Dravidian DK-DMK have been definitely anti-Hindu and neo-atheist rabid, but, pro-Mohammedan and Christian for votes!

Dravidian DK-DMK have been definitely anti-Hindu and neo-atheist rabid, but, pro-Mohammedan and Christian for votes!

Karuanidhi abused Hindu as thief; questioned Rama, in which college he took engineering degree to build bridge and so on!

Karuanidhi abused Hindu as thief; questioned Rama, in which college he took engineering degree to build bridge and so on!

Dravidian leaders have been anti-Hindu and blasphemous in their speeches and writings: EVR or the so-called Periyar “great person” had been totally anti-Hindu and brought out dozens of anti-Hindu tracts without any historical or logical basis. However, they have been printed, reprinted and circulated by the Self-Respect Publishers, Vepery, DK Headquarters. Those who read, have been simply carried away and they never verified the veracity and historicity of what he wrote some 80 years ago. The trend continued with Annadurai, who was a less rabble rouser with verbose and double-meaning. As for as Karunanidhi is concerned, he had been vulgar, blasphemous and indecent commenter. Thus, his son Stalin and daughter Kanimozhi have been in the same way, abusing and blaspheming Hindu religion, scriptures and practices. As their, anti-Hindu activities, discourses and abuses have been in Tamil, perhaps, they are not known to other language knowing Indians and believers.

Karunandhi had been dexterous to exploit every occasion to attack Hindu religion etc., in his own way!

Karunandhi had been dexterous to exploit every occasion to attack Hindu religion etc., in his own way!

The Dravidian leaders abuse ladies even inside Tamil Nadu State assembly: The double entendre, double-meaning, speaking with vulgar verbose have been the standards, feature and hallmark of Dravidian stage speech, dialogue and discussion, whether on the stage or inside the Tamil Nadu state Assembly. Karunanidhi’s remarks against T. N. Anatha Nayaki[1], Jeyalalita[2] and others have been too well-known to be repeated here. As for as theism is concerned, it has been anti-Hindu only and they ave never commented or talked against Mohammedans of Christians. Their commonality has been to attend Ifter and Christmas parties, eat with them and comment upon the Hindu festivals in contrast.  Karunanidi has been the trend setter in this aspect. If all of his comments are compiled, a book can be brought out.

Stalin anti-hindu, Indian Express

Stalin’s clarification came of April Fool’s Day: DMK president M K Stalin 01-04-2019, Monday asserted that his party was not against any religion[3] and deprecated what he called a disinformation campaign that his outfit was an “enemy of Hindus.” Ironically, the day has been “Fools Day,” commemorated on April 1st by playing practical jokes and spreading hoaxes. The jokes and their victims are called April fools. People playing April Fool jokes often expose their prank by shouting “April fool(s)” at the unfortunate victim(s). Some newspapers, magazines and other published media report fake stories, which are usually explained the next day or below the news section in smaller letters. Aside from April Fools’ Day, the custom of setting aside a day for the playing of harmless pranks upon one’s neighbour has historically been relatively common.

Stalin anti-hindu, Times Now

Jagathrakshakan might be a believer, but, Stalin not: The Dravidian party chief, addressing a poll rally near Pandianallur, Sholingur, Vellore, described his party nominee for the Arakkonam Lok Sabha constituency, S Jagathrakshakan, as a deeply spiritual man who spent his money during his previous tenure as MP to renovate hundreds of temples in Arakkonam, besides developing infrastructure and undertaking other welfare initiatives[4]. “Jagathrakshakan has another specialty. He is a deeply spiritual person[5]. Some are even today criticising DMK as an enemy of the Hindus. Are you saying this even after seeing him (Jagathrakshakan)..?” The DMK chief blamed sections of the media for deliberately creating a false impression that his party was against the Hindus[6]. It is not the question of Jagathrakshakan seen with him or DMK, but, the other way. He joined DMK, evidently, to break the Vanniyar vote, but, he did not want to be an atheist.

Abusing Hindu religions, Gurus and all, he allowed his first wife to portray before Sai Baba!

Abusing Hindu religions, Gurus and all, he allowed his first wife to portray before Sai Baba!

“…….we accepted God or not, he had accepted us”: Stalin said the party follows what late leaders CN Annadurai (Anna) and M Karunanidhi had spelt on the religion. “Anna had stated that onre kulam; oruvane devan (one God, one community)[7]. We are following this ideal. We are never against (the belief in) God,” he explained, adding Kalaignar (Karunanidhi) had said that whether we accepted God or not, he had accepted us[8]. Citing the popular dialogue “we are not against temples, our principle is that it should not become a camp of the wicked,” written by his late father M Karunanidhi in the 1952 Tamil film “Parasakthi,” he said the DMK had never been against those worshipping God[9].  Tamil Nadu people know very well about these leaders. When the Pillaiyar / Vinayaka idols were broken by EVR, the poonools cut by the Dravidian cadres, women attacked with virulent abusive language, no action was taken. Karunanishi had been more virulent and abusive in his language. And they have not been so spiritual, if at all of any spirituality, it is highly idiotic to claim that, “…….we accepted God or not, he had accepted us”!

Stalin anti-hindu, money control

Men blaspheming and wives worship – is this could be called as secular or showing equal respect to all religion or not anti-Hindu?: Stalin said his wife offered prayers at temples every day and added that he had never prevented her from visiting shrines since it was her wish[10]. Men blaspheming and wives worship – is this could be called as secular or showing equal respect to all religion or not anti-Hindu? Even, children may not agree with this type of logic. “They (sections of the media) are, however, indulging in a disinformation campaign that DMK is against the Hindus and temple worship,” he said and added that people are not ready to believe it. Stalin said when he took over as party chief last year, he categorically stated at the general council that he would be for all religions and against none; that his party would be on the side of all religions and not discriminate on the basis of caste or religion. “I had spoken categorically that DMK is not against any religion. However, continuously, sections of media and press are indulging in wrong propaganda. We are not worried about it as people are on our side,” he said.

When he went to housing board, one woman affectionately applied kumkum on his forehead, but, he erased immediately, and all onlookers were shocked!

When he went to housing board, one woman affectionately applied kumkum on his forehead, but, he erased immediately, and all onlookers were shocked!

Stalin’s attitude also is known to public: The top DMK leader’s assertion that his party was not against any religion comes nearly two months after a video clip surfaced on social media purportedly showing Stalin criticising Vedic ceremonies in Hindu weddings. After the two-year-old clip surfaced, the ruling AIADMK had accused Stalin of trying to divide people on religious lines. In the 1.28-minute video, Stalin purportedly takes potshots at “Vaidika,” Hindu marriages presided over by a Brahmin priest. The smoke from the yagna (havan) makes not only the bride and groom “cry a little,” but also those around to witness the ceremony and creates a sombre ambience, the DMK leader was seen purportedly commenting in the video. Rejecting claims that Stalin’s speech was offensive, a DMK spokesperson had said marriages sans ceremonies had all along been the cornerstone of the party’s ideology. “It is a two-year-old video clip and it has now been released seeking to gain political mileage by right wing supporters,” the spokesperson said and added that the video featured only a portion of Stalin’s speech. Stalin has been caught by the believers, when, he erased kumkum, Sandal paste applied on his forehead at two places. This has also created aversion against his attitude. Above all, these leaders wish on te occasion of festivals and celebrations of Mohammedans and Christians, but, they never participate in Hindu festivals. On the contrary, the DK mouth peace “Viduthalai” comes out with blasphemous articles and these leaders pass negative comments, that too, participating in their festivals.

