu religion, evidently, Hindus have come to streets. How they have been oppressed, suppressed and attacked by them since 1960s have been too well-known to be repeated here.

The Truth about the leaving mortal coil of Swami Vivekanda: Stop propagating nonsense against him!

August 1, 2017

The Truth about the leaving mortal coil of Swami Vivekanda: Stop propagating nonsense against him!

Did Vivekanda die for controlling sex- Rekha Padmanabhan

Propaganda against Swami Vivekananda: July 4th happened to be the “Sraddhanjali Day” of Swami Vivekananda, but, this year 2017, I missed it, because of preoccupation with personal problems and conferences.  The Christian propaganda was there, ever since, he dominated the West with his Vedantic influence. That propaganda continues even today by the Christian missionaries and anti-Hindu propagandists with their fantastic stories spun and spread from time to time. I wanted to prepare a note on his “departure from this world,” as some people started misinterpreting his end with their own imaginative suggestions, concocted suppositions and ill-motivated ideas, turning into hypotheses. Ironically, some people have started doing under the guise of “motivational speaker” and so on[1]. Some other give their own of explanation[2]. Thus, I have been compelled to prepare this note hurriedly with the materials available in the internet.

If anybody attacks me, simply ignore his existence-Swami Vivekananda

Swami Vivekananda stood against all odds: Swami Vivekananda suffered heavily due to his restriction of food and ill-health. Slowly, he agreed to wear the warm cloths to protect himself from the climate in USA and European counties. Of course, writers too, used contribute their mite in 20th and 21st centuries with their “scientific” and “rational” interpretations. Thus, the  story Hindustan Times goes in this way: “In a life-span of only 39 years, Swami Vivekananda, who spread the message of India’s spiritual heritage across the world, battled several health problems all along and no less than 31 diseases and ailments[3]. ‘The Monk as Man’ by renowned Bengali writer Shankar lists insomnia, liver and kidney diseases, malaria, migraine, diabetes and heart ailments as some of the 31 health problems that the Swami faced in the course of his life[4]. Shankar describes Swami Vivekananda’s health problems using a Sanskrit quote ‘shariram byadhimandiram’ — the body is the temple of diseases”. How he suffered (from dysentery and fever) during the Paris “World Conference of Religion” was also well known. Yet, he fought battle, many times singularly.

Swami Vivekananda foresees about his health

‘Better to play football than read the Gita’: Yes, Swamiji wanted Indian youth to be assertive and strong to fight, but, the “Hindustan Times” goes to say, “Ironically, Vivekananda used to emphasise greatly on physical strength and is known for the shocking statement ‘Better to play football than read the Gita’. One of the perennial problems that Vivekananda lived with was chronic insomnia and in a letter to Shashi Bhushan Ghosh dated May 29, 1897, he confided “I never in my life could sleep as soon as I got into bed.” The previous year, Vivekananda seemed to have written to his ‘dhira mata’ (Sara Bull) from New York complaining about his lack of sleep. “My health has nearly broken down. I have not slept even one night soundly in New York since I came … I wish I could go to the bottom of the sea and have a good, long sleep.” He knew about his body and mind the strength of them. Therefore, now one need not comment that, “Ironically, Vivekananda used to emphasise greatly on physical strength and is known for the shocking statement ‘Better to play football than read the Gita’, as one has to understand the meaning. He did not say that you should not read Gita, but, play football!

Swami Vivekananda knew when he would die

Swamiji was suffering from diabetes: It is also known that Vivekananda used to suffer from diabetes like his father and at that time suitable drugs were unavailable. Shankar writes that Vivekananda had tried different modes of treatment ranging from allopathic, homoeopathic to ayurvedic and had also taken advice from all kinds of quasi-medical experts from various countries. He narrates that in the summer of 1887, Vivekananda (whose real name was Narendranath Dutta) had fallen very ill due to overstrain and lack of food. During this period, he also suffered from gallstones, and acute diarrhoea. Later, during the same summer, he came down with typhoid and problems in the urinary tract. “Narendranath’s abdominal pains were a source of great anxiety,” Shankar says. Shankar wonderfully chronicles the various medical problems Swami Vivekananda faced during his stint as a wandering monk in the country and across the world, and why he cut short his journey in Cairo, Egypt, to return to India. It was to French operatic soprano Rosa Emma Calvet that Vivekandanda had declared in Egypt that he would die on July 4, 1902. “Swami Vivekananda’s eyes filled with tears. He said he wanted to return to his country to die, to be with his gurubhais,” Shankar wrote. The fateful evening of July 4, 1902, Vivekananda passed away in Belur following a third heart attack, completing 39 years, five months and 24 days.

Narasingha Prosad Sil, Swami Vivekananda-A Reassessment, Selingrove- Susquehana University Press, USA, p.141.