Stalin response to The Hindu 23-09-2018

In 2018 also, the same issue cropped up, because of the attitude of Stalin: Last year, 2018, when a question, “You took a stand on God in the party’s general council for the first time[11]. Was it because you feel that it is difficult to run a campaign against God and religion, especially after the BJP’s growth?” was asked, Stalin, explained as follows[12]: “I would like to give a detailed reply. Anna proclaimed that there was “one God and one race”. He also said, “I would not break Pillaiyar, nor will I break coconut for him.” Kalaignar had reiterated this point many times. But a section is deliberately suppressing these facts and seeking to portray us as atheist and anti-Hindu. Kalaignar always had a non-partisan approach. He was not against faith in God or in religion (as his actions in government would prove). When I spoke about God, I kept in mind the ideas of Anna and Kalaignar. Contrary to your assumption, the DMK has never preached against God and religion”.

June 2018, SriRangam temple, Stalin, priest apply paste-Stalin removed-BJP

Stalin is afraid of losing Hindu votes: Now, because of elections and his anti-Modi tirade, he cannot justify his more rabid anti-Hindu hate speech, or his rants coming out through Verramani and others would not be ignored by the voters. As these leaders try to appeal Dravidian cadres by allowing their women folk to be so faithful to Hindu religion, but, talk nonsense and DMK talk less nonsence, but allow DK Veeramani to talk more nonsense,  people may not be so fools to keep quite. At one stage, they may retaliate as Hindus. That only, Stalin denies not want and now clarifies. As Rahul and Priyanka have started going to temples and doing all antics, Stalin also may visit few temples, like Titumavalavan, who talked openly that all temples should be destroyed. And Sathur Ramachandran has already unveiled their dubious plan, “We can easily fool Hindus by applying vibhudhi on our foreheads, they would vote for us”!

Vairamuthu’s research on Andal, the “quoted quote research methodology,” and the confession of “eminent historians”!

January 20, 2018

Vairamuthu’s research on Andal, the “quoted quote research methodology,” and the confession of “eminent historians”!

Andal, Vairamuthu controversy

The controversy started with Vairamuthu on Andal (07-1-2018): What Vairamuthu wrote about Andal as appeared in “Dinamani” in Tamil, and its translation is given as follows[1]: “As Andal was not born to Periyazhwar, there were no details available about her birth, though, she was brought up by a Brahmin, as the society that was controlled with caste stratification might not accept her into such caste hierarchy, Andal herself had already attained the freedom of word with force and there was a practice of offering women to temple accepted by the then society, some researchers have been compelled to arrive at stunning conclusions. The book ‘Indian Movement: some aspects of dissent, protest and reform’ edited by Subash Chandra Malik of Indiana University, USA contains such reference as follows: Andal was herself a devadasi who lived and died in the Srirangam Temple. The devotees might not accept this, but, those who oppose patriarchy and socio-religious (code) might think about it.” This created the controversy that is still raging in Tamilnadu and some parts of Andhra and Karnataka. Ironically, now, Dinamani has removed the controversial or rather blasphemous article and their regrets are appearing there[2].

Vairamuthu, Vaidhyanathan, dinamani

Verification of the book referred to by Vairamuthu: Now, let us analyze the “quote” of the learned poet and writer of Vairamuthu. As he has given the reference, now, as a “researcher”, anyone can go to the source and verify.

India movements, S C Malik edited book

Thus, let us see the book under reference. M. G. S. Narayanan and Veluthat Kesavan published a paper, “The Bhakti Movement in South India” in “Indian Movements: Some Aspects of Dissent Protest and Reform,” edited and introduced by S. C. Malik and published by Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla in 1978. In which, what they claimed was,

Cheraman Perumal Nayanar notes the reception given to Shiva by devadasis of all ages while he went out in procession around the streets in Kailas35, and Andal herself is a Devadasi who lived and died in the Sri Rangam Temple36.

Quotations of MGS

The two footnotes given for support for those two lines are as follows:

  1. Ceraman Perumal Nayanar, Adiyula, M. Raghava Aiyangar, ed. Caruventar Ceyyukovai, 1951, Trivandrum, Vol.II, pp.136-64.
  1. T. A. Gopinatha Rao, The History of Sri Vaishnavas, Madras, 1923, Madras, p. 5.

MGS, Kesavan , tthe book

So when we look at page no.5 of the said book, what, T. A. Gopinatha Rao recorded is this, “When she reached marriageable age, she refused to marry anyone except the God Ranganatha of the Srirangam temple. The God appeared to the Alvar in a dream to declare before him his acceptance of the girl in marriage and ordered her to be brought to his residence at Srirangam. Periyalvar took her there with great eclat and left her in her Lord’s house and returned to his quiet residence at Srivilliputtur.

Quotations of MGS- TAG Rao reference

Therefore, there is nothing like what the learned historians M. G. S. Narayanan and Veluthat Kesavan reportedly claimed, “Andal herself is a Devadasi who lived and died in the Sri Rangam Temple.” Why then, the leaned “historians” wrote in that way and what was their motive?

Quotations of MGS- TAGopinatha Rao reference,p.5

M. G. S. Narayanan clarified to Dinathanthi that there was no such reference to Devadasi[3]: When Asoka Vardhini contacted M. G. S. Narayanan through phone, he accepted that there was no specific reference to Andal as devadasi and he mentioned it based on inference only. He also accepted that Veluthat Kesavan was a student of him, doing M.A history (implying that he might not have been having research expertise at that time). There is no inscriptional evidence to that effect and it was written only based on “oral tradition.” When she asked specifically, he specifically confessed that there is no primary evidence and even secondary evidence to that effect, it was a controversial interpretation and a “matter of inference”. Then, naturally, it is intriguing and shocking to know as to know how they could have written conclusively, “Andal was herself a devadasi who lived and died in the Srirangam Temple.” Now, he is considered as one of reputed and eminent historians of India, former chairman of ICHR and so on. Why them, they stooped to such “quoted quote” research methodology, amounting faking and forging such lies and falsehood in historiography?

Vairamuthu regrets for Andal comments

The implications of “quoted quote research,” bogey of “eminent historians” and other modern-day mythistories: Now let us analyze their quotations, reportedly lifted from two books mentioned above.