The rupture of a blood vessel in his brain was reported as a possible cause of death[5]: There is no mystery surrounding the fact that Swami Vivekananda died in the year 1902. But not all of us know the real reason(s) behind his demise. Let’s explore the various theories related to Swami Vivekanda’s death as well as some unknown aspects of his life…Swami Vivekananda was born on 12 January 1863. On 4 July 1902 (the day of his death) Vivekananda awoke early, went to the chapel at Belur Math and meditated for three hours. He taught Shukla-Yajur-Veda, Sanskrit grammar and the philosophy of yoga to pupils. Later, along with several colleagues, he planned Vedic college in the Ramakrishna Math. It is stated that on the day of his sad demise, in the evening, around 7 p.m, Vivekananda went to his room, asking not to be disturbed. He died the same night at 9:10 p.m. while meditating. According to his disciples, Vivekananda attained Mahasamadhi; the rupture of a blood vessel in his brain was reported as a possible cause of death. His disciples believed that the rupture was due to his brahmarandhra (an opening in the crown of his head) being pierced when he attained Mahasamadhi[6]. Vivekananda fulfilled his prophecy that he would not live for forty years. He was cremated on a sandalwood funeral pyre on the bank of the Ganges in Belur, opposite where Ramakrishna was cremated sixteen years earlier. Swami Vivekananda, left his physical body on July 4th, 1902, when he was just 39 years old. Many people have wondered – what caused an evolved soul like Swami Vivekananda to die at such a young age? Aren’t yogi’s able to extend their own life-span and live for very long periods of time? As this was written in 2015, obviously, it was written based on “cardiac arrest ” hypothesis floated .

Narasingha Prosad Sil, Swami Vivekananda-A Reassessment, Selingrove- Susquehana University Press, USA, p.141-2

How Swamiji predicted his death!: Swami Vivekananda wrote this in a letter to Sister Nivedita in March 1900, as noted by Anshul Chaturvedi, in his blog. In my fraying, massively underlined and marked copy of Letters Of Swami Vivekananda, I’d circled the words “I know the time and place” the very first time I read and pondered over it, over a decade back, and made a small note against it: ‘of death, obviously.’ I could find no other explanation. It was, after all, just over two years after writing that letter that Vivekanda died, on July 4, 1902, preceded by detailed study of the almanac in the preceding days, the specific pointing out of the spot of his cremation three days before his demise, and instructions to brother-disciples on the future of the Ramakrishna Math on the day itself[7]. Earlier in that year, Romain Rolland has noted that Vivekananda began to decline to express his opinion on the questions of the day with the response, “I can no more enter into outside affairs; I am already on the way.” The man who had said “I shall not live to be forty years old” and moved on at 39 was clearly no stranger to his physical end and approached it with a sense of anticipation, if not familiarity[8].

Swami Vivekananda knew about his death- letter to Nivedita

Sex stories floated picked up Kundalini, yoga and so on: Our people do not want read carefully or going into facts by reading at least the “Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda”. According to his disciples, “Vivekananda attained Mahasamadhi; the rupture of a blood vessel in his brain was reported as a possible cause of death. His disciples believed that the rupture was due to his brahmarandhra (an opening in the crown of his head) being pierced when he attained Mahasamadhi”. But, the fact is Swamiji opposed the “Tantric” practices, particularly, involving Vamachara. “This form of practice must never even be mentioned in the Math. Ruin shall seize the wicked man, both here and hereafter, who would introduce vile Vamachara into His fold”- thus, Swami Vivekananda warned the members of Alambazar Math, 27 April 1896. But, now, people without any sense write, he died because he could not control sex, masturbate………………….and so on.

Narasingha Prosad Sil, Swami Vivekananda- on sex, marriage

Swamiji had been very clear about it: Hence the swami makes it clear that left-hand Tantra is absolutely forbidden for the monks of the Ramakrishna mission; indeed, they are explicitly warned not even to speak of such horrible rites, on threat of expulsion from the order[9]: “The Vamachara form of practice . . . should on no account be practised at the Math. Anyone demuring to this must step out of this Order. This form of practice must never even be mentioned in the Math. Ruin shall seize the wicked man, both here and hereafter, who would introduce vile Vamachara into His fold”. Only by purging this demoralizing parasite can India recover its virile, masculine power: “Just look to your own province and see how this Vamachara (immoral practices) of the Tantras has entered into your very marrow. Even modern Vaishnavism . . . is saturated with Vamachara! We must stem the tide of this Vamachara which is contrary to the spirit of the Vedas[10].

Kundalini-Swami Vivekananda

Swamiji pointed out how historically, the practices were degenerated: Swamiji explained, “Give up this filthy Vamachara that is killing your country…. When I  see how much the Vamachara has entered into our society, I find it a most disgraceful place with all its boast of culture. These Vamachara secrets are honeycombing our society in Bengal. . . . The Bengali Shastras are the Vamachara shastras. They are published by the cartload and you poison the minds of your children with them. . . . Fathers of Calcutta, do you not feel ashamed that such horrible stuff as these Vamachara Tantras . . . should be put into the hands of your boys and girls, and their minds poisoned, and that they should be brought up with the idea that these are the Shastras of the Hindus? If you are ashamed, take them away from your children and let them read the true Shastras, the Vedas, the Gita and the Upanishads[11]. The original spirit essentially valid Hindu scriptures that were only later corrupted by degenerate Buddhism and the obscene rites of the left-hand (Vàmàcàra) path: “I denounced only the present corrupted form of Vamachara of the Tantras. I did not denounce the Mother worship of the Tantras. . . . The purport of the Tantras is to worship women in a spirit of Divinity. During the downfall of Buddhism, the Vamachara became very much corrupted, and that corrupted form obtains to the present. . . . I denounced only these corrupt…practices”[12].