  1. The book in question was published by Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla in 1978 and not by Indiana University, USA as claimed by Vairamuthu.
  1. Vairamuthu should have verified the sources before quoting, that too, part of a sentence picking up from their paper. He must have consulted the original sources (as he knows Tamil very well) and also other secondary sources after 1978 to present his speech and “researched” article appeared.
  1. Ironically, he and the press, still carry such wrong and falsified blabbering[4]. “As part of my research for writing this article on Aandaal, I happened to read a collection of articles edited by Subhash Chandra Malik in the name of “Indian Movements: Some Aspects of Dissent, Protest and Reform”, the original from Indiana University and published by Indian Institute of Advanced Study in 1978. It is very much an Indian research study by Indian historians,”thus claimed Vairamuthu.[5]
  1. Vairamuthu added, “Professor M.G.S Narayanan & Professor Kesavan Veiuthat. Professor M. G. S Narayanan is considered as “one of India’s top authorities on ancient history” and has served as the chairman of Indian Council of Historical Research. Professor Kesavan Veluthat is the Professor of History in University of Delhi. The line mentioned in my article was from a reputed publication and by reputed historians.” But, M. G. S. Narayanan now refuted. Here, Vairamuthu mentioned, “G.S Narayanan is considered as “one of India’s top authorities on ancient history,” whereas, the subject dealt with has not been so ancient!
  1. Cheraman Perumal Nayanar notes the reception given to Shiva by devadasis of all ages while he went out in procession around the streets in Kailas35.” M. G. S. Narayanan himself accepted that the story of Cheraman Perumal was a myth floated after 13th century by the vested Mohammedan groups. Therefore, the question of devadasis of all sorts going out in procession is redundant, immaterial and incompetent.
  1. Andal herself is a Devadasi who lived and died in the Sri Rangam Temple36.” This is also fake, fraudulent and deceptive, as T.A. Gopinatha Rao never mentioned such sentence in his book, as pointed out above.
  1. It is unbecoming for these researchers, now, paraded as “historians” to quote that was not there in a book, secondary source.
  1. It exposes the dubious and dangerous nature of “quoted quote” research methodology, as most of the researchers, may not look into the quotes recorded by the “eminent historians.”
  1. Coming to ideology, it is evident that the involved personalities have been Marxists and atheists and thus, their speeches and writings have been tarnished with bias, prejudice and without objectivity.
  1. As the Marxist ideology is coupled with Dravidian ideology of atheism, that is directed against Hindu religion, evidently, Hindus have come to streets. How they have been oppressed, suppressed and attacked by them since 1960s have been too well-known to be repeated here.

The World Atheist Conference 2018 conducted on January 5th to 7th 2018 at Trichy (1)

WAC-3, Viduthalai front page

The World Atheist Conference 2018 conducted with tall claims: The World Atheist Conference 2018 (hereinafter mentioned as WAC) was conducted with tall claims made on January 5th to 7th 2016 at Trichy. It was commenced here with an emphasis on setting right in equalities in the society, quelling superstitions, and propagating rationalistic thinking. Titled ‘Atheism – Hope of Humanity’ and what not, the three-day program organised jointly by the Dravidar Kazhagam, Atheist Centre, Vijayawada and The Rationalists’ Forum witnessed delegates representing rationalist organisations in different parts of India and other countries, taking part in the inaugural and plenary sessions, and presenting their views on an array of topics that included atheism, religious fundamentalism, and medicine and atheism[1]. Presiding over, K. Veeramani, president, Dravidar Kazhagam, said atheism in India means much beyond non-belief in supernatural and religious rituals, and that the prime focus was on rectifying untouchability in the society perpetuated in the name of religion, and denial of education on the basis of birth[2].

WAC, Trichy - foreign delegates, Nadaswaram

Features of the Conference (as claimed by the organizers): As claimed by the organizers, Atheist – Humanists around the world participate in the conference, besides the leaders of various atheist, rationalist and humanist organizations from all the States of the country, Paper presentations by atheist scholars and activists followed by deep deliberations on the different perspectives of atheist philosophy, form the major part of the conference proceedings, Sharing of religion-free living culture in various countries / societies and churning up the substance on living free from the fear of god, enabling humanity to progress and peace, Revealing the success, in establishing the egalitarian society free from the belief of non existing ‘god’ through the services of organizations and movements by atheist philosophers and Documenting the pioneering role rendered by atheist movements in the East during the early historical period.

Garry McLelland-WAC, Trichy

The Rationalists’ Forum: The Rationalists’ Forum claims that it, “is a Humanist Movement founded by Periyar in 1971 and presently patronised by Dr. K. Veeramani, President, Dravidar Kazhagam. It is a unique movement, because of the composition of membership and the activities. People who are committed to Periyar ideology and employed in various organisations – government, public private co-operative have shouldered the responsibility of preaching and practicing rationalistic ideals”. The activities include organising meetings, seminars, science exhibition, superstition exposure show to develop scientific temper and humanism among the public. Many State and Central Ministers, Vice Chancellors of Universities, educationalists, officials who are at helm of affairs to-day were the earlier functionaries of The Rationalists’ Forum.

Elizebeth WAC trichy

The Organizers of the Atheist Conference[3]: The organizers have been:

  1. Dravidar Kazhagam (Tamil Nadu), Atheist Centre (Vijayawada) and
  2. The Rationalists’ Forum (Tamil Nadu) jointly organise World Atheist Conference 2018.

WAC is the ideological confluence of atheist, rationalist and humanist fraternity from the countries – England, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, United States etc. and from all the States of India. WAC proceedings cover seminar and sittings with lecture delivery and paper presentation on the various dimensions of atheism , rationalism and humanism. Film show, video presentations, science exhibition, book fair are planned. A massive public procession with demonstrations exposing superstition is scheduled. A Souvenir containing essays, real stories, personal experiences of eminent persons on atheism and allied ideologies gets released on the occasion. Many leaders and persons of eminence from State and Central Governments, educationalists intellectuals participate in the proceedings.

WAC, Trichy - stage-1

Were foreign delegates conscious of the Dravidian atheism?: The foreign delegates attended the conference, but, what they spoke was not revealed by the organizers, the media and the participants:

  1. Gary McLelland[4], Chief Executive, International Humanist and Ethical Union (IHEU), London[5], and
  2. Avinash Patil, Executive President, Maharashtra Andhrashraddha Nirmoolan Samithi, Pune, Maharashtra, were the other guest speakers.
  3. Elizabeth O’ Cassey[6], Director of Advocasy – IHEU, Brussels, Belgium, inaugurated an exhibition of books at the Atheist Book Centre. Rustam Singh, Atheist Alliance International, USA;
  4. Suba Veerapandian, General Secretary, Dravidian Tamil Federation; and
  5. Rajaratnam, Pro-Chancellor, Periyar Institute of Science and Technology (Deemed to be University), Vallam, Thanjavur also spoke.

Five books were released on the occasion: ‘Bhagavad Gita – Myth or Mirage,’ and ‘March of Atheism’ authored by Veeramani, Compilation of ‘Old Testament of Indian Atheism’ by Surendra Anjat, ‘Essays on Matters which Matter’ (A Rationalist’s Perception) by S. Rajaratnam, and Compilation of ‘Revolt’ published by Periyar in 1928 and 1929. It is evident that Compilation of ‘Old Testament of Indian Atheism’ by Surendra Anjat, and conspicuously, there was no book released about the position of atheism in Islam or existence of “Islamic atheists”. As happened in 2011, this year also, most of the foreign delegates came and attended did not know about DK, EVR, Dravidian atheism etc., as they talk about Humanism, human rights, etc.

WAC-3, women delegates from north

Inaugural session: During the inagural session, A. Raja, Sp. Suba Veerapandian, Gary McLelland, Elezabet O’Cassey, Avinash Patil and others spoke and thereafter, papers were presented. Ironically, A. Raja, former Union Minister of Telecommunication (who was in jail for 2G scam, came out on bail and acquitted by the Court recently), said he has been deriving inner strength from atheism. Ironically, the DK-ideologists talked as usual rhetoric with verbose without any new points. As usual, they made “stage-type” talk in Tamil and using few words and sentences in English to show off that it was an international conference. Ironically, the delegates came from Pujab, Maharastra, Andhrapradesh and Kartataka were talking in their mother tongue and Hindi when they conversed with each other. The same thing happened during the All India Atheist Conference held  at Periyar Tidal in May 2010, where, one invitee spoke in Hindi and it was translated by the DK ideologist. Now also, K. Veeramani during his speech accepted that the language bearer exists among the delegates coming from those states. Incidentally, their anti-Hindi stand gets exposed here, as with Tamil alone or any particular regional language alone, they cannot do anything.

The Truth about the leaving mortal coil of Swami Vivekanda: Stop propagating nonsense against him!

Did Vivekanda die for controlling sex- Rekha Padmanabhan

Propaganda against Swami Vivekananda: July 4th happened to be the “Sraddhanjali Day” of Swami Vivekananda, but, this year 2017, I missed it, because of preoccupation with personal problems and conferences.  The Christian propaganda was there, ever since, he dominated the West with his Vedantic influence. That propaganda continues even today by the Christian missionaries and anti-Hindu propagandists with their fantastic stories spun and spread from time to time. I wanted to prepare a note on his “departure from this world,” as some people started misinterpreting his end with their own imaginative suggestions, concocted suppositions and ill-motivated ideas, turning into hypotheses. Ironically, some people have started doing under the guise of “motivational speaker” and so on[1]. Some other give their own of explanation[2]. Thus, I have been compelled to prepare this note hurriedly with the materials available in the internet.

If anybody attacks me, simply ignore his existence-Swami Vivekananda

Swami Vivekananda stood against all odds: Swami Vivekananda suffered heavily due to his restriction of food and ill-health. Slowly, he agreed to wear the warm cloths to protect himself from the climate in USA and European counties. Of course, writers too, used contribute their mite in 20th and 21st centuries with their “scientific” and “rational” interpretations. Thus, the  story Hindustan Times goes in this way: “In a life-span of only 39 years, Swami Vivekananda, who spread the message of India’s spiritual heritage across the world, battled several health problems all along and no less than 31 diseases and ailments[3]. ‘The Monk as Man’ by renowned Bengali writer Shankar lists insomnia, liver and kidney diseases, malaria, migraine, diabetes and heart ailments as some of the 31 health problems that the Swami faced in the course of his life[4]. Shankar describes Swami Vivekananda’s health problems using a Sanskrit quote ‘shariram byadhimandiram’ — the body is the temple of diseases”. How he suffered (from dysentery and fever) during the Paris “World Conference of Religion” was also well known. Yet, he fought battle, many times singularly.

Swami Vivekananda foresees about his health

‘Better to play football than read the Gita’: Yes, Swamiji wanted Indian youth to be assertive and strong to fight, but, the “Hindustan Times” goes to say, “Ironically, Vivekananda used to emphasise greatly on physical strength and is known for the shocking statement ‘Better to play football than read the Gita’. One of the perennial problems that Vivekananda lived with was chronic insomnia and in a letter to Shashi Bhushan Ghosh dated May 29, 1897, he confided “I never in my life could sleep as soon as I got into bed.” The previous year, Vivekananda seemed to have written to his ‘dhira mata’ (Sara Bull) from New York complaining about his lack of sleep. “My health has nearly broken down. I have not slept even one night soundly in New York since I came … I wish I could go to the bottom of the sea and have a good, long sleep.” He knew about his body and mind the strength of them. Therefore, now one need not comment that, “Ironically, Vivekananda used to emphasise greatly on physical strength and is known for the shocking statement ‘Better to play football than read the Gita’, as one has to understand the meaning. He did not say that you should not read Gita, but, play football!

Swami Vivekananda knew when he would die

Swamiji was suffering from diabetes: It is also known that Vivekananda used to suffer from diabetes like his father and at that time suitable drugs were unavailable. Shankar writes that Vivekananda had tried different modes of treatment ranging from allopathic, homoeopathic to ayurvedic and had also taken advice from all kinds of quasi-medical experts from various countries. He narrates that in the summer of 1887, Vivekananda (whose real name was Narendranath Dutta) had fallen very ill due to overstrain and lack of food. During this period, he also suffered from gallstones, and acute diarrhoea. Later, during the same summer, he came down with typhoid and problems in the urinary tract. “Narendranath’s abdominal pains were a source of great anxiety,” Shankar says. Shankar wonderfully chronicles the various medical problems Swami Vivekananda faced during his stint as a wandering monk in the country and across the world, and why he cut short his journey in Cairo, Egypt, to return to India. It was to French operatic soprano Rosa Emma Calvet that Vivekandanda had declared in Egypt that he would die on July 4, 1902. “Swami Vivekananda’s eyes filled with tears. He said he wanted to return to his country to die, to be with his gurubhais,” Shankar wrote. The fateful evening of July 4, 1902, Vivekananda passed away in Belur following a third heart attack, completing 39 years, five months and 24 days.

Narasingha Prosad Sil, Swami Vivekananda-A Reassessment, Selingrove- Susquehana University Press, USA, p.141.

The rupture of a blood vessel in his brain was reported as a possible cause of death[5]: There is no mystery surrounding the fact that Swami Vivekananda died in the year 1902. But not all of us know the real reason(s) behind his demise. Let’s explore the various theories related to Swami Vivekanda’s death as well as some unknown aspects of his life…Swami Vivekananda was born on 12 January 1863. On 4 July 1902 (the day of his death) Vivekananda awoke early, went to the chapel at Belur Math and meditated for three hours. He taught Shukla-Yajur-Veda, Sanskrit grammar and the philosophy of yoga to pupils. Later, along with several colleagues, he planned Vedic college in the Ramakrishna Math. It is stated that on the day of his sad demise, in the evening, around 7 p.m, Vivekananda went to his room, asking not to be disturbed. He died the same night at 9:10 p.m. while meditating. According to his disciples, Vivekananda attained Mahasamadhi; the rupture of a blood vessel in his brain was reported as a possible cause of death. His disciples believed that the rupture was due to his brahmarandhra (an opening in the crown of his head) being pierced when he attained Mahasamadhi[6]. Vivekananda fulfilled his prophecy that he would not live for forty years. He was cremated on a sandalwood funeral pyre on the bank of the Ganges in Belur, opposite where Ramakrishna was cremated sixteen years earlier. Swami Vivekananda, left his physical body on July 4th, 1902, when he was just 39 years old. Many people have wondered – what caused an evolved soul like Swami Vivekananda to die at such a young age? Aren’t yogi’s able to extend their own life-span and live for very long periods of time? As this was written in 2015, obviously, it was written based on “cardiac arrest ” hypothesis floated .