Kundalini-Swami Vivekananda warns against Vamachara

Leave Swami Vivekananda: Nowadays, it has become a fashion to pretend that all could be solved, just by talking. Some have started claiming that “Do not take medicine…..You do this, you can be free from all diseases”.  Yet another claim, “I solve all your personal, family ……problems, just by talking”, that is, just listen to what I talk, that is enough! Here, they need not resort to denigrate others for theor promotion. For “sex” control etc., Swami Vivenananda need not be dragged into. Therefore, Indians on any capacity or pretext need not misinterpret Swami Vivekananda, without reading him. One should at least read the “Complete works”, before commenting or talking about Swami Vivekananda. For one’s propagation of name, fame or business, he need not be brought to trivial issues.

Richard Huckle, Vijesh Kooriyil and Hasan Suroor: How these pedophiles are different to be treated variously under secularism or otherwise by the British and Indian media?

June 9, 2016

Richard Huckle, Vijesh Kooriyil and Hasan Suroor: How these pedophiles are different to be treated variously under secularism or otherwise by the British and Indian media?

Pedophiles connected with India are prosecuted in London CourtsJune 2016 flooded with pedopphile cases adjudicated in London, but connected with India: In June 2016, pedophile cases are adjudicated and decided in London courts prosecuting various categories, as reports appearing in the media. They are first Richard Huckle, second Vijesh Kooriyil[1] and then, columnist Hasan Suroor. Indians really have to wonder as to how all these pedophiles have been connected with India, particularly South India. Indians do not know as to such pedophile cases would be decided in June one by one.  Richard Huckle was visiting Bangalore Christian orphanage,   Vijesh Kooriyil hailing from Malappuram and Hasan Suroor, the famous columnist of “The Hindu”! As Indians are imbibed with secularism, western and leftist ldeologists, they are made to think as this prosecution has been of the British type or secular type. Richard Huckle has been Christian, Vijesh Kooriyil obviously Hindu and Hasan Suroor Muslim! Whether the court cases are timed, reporting coincidental or assumed pattern incidental would be decided in due course. However, the accelerated interest, swift attention and rapid curiosity exibited by certain Indian media makes Indians to concentrate in the news. Yes, the Hasan Suroor has been picked up by “The Hindu”, “Outlook, “Scroll.in” etc., to come out with response evidently heaving a sigh of relief. First look at the news appearing in the media.

hasan-suroor-muslim-apologetic-columnistCharged Hasan Suroor found not guilty: A UK court on Tuesday (07-06-2016) dropped a case of “sexual grooming” against an Indian-origin British journalist, London-based Indian journalist and columnist Hasan Suroor for lack of evidence and declared him not guilty[2]. Suroor was ‘trapped’ by a vigilante group at a spot in south London and subjected to aggressive and threatening questioning by the group. The Crown charged Mr. Suroor with violating Section 16 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 (sexual grooming of a child) and Section 1(1) of the Criminal Attempts Act (1981)[3]. The Crown formally withdrew charges as its chief witness Jonathan Clark, a member of the vigilante group, withdrew his support for the prosecution and failed to appear. Further, Mr. Suroor has no digital footprint of grooming, which is common marker of online sexual grooming, his lawyer Paul Mason told The Hindu[4].

hasan-suroor-muslim-apologetic-columnist-supporting-isSerious allegations were sought to be pursued on the basis of a “telephone call” from an “unregulated” vigilante group: Suroor, who was arrested by British Transport Police (BTP) last November 2015 after an anti-paedophile sting operation in London, is now planning to sue the vigilante group, Unknown TV, behind the sting for damages[5]. “Following a further review of the case there is now no longer a realistic prospect of conviction,” the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) told Blackfriars Crown Court in a written submission on Tuesday (07-06-2016). The judge ruled that he had decided to return an “unequivocal verdict of not guilty”. The judge ruled he had decided to return an “unequivocal” verdict of “not guilty” and criticised the prosecution’s handling of the case[6]. He said he was “extremely concerned” that such serious allegations were sought to be pursued on the basis of a “telephone call” from an “unregulated” vigilante group[7]. But, Indians wonder as to such an advanced country could have such “unregulated” vigilante group moving all over the London city prouling on alleged pedophiles and the CPS to book case pursued on the basis of a “telephone call” from them.

hasan-suroor-leftist-is-supporter-hindutwa-opponent-twitters-2A written order declaring Suroor innocent is to be issued on 24 June 2016: A written order declaring Suroor innocent is to be issued on 24 June 2016 along with a ruling on his application for his legal costs to be reimbursed. Suroor’s lawyer Paul Mason said: “The robust stand we took has paid off.” The CPS is yet to officially comment on the case[8]. Suroor had been caught on camera as he was confronted by members of Unknown TV, organisers of the sting operation who alleged he was waiting for a 14-year-old girl[9]. A member of the anti-paedophile vigilante group had allegedly posed as a 14-year-old and allegedly solicited Suroor on social media[10]. Groups such as Unknown TV pose as minors on dating and social networking sites in an attempt to catch adult men who solicit sex with minors[11].