Narasingha Prosad Sil, Swami Vivekananda-A Reassessment, Selingrove- Susquehana University Press, USA, p.141-2

How Swamiji predicted his death!: Swami Vivekananda wrote this in a letter to Sister Nivedita in March 1900, as noted by Anshul Chaturvedi, in his blog. In my fraying, massively underlined and marked copy of Letters Of Swami Vivekananda, I’d circled the words “I know the time and place” the very first time I read and pondered over it, over a decade back, and made a small note against it: ‘of death, obviously.’ I could find no other explanation. It was, after all, just over two years after writing that letter that Vivekanda died, on July 4, 1902, preceded by detailed study of the almanac in the preceding days, the specific pointing out of the spot of his cremation three days before his demise, and instructions to brother-disciples on the future of the Ramakrishna Math on the day itself[7]. Earlier in that year, Romain Rolland has noted that Vivekananda began to decline to express his opinion on the questions of the day with the response, “I can no more enter into outside affairs; I am already on the way.” The man who had said “I shall not live to be forty years old” and moved on at 39 was clearly no stranger to his physical end and approached it with a sense of anticipation, if not familiarity[8].

Swami Vivekananda knew about his death- letter to Nivedita

Sex stories floated picked up Kundalini, yoga and so on: Our people do not want read carefully or going into facts by reading at least the “Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda”. According to his disciples, “Vivekananda attained Mahasamadhi; the rupture of a blood vessel in his brain was reported as a possible cause of death. His disciples believed that the rupture was due to his brahmarandhra (an opening in the crown of his head) being pierced when he attained Mahasamadhi”. But, the fact is Swamiji opposed the “Tantric” practices, particularly, involving Vamachara. “This form of practice must never even be mentioned in the Math. Ruin shall seize the wicked man, both here and hereafter, who would introduce vile Vamachara into His fold”- thus, Swami Vivekananda warned the members of Alambazar Math, 27 April 1896. But, now, people without any sense write, he died because he could not control sex, masturbate………………….and so on.

Narasingha Prosad Sil, Swami Vivekananda- on sex, marriage

Swamiji had been very clear about it: Hence the swami makes it clear that left-hand Tantra is absolutely forbidden for the monks of the Ramakrishna mission; indeed, they are explicitly warned not even to speak of such horrible rites, on threat of expulsion from the order[9]: “The Vamachara form of practice . . . should on no account be practised at the Math. Anyone demuring to this must step out of this Order. This form of practice must never even be mentioned in the Math. Ruin shall seize the wicked man, both here and hereafter, who would introduce vile Vamachara into His fold”. Only by purging this demoralizing parasite can India recover its virile, masculine power: “Just look to your own province and see how this Vamachara (immoral practices) of the Tantras has entered into your very marrow. Even modern Vaishnavism . . . is saturated with Vamachara! We must stem the tide of this Vamachara which is contrary to the spirit of the Vedas[10].

Kundalini-Swami Vivekananda

Swamiji pointed out how historically, the practices were degenerated: Swamiji explained, “Give up this filthy Vamachara that is killing your country…. When I  see how much the Vamachara has entered into our society, I find it a most disgraceful place with all its boast of culture. These Vamachara secrets are honeycombing our society in Bengal. . . . The Bengali Shastras are the Vamachara shastras. They are published by the cartload and you poison the minds of your children with them. . . . Fathers of Calcutta, do you not feel ashamed that such horrible stuff as these Vamachara Tantras . . . should be put into the hands of your boys and girls, and their minds poisoned, and that they should be brought up with the idea that these are the Shastras of the Hindus? If you are ashamed, take them away from your children and let them read the true Shastras, the Vedas, the Gita and the Upanishads[11]. The original spirit essentially valid Hindu scriptures that were only later corrupted by degenerate Buddhism and the obscene rites of the left-hand (Vàmàcàra) path: “I denounced only the present corrupted form of Vamachara of the Tantras. I did not denounce the Mother worship of the Tantras. . . . The purport of the Tantras is to worship women in a spirit of Divinity. During the downfall of Buddhism, the Vamachara became very much corrupted, and that corrupted form obtains to the present. . . . I denounced only these corrupt…practices”[12].

Kundalini-Swami Vivekananda warns against Vamachara

Leave Swami Vivekananda: Nowadays, it has become a fashion to pretend that all could be solved, just by talking. Some have started claiming that “Do not take medicine…..You do this, you can be free from all diseases”.  Yet another claim, “I solve all your personal, family ……problems, just by talking”, that is, just listen to what I talk, that is enough! Here, they need not resort to denigrate others for theor promotion. For “sex” control etc., Swami Vivenananda need not be dragged into. Therefore, Indians on any capacity or pretext need not misinterpret Swami Vivekananda, without reading him. One should at least read the “Complete works”, before commenting or talking about Swami Vivekananda. For one’s propagation of name, fame or business, he need not be brought to trivial issues.

The way Sathyaraj and Tarun Vijay opposed and made them render apology – The Dravidian racism, linguistic fascism and Ideological negationism work faithfully!

April 22, 2017

The way Sathyaraj and Tarun Vijay opposed and made them render apology –  The Dravidian racism, linguistic fascism and Ideological negationism work faithfully!

Ragavendra swamy exploitation by dravidians

Sathyaraj regrets, whole-heartedly regrets, apologizes or worries about business? : Has Sathyaraj really regretted, whole-heartedly regretted or apologized as the leading Indian media describes differently by various expressions? He has scripted his reply carefully after meticulous preparation. Then, he sat casually before a video and read out such prepared script for circulation as planned. Thus, nothing has come out spontaneously, emotionally and faithfully with any commitment. As media interpret there has not been any social concern, public interest or secular credentials exhibited in such scripted speech. Nine years ago, he did do like that. He poured his dirty words of hatred in all possible derogatory way in front of other leading actors like Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan etc. From their facial expressions themselves, his unexpected verbose with dirty words was understood and could be realized even today, by anyone who knows Tamil. Therefore, who is arm-twisting whom, can also be understood by the Indian public.  As the cinemawalas claim very often that their profession should be considered as “industry”, then, Indians, as consumers have every right to receive what they want and what they do not want. No political party or organization need to suggest, induce or impose any view on them, as if  they and the media alone, know everything and advise.

C N Annadurai acted as Guru of Shivaji

How commercial considerations work with the media, cine-world and political ideologists to fool fans and consumers: Evidently, the media that has close nexus with the cine-field and the associated business interests tried to play game with the dramatized episode of opposition to and regret expressed by the Periyarist, atheist and radical actor Sathyaraj. “Of course, only Sathyaraj won’t be affected by this threat”, Indian express exposed with candid. Then who would be the affected? The actor said he, “…….does not want a movie made on such a grand scale by the hard work of thousands labourers and technicians to go waste”[1]. So only cine-field workers, technicians and experts are so rare species in India and the idiot fans could go on pay hundreds and thousands to watch the movies. Is this way labour killing labour under the neo-profiteering way of exploiting senses of consumers, as they cannot face losses. Indian know what profit they got by producing pictures on Periyar, Ambedkar and others and producing other “masala” and useless films. Yet, these actors talk about Periyar, Ambedkar at one side and pit them against others, as if they have been so intelligent to decide the future of Indians. With religion, language, race, racism, racialism, linguistic fanaticism and associated degrading factors, they have and have been only dividing Indian society by all means. Incidentally, the day Sathyaraj expressed his regrets, Tarun Vijay faced opposition from the fringe elements of Pondicherry University, in spite of apology rendered!

Tarun Vijay visit to PU opposed 21-04-2017

ASU and SFI members raise slogans against Tarun Vijay for his remarks on south Indians at Pondicherry University; police evict the protesters[2]: Interestingly, when the Dravidian hardcore radical Sathyaraj was regretting his abuse against the Kannadigas, who also happened to be “Dravidians” according his ideology, Tarun Vijay was opposed at Pondicherry University, as he called the South Indians were dark. Tension prevailed in Pondicherry University after students belonging to various unions raised slogans and vehemently registered their protest against the visit of Tarun Vijay, former BJP MP, to deliver a talk organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarti Parishad (ABVP) in the School of Management on the campus. Tarun Vijay arrived at the auditorium and when the function was about to begin, students belonging to Ambedkar Students Union (ASU) and the Students Federation of India (SFI) raised slogans against him for his alleged racist remarks against south Indians recently. A posse of police personnel forcibly removed the protesting students from the auditorium and closed the doors. Tarun Vijay, escorted by the police through another entrance, delivered his talk. Meanwhile, a large number of students from various departments gathered outside the School of Management raising slogans against the university authorities and the police alleging high handedness. At one stage, a section of students took out a procession to the administrative building and laid siege to the office of the Vice-Chancellor (officiating) Anisa Basheer Khan. Ms. Khan held talks with a section of student representatives following which the protest was withdrawn[3].  As puducherry, Union Territory has been within Tamilnadu, the issue went unnoticed, though, the issue is inter-related.

C N Annaduai, Karu, MGR, EVR all acting

Why the Dravidians could not live together or getting long unitely, ever since they identified by themselves as “Dravidians”?: If all the south Indians are dark or black, how Sathyaraj could look fair enough to act in movies, that too with fair heroines attracting fans!  No producer, director or hero introduced any heroine from Africa, as they are also Dravidians. He talks racism and all in the name of Periyarism etc., how then his skin colour has been fair? Similarly, the people of other states, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhrapradesh do not take the hypothesis of Caldwell or the Dravidian parties that they are also Dravidians like that of people of Tamilnadu. During the times of Justice Party itself, the non-Tamil people started moving away from the Tamils because of their linguistic fanaticism and racial parochialism. When EVR started dominating the party affairs, many disassociated and left the party, because of his authoritarian attitude, intolerant posture and adamant standpoint. Then, the Dravidar Kazhgm was started, but had to work within Tamilnadu with the fringe and radical elements.  Again, within that party also, all was not going on well and therefore, Anna broke away from Periyar and started DMK.  MGR could not be with Karunanidhi because of his corruption. Thus, AIADMK was started by him. Now, both the parties DMK and AIADMK have been in doldrums. This has been the exclusive, separatist and intolerant attitude of the Dravidian politicians and their ideology. Calling themselves “Dravidians” of the same race, why they could not get long within themselves or adjusting with each other is not known.

Ragavendra swamy exploitation by dravidians-mutt attacked at Erode

Can Dravidian actors go on abuse others and get away with their rhetoric?: Even today (after this incidence), for earning money, the Tamil actors have been ready to act in Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada language movies. Calling themselves as “Pacca Tamilians”, they act in Hindi movies also delivering Hindi dialogue. We have to note how others follow their ideology strictly in this regard. Already, there has been an exception, Raghava Lawrence has been portraying themselves as a staunch devotee of “Raghavendra”, who belongs to Karnataka, as asserted by Sathyaraj. Of course, these actors have been very poor in history and hence they get away with what they talk in Tamil to appease the crowd and get claps. Ironically, Sri Raghavendra was born and brought up in Tamilnadu and lived in Kumbakonam as Peetathipati. Yet, as the Dravidian protagonists have not been interested in history, but mythistory like “Aryans”, “Dravidians” etc., they always talk the same stuff to rouse passion and now also Sathyaraj asserts that he supports for Sri Lanka cause and die as Tamilian! As pointed out above, as these actors and politicians have been earning crores of money from the poor and middle-class people / Indians of South India, the people have to question their duplicity, expose their double standards and even boycott their films, if they continue to spread lies in this way based on myth, mythistory, race, racism, racialism, linguistic fanaticism and so on.

Tarun Vijay has been caught into the Dravidian cobweb without understanding the the Dravidian ideology, philosophy and polity!

Tarun Vijay has been caught into the Dravidian cobweb without understanding the the Dravidian ideology, philosophy and polity!

Tarun tweets to apologize on black people-4

“We have black people around us,” said Tarun Vijay[1]: Day after the Centre denied charges of racism in the assault on a group of Nigerians in Greater Noida, the BJP was left red-faced by its leader Tarun Vijay’s remark during a discussion on Al Jazeera that Indians cannot be called racists as they live with “black people” from the southern states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh[2]. “If we were racist, why would we have the entire south, which is complete, you know, Tamil, you know Kerala, you know Karnataka and Andhra, why do we live with them? We have black people around us,” said Vijay[3]. He has been totally wrong in dubbing the South Indian people have been black and as if the north Indian people white. In other words, he has accepted the dubbing of Dravidian ideologists that thw “Aryans invaded India suppressing the black Dravidians”! The remarks sparked a furore, embarrassing the former MP’s party colleagues and leadership[4]. Some opined that whatever, the good work, he has done through the installation of Tiruvalluvar, has undone through such meaningless remarks. More so, because BJP chief Amit Shah had called on 06-04-2017 [Thursday] for expanding the party’s roots and strengthening the organisation in southern states.

Tarun tweets to apologize on black people

The African envoys accused India of “racism”: India reacted sharply as a group of 44 African envoys described the attacks as “xenophobic and racial” and accused the government of taking no “known, sufficient and visible” deterrent action. In parliament Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj said that the attacks were “criminal acts” and cannot be called racial. “Before the inquiry is completed, please don’t say it is driven by racial discrimination,” she said, while speaking in the Lok Sabha, where some opposition leaders demanded to know the government’s response to allegations of “racial attacks” on Africans in Greater Noida. In India, the attacks on the Africans have been mainly due to drug trafficking, financial frauds and sexual harassment incidences. In medieval period and even today, they have been engaged in piracy also demanding ransom. The Indians, (in general, though, do not bother about the movement of the foreigners), have been cautious about the Nigerians only for these reasons. However, they continue to get involved in such activities. Thus, Tarun has failed to point out the facts to the foreign media, instead indulged in talking about “not-known” subject to him. While the attacks on Indians have been racist in US, UK, Australia and other countries, in India, the attacks are not racial, but, retaliatory nature, because of the explicit reasons.