Parvathi Menon, The Hindu columnistParvathi Menon expert on “Ayodhya related secular issues”[12] reports about the case: It is intriguing that the “Outlook” has come out with apologia sort of support to Saroor[13], that too, an article type written by[14]Dipsikha Thakur is a trainee journalist with Outlook. She graduated from Cambridge earlier this year with a BA in English and Classics.” She has written a lengthy story, as if, she was writing for her examinations. But, “The Hindu” has been more professional, as it has bandwagon of historians category of columinists (Bangalore’s residential editor of The Hindu). Thus, Parvathi Menon came for resucue[15], “The charges of sexual-grooming filed …have been withdrawn for lack of evidence, although the judge hearing the case at the Blackfriars Crown Court has set the date for formally declaring Mr. Suroor, “not guilty” on June 24…….”. She has been so faithful and loyal to mention him as “Mr.Suroor was ‘trapped’”……….. subjected to aggressive and threatening questioning by the group. …….. as its chief witness Jonathan Clark, a member of the vigilante group, withdrew his support for the prosecution and failed to appear……… Further, Mr. Suroor has no digital footprint of grooming, which is common marker of online sexual grooming, his lawyer Paul Mason told The Hindu……..”. Paravthi Menon as been a vigorous writer on Ayodhya related issues[16] commenting upon the Supreme Court judgment and so on, particularly criticizing Hindutwa[17].

Vijesh Kooriyil Crown Court“….chief witness Jonathan Clark, a member of the vigilante group, withdrew his support for the prosecution and failed to appear….”: The proceedings, as reported by the British media has been intriguing, for the following reasons:

1.       The CPS is yet to officially comment on the case.

2.      The written order to be out on June.24, 2016.

3.      The complaintant / witness did not co-operate or became hostile.

4.      That is, the chief witness Jonathan Clark, a member of the vigilante group, withdrew his support for the prosecution and failed to appear…

5.      The Vigilant group may appeal.

Why then, the particular Indian media houses react differently for Hasan Surror, but keeping silence on the first two pedophiles ant the related issues. When India has already been affected by the pedophile menace, how they could react with bias towards Hasan Suroor alone without caring for thousands and perhaps, lakh of Indian children, young boys and girls, teenage girls and others. Really, it is ironical that they play “communal card” under the guise of “secularism”!

[1] Kerala Paedophile failed to turn up at Oxford Crown Court on Tuesday to face trial for repeatedly raping a young boy in Oxford between 2010 and 2011. The court heard the 29-year-old business manager was on unconditional bail when he told his solicitors he was going to attend court, before boarding a plane to Delhi from Heathrow on Monday night (06-06-2016). But a jury of seven women and five men unanimously found Kooriyil guilty of both rapes on the boy who was aged six or seven at the time.

The 10th National Conference of ABISY was held at Mysore from December 24th to 26th 2015 on “Women in Indian culture: From ancient to Modern” (3)

December 29, 2015

The 10th National Conference of ABISY was held at Mysore from December 24th to 26th 2015 on “Women in Indian culture: From ancient to Modern” (3).

RSS briefed about the conference earlier - Indian Express, Aug 17, 2015

ABISY, RSS and women: In August itself, the RSS briefed about the conference[1] as could be noted from the Indian express. From December 24 to 26, Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana (ABISY) will hold a three-day conference in Mysore, where around 1,000 delegates will discuss “Women in Indian culture: through the ages”. “We will discuss their strength and their importance in various phases of Indian history. Women in Rig Vedic times enjoyed a high status in society but due to several reasons their status began to decline,” said Balmukund, an RSS pracharak working with ABISY. Sources say an RSS meeting in Nainital discussed the gender ratio in RSS affiliates (see chart). “Representation of women is gradually increasing in our organisations. At the Ahmedabad conclave, we will discuss several aspects of women empowerment and their role in our organisations,” said Mahila Samanway chief Geeta Tayi Gunde, who coordinates among the affiliates on women’s issues. Though RSS shakhas don’t allow women, a separate organisation called Rashtra Sevika Samiti holds women’s shakhas on the lines of RSS shakhas[2]. But, RSS has been having dialogue with Christians and Muslims. However, they are not able to counter negative reorting of media, whenever, it is mentioned that they are against so-and-so and so on[3].

Aggressive left historiansThe aggressive domination of the Leftist and Muslim historians: The excessive, extreme and unnecessary domination of the leftists and Muslim groups over the proceedings of IHC has been resented, questioned and examined by neutral historians, archaeologists and other connected experts many times. The way they have been projecting the medieval and modern periods and suppressing the ancient period and also the interpretation of national, social, religious and political issues, problems and controversies in a biased manner much against the interests of common Indians[4]. The IHC coetrie have been authoritatively imposing such one-sided view for the last 60 years, as could be noted not only from the yearly proceedings volumes, but also their interviews, views and comments registered in the media on various occassions. Ironically the charges of so-called elite, eminent and emeritus hisorians have been proved baseless even at the level of Supreme Court, when their own engaged experts filed petitions alleging the saaffronization of educational curriculum, academic and social institutions, the Hon’ble Court ruled out dismissing them. Romila Thapar agitated and openly questioned the judgment dubbing as “Hindutwa judgment” and declared that they would be appealing against the judgment, but noting happened. So in a democaratic country, all views have to be accommodated, naturally, the so-called rightist, nationalist and hindutwa views also be provided space equally. As the dominant leftist and Muslim coetrie does not relish this, the ideological struggle has now been turned into political one and for which they are responsible. This was revealed even during the IHC-2014 jeld at JNU taking the issue of “glorification of Nehruvian era”[5].

marxist-historian-work-together-ideologicallyABISY, RSS and IHC: RSS and IHC were having ideological struggle over Indin history, historiography and methodoloy for the last three decades. While the IHC dominant groups have been moving ahead with the current topics, recent issues and contemporary problems, the rightist, nationalist and patriotic counterparts have not even realized their exisence. Most of them have been almost The IHC ideological bandwagon and aggressive coetrie many times do not recongize peer group experts, only because of the reason that they might be against their ideology. Thus, many prominent, professional and secialized historians, archaeologists, epigraphists, numismaticians and others were / are never invited or allowed to attend the conference by their own “rogue mannerism” but showing off as “expertized professionalism”.  Though RSS has been trying to counter them through ABISY and BISS, their heads, zonal heads and members have been –

  1. Not matching with the professionalism of the leftist and Muslim ideologists.
  2. The vigour started in 1980s died down with changed persons heading[6].
  3. Instead of “offensive”, “defensive” position is taken in the match, however, there have been some individual fighters, but they are ignored by the rightists.
  4. In spite of the judicial victory[7], they could not continue the academic struggle with proficiency, professionalism and practice[8].
  5. inexperienced in preseting papers, if at all, they come forward to present.
  6. read and understand Indian history any perspective.
  7. Ameteurish, unprofessional and incompetent in dealing with their ideological opponents.
  8. Dormant because of excessive patriotism and refused to look at other ideologists in right perspective.
  9. Ignore, sideline and even disregard the exerienced who come to join, work with and get along the ABISY and BISS.
  10. Active only when BJP or NDA is in power and latent during other periods.

Unless, the rightists do not revaluate, reassess and reorganize themselves, they cannot win the battle.

Nehruvian era, IHC, ICHR and RSS (2014): Even as Madan Mohan Malaviya and Shyamaprasad Mookerjee continue to make news headlines, Jawaharlal Nehru dominated a day in New Delhi where historians praised his role, at an event that was sponsored among others by the state governments of Kerala, Karnataka and Assam, all Congress-led administrations. The three-day long Platinum Jubilee edition of the Indian History Congress (IHC), which concluded in JNU last year, also counts the Union government bodies ICHR andUGC among its main sponsors. The IHC Association, which organizes the meet, had set a broad direction for the annual event with the theme ‘Humanism, Tolerance and Reason: Defining the Contours of History’. But two panels under the auspices of the left-leaning JNU and Aligarh Historians’ Society (AHS) expressly focused on discussions and paper presentations concerning the Nehruvian Era and its current relevance, and the past and present forms of inequality in India, respectively[9]. But Dr Rakesh Batabyal, Local Secretary of the IHC, said there was nothing much political to read into the event. “We had written to all state governments for sponsorship and received from these three. Also, the HRD Ministry through UGC and ICHR has also sponsored the event, so there is nothing political about it,” he said. Batabyal pointed out that ICHR head Y. Sudharshan Rao – an appointee of the BJP-led Central government[10] – had also been invited and he attended the event. “The reason for focusing on Nehru was on account of the commemoration of the ex-PM’s Golden death anniversary. Also, we have voices from the economic right to left, it was an open field, he added. He also conceded, though, that finding historians from cultural right was difficult, and thus no presence could be seen,” he said. On its part, the RSS-affiliated history research organization was not too impressed with the event. “We used to go for the event in the past, but now none of our office bearers goes. The IHCA is a communist-leaning organization,” Mukul Pandey (sic), General Secretary of the ABISY, told ET[11].

[3] The ABISY is working on several projects to rewrite history. Last year the outfit organised a function at National Museum to pay homage to the “last Hindu emperor of Delhi Hemu Vikramaditya”. From December 24 to 26, ABISY will hold a three-day conference in Mysore, where around 1,000 delegates will discuss “Women in Indian Culture: Through the Ages.” – See more at: http://indianexpress.com/article/india/india-news-india/tatya-tope-rss-linked-outfit-backs-descendants-theory-on-his-death/#sthash.KZjgannq.dpuf

[4] The Proceeding volumes sprak the truth and the papers chosen to include expose their bias, prejudice and hatred against others. Many times, very good researched papers, eventhough recommended by the sectional presidents after much appreciated discussion, were not included brcause of such professional, ideological and regional bias.

[5] The Economic Times, Historians praise Jawaharlal Nehru at annual Indian History Congress Association meet,AKSHAY DESHMANE, ET Bureau Dec 30, 2014, 09.33PM IST.

[6] During the New Delhi session, many of the faithfuls simply sent the life membership money with the note, “As per the directions of Mananiya Moropant Pingely, I hereby send the fees”. Alerted and bewildered by them, the ruling IHC bandwagon simply rejected their membership. However, both had been proved wrong, as the Delhi High Court decided differently, when they went to court.

[7] The so-called “Hindutwa” judgment consequent to the NCERT issue and coupled with “saffronization of academic curriculum”, the rightwing ideologists did not pursue the issue professionally.

[8] Note below what Balamkund says about it! . On its part, the RSS-affiliated history research organization was not too impressed with the event. “We used to go for the event in the past, but now none of our office bearers goes. The IHCA is a communist-leaning organization,” Mukul Pandey (sic), General Secretary of the ABISY, told ET.