Tarun tweets to apologize on black people-2

“The Hindu” has been so happy in interpreting “racist” twist, with Marxist attack on BJP[5]: BJP leader and former Rajya Sabha member Tarun Vijay’s statement to a television channel that Indians could not be racists as they lived with “black” South Indians, sparked off a storm on the social media on Friday [07-04-2017], with Mr. Vijay coming in for severe criticism. Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Brinda Karat told The Hindu: “Mr. Tarun Vijay’s comment reflects the core Hindutva ideology of Aryan superiority. What was in my mind came out today. He has apologised for his words, but his thoughts will remain what they are.” The Communist / Marxist “The Hindu” added glefully that, “Mr. Vijay is a former editor of RSS-related publication Panchjanya. While refusing to come on record, a BJP leader said that Mr. Vijay had himself retracted his statement and it was time to move on”, as if it is “secular, unbiased and balanced”. This has been the way, the Indian media has been working catering to the needs of Indians.

Through twitter, he apologized and corrected himself: Vijay was not available for comment but apologised for his remarks, while attempting to explain them, in a series of tweets[6]. In one tweet, he acknowledged that his remarks sounded “ridiculous and very bad”[7]. “In many parts of the nation we have different people, in colour and never ever we had any discrimination against them,” he posted[8]. “My words perhaps were not enough to convey this. Feel bad, really feel sorry, my apologies to those who feel I said different than what I meant,” he wrote[9]. He even said[10], “I said we worship Krishna, which literally em, ans black, we were the first to oppose any racism and were in fact victims of racist British” and “In may parts of the nation we have different people, in colour and never ever we had any discrimination against them”. But, it was too late, as what he said was broadcast already[11]. However, it is evident that he has not understood the history of South India, particularly, that of Tamlnadu and its implications. Or the advisiors from Tamilnadu has been misguiding him through their wonderful ideas. Even in the case of Tiruvalluvar and connected issues, they had misled him for the consequences, that I explained in my Tamil blogs.

Tarun tweets to apologize on black people-3

The BJP leaders have been ignorant of the Dravidian ideology, philosophy and polity: However, at least three senior BJP leaders and an MP told The Indian Express that the comments from the former editor of RSS mouthpiece Panchajanya were “extremely embarrassing” and could damage the party’s image in the south. “It’s really bad for us that this has come the day after our party chief wanted leaders to strengthen the party in the southern states. In spite of all the explanations and the apologies, such statements will damage the party’s image and adversely affect its efforts to come up as a party for all,” said one leader.  The BJP cannot handle issues of South India or Tamilnadu in this way, without understanding the facts. The present leadership of Tamilnadu has not been any match to the Dravidian political and ideological leaders, as most of them have been ignorant of the Dravidian ideology, philosophy and polity since 1920s to 1970s.

The Kerala BJP leadrrs have been uncomfotable with his comments: In Kerala, where the BJP is in the race for the Lok Sabha by-election in Malappuram, a leader pointed out that Vijay’s comments have become a “hot topic” for the media. Kerala BJP chief Kummanam Rajasekharan and former state chief V Muraleedharan said the matter should be “closed” as Vijay had apologised. But Rajasekharan said, “If there has to be an explanation, the party leadership should be asking for it.” A BJP leader from the state said Vijay’s remark would “overshadow” the party’s attempts to highlight the “Communist violence against the BJP and the RSS” at the national level. “These leaders should be cautious in making remarks in public. With social media and visual media being so alive now, one has to be cautious,” said the leader.

The Tamilnadu BJP leaders should be trained in the Dravidian ideology, philosophy and polity: When contacted by The Indian Express, BJP general secretary P Muralidhar Rao said, “He has realised that what he said was wrong and against the BJP’s ideology. He has apologised for it, why should we pursue it now?” Rao said that Vijay would not have meant what he said. “This man has been working with cultural organisations in Tamil Nadu. He has carved out a space for himself in the cultural field there,” said Rao. In one of his tweets, Vijay wrote: “I have Tamil, Bengali, Telugu in my family — worked with commitment for Tamil culture, without any politics, collectively with all.” In another tweet, he wrote: “I can die but how can I ridicule my own culture, my own people and my own nation? Think before you misinterpret my badly framed sentence.” That was followed by this line: “And, I never, never, even in a slip, termed south India as black. Have patience to watch the show before reacting angrily.” In the programme, Vijay was defending India against charges of racism following the attacks on the African students.

On 23rd morning itself, about 200 delegates were there in the premises of Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Manasagangotri and they were accommodated in the hostels of Narmada, Krishna, Ganga etc. As more and more delegates started coming, they were accommodated in Terapanta Bhawan. VIP-delegates were accommodated in the University Guest House. The delegate fee of Rs. 750/- was charged and 870 were registered delegates as on 25-12-2015. The press was also briefed about it earlier[3].

ABISY – Centenary Celebration Committee of University of Mysore

Centenary Celebration Committee of University of Mysore[4]: For this, K.S Rangappa VC had appointed a centenary celebration committee. The committee consists of MPs, the former Prime Minister H.D Deve Gowda, former vice chancellors, litterateurs and other distinguished scientists[5]. After rigorous discussion the committee has come up with some projects with members of all shades of political and economic interests[6]. About the request of Rs.100 crores for the celebration and allocation of Rs.50 crires, “The Hindu” reported characteristically[7]. Even as the University of Mysore was getting ready to host its centenary celebration, the government, in a goodwill gesture, announced a grant of Rs. 50 crore for the historic fete which began on July 27, 2015, the day the university was established in 1916. The university had sought Rs. 100 crore from the government for the centenary fete. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, however, doled out Rs. 50 crore in the State Budget presented by him[8]. Expressing gratitude towards the government’s gesture, VC K.S. Rangappa said, “I thank the government for its benevolence. Actually, we had sought Rs. 100 crore from it for realising certain projects. But we are happy with the allocation.” A website was created and brochure issued[9]. Thus, among the other projects and programmes, the hosting of the Conference was included in the agenda by the Committee.

Inagural session (24-12-2015): The inaguration was held at the “Senate Hall” and there was secuirity checking, as two State Governors Karnataka HE Vajubhai Vala and Goa HE Mridula Sihna were participating. The delegates were taken to the venue from the Hostels by buses and the hall was full within half-an-hour. Sri Suresh Joshi Bhayyaji, Sarkaryavah, RSS was the guest speaker. Prof K. S. Rangappa, VC, University of Mysuru was the Chief Gust of Honour. They were waiting for the arrival of the Governors. On the stage nothing was there and the backdrop was just started putting up. The chairs were brought one by one and arranged on the stage. Three framed pictures were brought and placed on the chairs, but, they were not fittimg into, so two were removed and only one – that of Bharat Mata was accommodated in a chair. As mentioned, the programme was not started by 9.15, but by 10.15 am in a different way. The Zonal incharges of Bharatiya Itihasa Sankalana Samiti (hereinafter mentioned as BISS) were called.

ABISY - Senate hall entrance - Inagural function - secuirity check

Historians honoured by the organizedrs: 10.24 am: The programme was started. Each zonal incharge was asked to announce the historian selected. Thus, the following announced their respective historian as mentioned against each:

  1. Kataraia, Udaipur…………by……….
  2. Sher Singh announced………….
  3. Dilip Kumar Bhukkan announced for Assam by…………
  4. Anand Sharma (Uttaranchal)…………
  5. Rahman Ali, Ujjain was selected by………….
  6. Seernivasa Rao announced Prof A. Sundara.
  7. Anuradha (Telingana) announced Y. Sudhrshana Rao[10].