[9] IHC dominat ideologists manipulate the session by bringing some unassuming paper presenters to force their views on others. This they have been doing in the case of RJM controversy also, making one fellow to present a paper “Ayodhya was in Afganistan”!

[10] This way of reporting has also been biased, because during the non-BJP regimes, the members were only the “appointees” of Communist, Muslim and Congress parties. In fact, the media should be balanced enough to address the issues properly without any pre-conceived notions.

Castration as a punishment for pedophiles, child-rapists, and all rapists!

Castration as a punishment for pedophiles, child-rapists, and all rapists!

Pedophile crime increases in India - TOI graphics

Pedophile crime increases in India – TOI graphics

“Barbaric crimes should definitely attract barbaric models of punishment”[1]: In a strongly-worded order, the Madras High Court had earlier this month recommended castration as punishment to child sex abusers observing that “barbaric crimes should definitely attract barbaric models of punishment”[2]. Justice N Kirubakaran, in a recent order against a British national, made the recommendation to the Centre saying that castration would achieve “magical results” in preventing child abuse. “When law is ineffective and incapable of addressing the menace, this court cannot keep its hands folded and remain a silent spectator, unmoved and oblivious of the recent happenings of horrible blood-curdling gang rapes of children in various parts of India,” he said[3] castration for child rapists would fetch “magical” results in preventing child abuse. The judge said this while dismissing a petition by the accused, a British national, who sought the quashing of the proceedings against him in a lower court. The judge further said that “though the suggestion of castration looks barbaric, barbaric crimes should definitely attract barbaric models of punishment” and the very thought of the punishment should deter the culprit from committing the offence. Anticipating a reaction to his judgment, he said: “Those activists should first exhibit sympathy with, and support to, the victims of such crimes by visiting and consoling them at the hour of crisis instead of having misplaced sympathy with the perpetrators under the usual banner of ‘human rights violation’. They must remember that ‘human rights’ is not a term restricted to, and reserved only, for offenders.” He also directed the Union government to decide on introducing compulsory sex education for high school students. “Denying youngsters correct and scientific information would lead [them] to acquire half-baked and incorrect knowledge from other sources, like Internet, friends and movies, creating misconception and doubts.”

Childabuse-castration-Z-news depiction

Childabuse-castration-Z-news depiction

The accused paedophile has been from Britain[4]: Taking note of the number of cases of foreigners abusing children, the judge referred to the International Child Protection Certificate (ICPC) developed by the United Kingdom to protect children and said the visa form issued by the Indian Embassy had to be amended with the provision of a column requiring the applicants to give the details of convictions, actions warranting reprimands and impending cases. According to the prosecution in the present case, the British national, had sexually abused a 15-year old student in 2011, after befriending the family by promising the mother that he would support her son’s education. The accused eventually took the Class 9 boy to Delhi, where he allegedly abused the victim, including attempts to have sexual intercourse. After the Briton left for London, with the help of the Justice and Care Organisation, the victim filed a complaint on the incident, following which a case was registered under relevant sections of the IPC and Juvenile Justice Protection Act. After the Judicial Magistrate took cognisance of the case in 2012, following the filing of the final report, the accused moved the court seeking to quash the proceedings against him. Following the issuance of the non-bailable warrant against him, a red alert was issued against the accused by the Interpol. The accused contended that the notice was preventing him from coming to India to defend the case. The judge has dismissed his plea to quash the proceedings against him but stayed the red corner notice so that he can come to India to appear before the trial court and face the case.

Abha singh and Pramila Nesargi

Abha singh and Pramila Nesargi

The opinion of Abha Singh, social activist[5]: Welcoming the Madras High Court’s suggestion of considering castration as punishment for child rapists, two social activists on 26-10-2015, Monday said that the suggestion made to the Centre was apt as the existing Indian law is unable to protect the child from abuses. “Child abuse cases in India are increasing. The Madras High Court in one such case has come up strongly and said that the Indian law is unable to prevent child abuses. The conviction rate in child abuse cases is barely 2.4 per cent whereas the offences against children have increased by 400 per cent,” social activist Abha Singh told ANI. “When rapists are going scot-free and paedophiles are going scot-free, a Madras High Court judge has rightly suggested that there should be castration. Many other countries like UK, USA, Polland and many other countries subscribe to castration and it has been seen that it has been successful in checking the paedophiles,” she added.

What Pramila Nesargi opined[6]: Another social activist and lawyer Pramila Nesargi echoing similar sentiments expressed her delight with the Madras High Court judge’s suggestion. “I always advocated that castration can be the only remedy because the existing law is not creating any fear in the minds of the people. People may call it barbaric but judge has openly said that barbaric punishment should be given for barbaric crimes,” Nesargi told ANI. However, when such cases were reported earlier, the activists were not responding. In Indian society, the social aberrations have been introduced or created due to external factors, distorting the existing social system and institutions. The offenders have been escaping under the newly created laws with the crimes committed before the enactment.  The sociologists, psychologists and other researchers opine based on these incidences, which are happening in a country with 1.2 billion population. As so many external and internal factors have been disturbing, the people also get affected. Allowing modern evils at one side, supporting them under the guise of  human rights and so on and crying wolf about eroding moral values have been the characteristics of  the commentators on Indian society.

Dilemma of Indian society caught in many social issues: In India, most of the child-rapists or paedophiles have been foreigners. The number of child abuse cases has increased from 38,172 in 2012 to 58,224 in 2013 and to 89,423 in 2014. Incidentally in 2013, at the height of the protests in the capital over the Nirbhaya case, Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa had similarly called for death or chemical castration for rapists through amendments in Central laws[7]. As Bangalore has been prone to foreigners satisfying their needs, issues have been alive in the case of pubs, pub-dancing, soliciting and other activities, which might be viewed and interpreted differently. Of the 51 cases of child abuse under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act in the special court for children in Bengaluru, only four have ended in convictions. More than 90% charged under the Pocso Act are acquitted due to lack of evidence and when witnesses turn hostile[8]. Not that evidences were not there, but, the manipulators could influence the involved processes. As example, it is mentioned that children migrating from Tamil Nadu and northern India to the city are the main victims of child abuse whose cases are tried in the session court. Most of these children live with their mothers and fall prey to step-fathers and other offendes. Most abusers are between 25 years and 50 years. The youngest victim so far is just a year old. But, this could be the situation for all Indian children. The highest number of FIRs has been registered in Rajasthan followed by Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Kerala according to data available with the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR). The number of convictions is only 166 that is 2.4% of the total cases registered while in 389 cases accused were acquitted[9].

Madras / Chennai has been haven for paedophiles: For inexplicable reasons or otherwise, Chennai has seen many international paedophiles got arrested. The locals have also been aiding and abetting such offenders and promoting social crimes. The manipulation of cyber-space has been revealed in many acts. Child rights activists in Chennai have forced authorities to shut down two Facebook pages in Tamil created to attract pedophiles in May 2015. The pages, called ‘chinna ponnu karpazhipom‘ and ‘chinna ponnu veriyargal’ which in Tamil roughly translates to ‘young girl having sex’, had photographs of young girls with a number of sexually explicit comments.

They were spotted by social activists who immediately contacted the authorities to take it down, CNN-IBN reports[10]. 53-year-old Eric Martin alias Jack Fernandes , convicted for raping nine girls in 1998,  had gained entry into India through Nepal and was staying in Madhavaram in Chennai. He had been on the run ever since he was convicted in France and was on Interpol’s Wanted list[11], but arrested in Chennai on November 17, 2010.

Patrick Matthews, a 62-year-old UK national who was accused of sexually abusing several boys of St George Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School in the city between 2003 and 2006, has been arrested by the UK police in August 2009. Sources told TOI that the police arrested Matthews from the UK on Thursday night based on evidences collected from Chennai[12]. Wilhelmus Weijdeveld, the 56-year-old Dutch national now in prison facing charges of child sexual abuse and supplying child pornography, had found that India suited him best’ and even filed for citizenship as early as in 1999, thwarting the attempts of the police to drive him away from the country. He even filed a writ petition against the state of Tamil Nadu, after the Mamallapuram police asked him to leave the country. It was only after three years, on May 02, 2002, that he was arrested for sexually abusing five boys in an orphanage near Mamallapuram. Out on bail, Wilhelmus was arrested again from his Choolaimedu den in Chennai on November 7, 2009 following an Interpol tip-off that he was uploading child pornography on the internet[13].  These are given only for illustrative purpose, as many cases have been reported regularly, and most of them been from the orphanages run by the missionaries in and around Chennai. Therefore, the Judge must have been aware of such incidences. Stringent legislation was the need of the hour to penalise child sexual abuse via the Internet, said Chief Justice of India, Justice P. Sathasivam[14], while inaugurating  two day Southern regional conference on Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO Act, 2012)’, in Chennai, in November 2013.  Therefore, castration as punishment to them, as proposed has been the logical conclusion.

“Religion, Tradition and Ideology: Pre-colonial South India” by Champakalakshmi: A Marxist interpretation!

April 7, 2011

“Religion, Tradition and Ideology: Pre-colonial South India” by Champakalakshmi: A Marxist interpretation!

South India‘s cultural past not confined to one religion: Prof. Champakalakshmi[1]: The Hindu reports, “The empirical pre-eminence in the study of history in inscription-rich Tamil Nadu and a modern outlook on historiography combine to provide a fresh understanding of the past in a book launched here on Tuesday (05-04-2011). Religion, Tradition and Ideology: Pre-colonial South India” (Oxford University Press) is a collection of essays by historian R. Champakalakshmi, discussing the origins and development of multiple religious traditions and their role in the evolution of a rich and complex socio-religious matrix in pre-colonial south India. Champakalakshmi, who retired as professor of the Centre for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), has debunked the usual simplistic continuities between Vedic times and the present day that is the staple of the conventional historian’s approach, and attempted to show how conflicting, even irreconcilable beliefs and practices, were incorporated into the Sanskritic tradition”.

From “Indologist to historian and social scientist”: The report goes on to say, “As history is dying in schools and colleges, and he history teachers have been loosing their jobs, they have started crying wolf with changed roles. Thus, it is reported that “the work, which is the consummation of almost five decades of research during which the author “transformed from an Indologist to historian and social scientist,” sketches the emergence of Brahminism as a dominant tradition and the marginalisation of the “sramanic” religions — Jainism and Buddhism — in the socio-economic and political context”. N. Ram, Editor-in-Chief of The Hindu, launched the book by handing over the first copy to Iravatham Mahadevan, an expert on Indus and Tamil-Brahmi scripts. Describing the publication as “rich in its material and many-sided in its historical offerings,” Mr. Ram said one of the notable aspects was the nuanced treatment of the interaction between the Brahminical and “sramanic” religions. The author’s approach to caste and community was a breakthrough contribution in understanding caste and its changing dynamics with the community as was her bold treatment of the hegemony of one religion in an otherwise pluralistic tradition, Mr. Ram said”.

There existed no Vedic linkage to the term Hindu which first originated during the Vijayanagara period of the 14th century: The report goes on, “Mr. Mahadevan said the author in her role of historian was “a bridge between tradition and modernity,” a product of the University of Madras who held on to conservative values and yet blossomed to expand her perspective in the JNU milieu. Professor Champakalakshmi was someone who, while being rooted in tradition, brought to historiography the searchlight of modernity, he said. Professor. Champakalakshmi said her over 55 years of research and teaching had been “an eventful and fascinating journey” that took her through many untrodden avenues of India‘s historical past. Noting that south India’s cultural past was not confined to one religion — in fact, there existed no Vedic linkage to the term Hindu which first originated during the Vijayanagara period of the 14th century — Professor Champakalakshmi said she had studied counter-traditions (such as Jainism) to understand the historical processes that led to the dominance of Brahminism. Shashank Sinha, OUP senior commissioning manager, said the book was another illustration of south India‘s emergence as an important component of the publishing programme that ranges across performing arts, music and literature”.

Hinduism to become the dominant tradition and ideology after its development and reworking: Under “Description”, the publishers give the following[2]: “This book discusses the multiple facets, dominant characteristics, and historical trajectories of religious traditions in pre-colonial south India. It explores how Hinduism, primarily the Brahmanical tradition, developed and reworked itself in the context of challenges posed by Buddhism and Jainism to become the dominant tradition and ideology in south Indian society and polity. Examining the linkages between religion and politics, the volume also investigates alternative vernacular traditions, rituals and practices, temple architecture, iconography and other representational art forms that evolved as symbols of power. A detailed introduction weaves together the different aspects and introduces new questions for further research”.

Religion is for the believers, as the ideology is for the Marxist historians: 55 years journey cannot compel the 5500 years old believers with their established belief system, that has already been tested many-many times. The branding of “Bhrahmanical” religion is a myth, as such gabblers never talk about “Khastriya  religion”, “Vaisya religion”, and “Sudra religion”. In fact, they do not explain such “Varna system” existing in other religions. By interpreting the divisions of a society by caste, community by denomination, people by ethnos, or by any other expression the existing vertical or horizontal, social stratifications, or structural arrangements cannot be ignored or suppressed. Therefore, hegemonic interpretation alone cannot be used for such forced conclusion. Days, years, decades and even millenniums have been passing on and in such a milieu, the Hindu religion or the religion of Indians have been no doubt changing, but not ideologically. The question of ideological interpretation of Hindu religion, in the pre-colonial context, cannot take away the facts of underlying[3] the so-called “Shramanic religions”[4].  That Buddhism and Jainism to play crucial role during the Vijayanagara to Colonial period, they had to be resurrected and brought.

Conflicting, even irreconcilable beliefs and practices, were incorporated into the Sanskritic tradition: In religion, that too, followed by millions of people at time and place naturally exhibit differences. In performing rites, rituals, ceremonies, festivals, the regional variance would be there in physical forms depending upon the natural differences. Whenever, any material required for performing rites, rituals, ceremonies, festivals, etc., are not available, substitutes are taken. Such practices, might be opposed by the traditionalists and conservatives initially, but, slowly reconciled, understanding the practical difficulties. This is just like Siva having moustache and beard or without them, as depicted in pictures and sculptures. But, Parvati never claim any “immaculate conception” to have Subramanya / Karttikeya like Mary! Krishna might be in blacks and blues, but, devotees love and like him like Radha and Meera.  They would not preach ahimsa killing and eating animals like Buddhists. Even children or atheists know that “Ramarajya” is talked about by all ideologists and not about “Ravana rajya”! Even during the medieval and pre-colonial period, the other counter-traditions or anti-cultures had to thrive only on such “myths”, if at all, they disbelieve such “greater traditions and bigger heritages”.

Ideological historians never demythologize other religions to present facts: The ideological historians can very well demythologize non-Indian, non-Bharatiya, colonial, Semitic religions to present facts behind the fundamental tenets, as they interpret Hindu religion. Why the Mohamedans issued coins with “Rama” or the British incorporated “Ramrajya” would not be discussed by these historians.  Romila Thapar would not appear then and there and threaten with going on appeal against the Supreme Court judgments as in the case of Temple-mosque disputes.  That is why believers or common people remember Rama’s bridge without caring for the engineer or the college where such engineer studied. In other words, instead of Rama, the Mohammedan and colonial forces must have issued coins with Ravana. “Shramanic” unbelievers or anti-Vedic followers would not have incorporated Lakshmi and other Goddesses for their profits. However, they would discuss about Hindus believers to copy from the Mohammedans to learn Advaita; to adopt syncretism incorporating Mohammedan philosophy; and so on without any conflict, contradiction or reconcilable accommodation.