It was surprising that for the States, Seemanthra, Tamilnadu and Kerala, no historian of worth could be recognized and announced by them for honouring. It is clear that either the orgnizers or the Zonal incharge could have been so ignorant about their respective regions / States to select and nominate the historians or they did not want take such decision judiciously considering the facts. Ironically, the BISS, Tamilnadu shows many popular historians in their organization – Dr K. V. Raman, Dr R. Nagaswamy, Dr Rama Bai, Prof Dr K. M. Rao, Dr S. Kalyanaraman and others, yet the Zonal incharge could not think of anybody snd nominate nobody! Of course, there have been many-more in those states. When all were happening, many came (some important persons, scholars and elderly people) and returned, as none could recognize them or made them to seat! For instance, Tumkur University VC came and kept waiting and standing, for some time and he was not cared by anybody. Perhaps, the hall received more members to be acommodated than available seating arrangement!

Dr S Kalyana Raman lecture at IGNCA Bangalore Dec.23, 2001

Dr S Kalyana Raman lecture at IGNCA Bangalore Dec.23, 2001 – generally, he used to present on “Saraswati” related topics.

A presentation on “Sarasawati River Civilization”: 10.36 am: Inagural song was sung.

10.40 am: Welcoming the delegates, the person concluded with “Jai Hind, Jai Karnataka”!

11.01 am: Prashant Bharadwaj, Haryana Water Board, started explaining about the “Sarasawati River Civilization” with some slides, which were not at all attractive. Moreover, he was explaing in Hindi and thus evidently noot understood by the delegates coming from different states other than the Hindi speaking ones. It has to be mentioned that earlier Dr S. Kalyanaraman used to give presentation on “Sarasawati River Civilization” with many slides and lot of information, as he has been working on the subject and written many books[11].  He has published many books on the Sindhu-Saraswati civilization. Now, why he was not there was intriguing, as obviously, his absence was reveleaed through some slides used as noted.  However, it was learnt later that he had sent a PPT with many slides for presentation, but ignored by the organizers. About the differing views on “Saraswati” river, a comprehensive note can be seen here[12].

11.20 to 11.35 am: On RHS of the auditorioum, thee was commotion, as the seats meant for the press people were occupied by the delegates. So when chairs were put before the front road, the police objected to it on secuirity reasons.  The shouting stopped and they were made to settle down.

11.35 am: There were patriotic songs sung by different people. All these attempts were evidently meant for adjusting the delay caused for the arrival of the Governors.

[10] It is intriguing to note that he resingned last month as the salary he demanded was not paid. While members of the ICHR contacted by The Hindu said they didn’t know any details about Prof Rao’s step, some confirmed that the Council had recommended an honorarium of Rs. 1.5-lakh per month for Prof. Rao to the government, but no decision had been taken on this yet. Significantly, the ICHR head’s position is an honorary one, for which no salary is paid.

Hate speech, Indian media and secular parties!

March 31, 2014

Hate speech, Indian media and secular parties!

Vedaprakash

The applicability of expression “hate-speech” to India: Now “hate-speech” is discussed a lot in the media. The applicability of such expression to Indian context has to be considered in a careful way, as the Indians have got independence only just 66 years ago, in spite of the history going beyond 5000 years. In other words, the Indians were ruled by the Colonial forces and the Mohammedan powers that treated Indians subdued in many aspects. Both powers disparaged, denigrated and maligned them in many ways through their appreciation and depreciation. The conditions set out for “hate speech” in the present context were already found in their attitude, behavior and actions against them. Just like “gay rights” etc., when new issues are brought in, Indians have to deal them cautiously.

Indians derided by the rulers of the past 1300 years: Even after the freedom, as the legacy of the past rulers has been continued with the enforced factors, and after the LPG regime again the neocolonial forces dominate and control the thought processes of Indians with new parameters of modernization, westernization, industrialization and now Americanization. The slangs of different influential foreign masters exhibited in various spheres. Thus, the media has such characteristic mores. Above all, the Indians have been under the constant attack of both these forces and the ideologically opposed communists also. Though, the Communists of all sorts are opposed by many political parties, ideologically, they have been dominating in the Indian media, curriculum and polity.

“Hate-speech”, now invented and its understanding: “Hate speech is generally understood as, that speech is[1]  “ … usually thought to include communications of animosity or disparagement of an individual or a group on account of a group characteristic such as race, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, or sexual orientation” and it is carried to be quoted by others[2] as authority[3]. The westernized or non-Indian way of expressing journalists have started using this expression without going into the details. Now, we find all Indian English media uses such expression, as if the Indian speakers, particularly, politicians have been violating all provisions of Acts and rules but scot-free.

From Indian English media to Indian polity: Incidentally, the same Indian English media has introduced many words and expressions of hate speech – lumpen elements[4], bandwagon, goons[5], thugs, fringe, medieval forces, secular, communal, fascist, middle class, fundamentalist, saffron terror[6], rightwing terror[7], and so on. They have been used as adjectives with one or each other with other or words taken from this list. Thus, we can see –

  • Fascist communal forces
  • middle class mentality
  • communal forces
  • communal goons
  • rightwing thugs
  • medieval bandwagon
  • lumpen fringe elements
  • saffron terror elements
  • rightwing terrorists

and such other combinations have been so popular in usage. Specifically, these expressions have been mostly used against BJP, RSS and other so-called Sangh Parivar organizations by the media experts and standardized such usage, as if they are applicable to them only. Even their counterparts say leftwing, Green terror, real medieval forces, fascist fringe bandwagons and others have never been branded.

Secular and communal “hate-speeches”: As the media and the non-BJP parties including the Muslim, Islamic and other categories always call the BJP and Sangh Parivar as communal. Emboldened by such persistent, relentless and pushy propaganda, they started using other attacking expressions. BJP is anti-minority, anti-Muslim, anti-Islamic etc, whereas all other non-BJP parties are pro-minority, pro-Muslim and Islam supporting categories. The government media, functions, iftar parties are also used to carry on such propaganda. Thus, this has created some sort of inferiority complex in the minds of Sangh Parivar, their leaders, members and sympathizers and Hindus as a whole of India.

Sonia started “hate-speech” in electioneering: The “hate-speech” campaign started with Sonia during 2007 elections, when she called Modi “Maut ka sauthagar”. Generally, she reads prepared speech by somebody, that means, she consciously accepted and used such expression to target Modi. Here the role of scrpt writer is also questioned[8]. On 28 January 2014 Aam Aadmi party leader Arvind Kejriwal tweeted scathing comment over Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi calling them moron and murderer. He tweeted, “Stuck between a moron and a murderer…what now India”. Sonia has called BJP communal many times, Modi “Maut ka sauthagar” (messager of Death) etc., followed by the rhetoric of Digvijaya and Kapil Sibal many times in their interviews.  Sonia before Gujarat assembly elections referred Narendra Modi to “Maut Ka Saudagar” (person who sells death) and on 1st Feb 2014 accusing BJP to spread hate among people she said, “I firmly believe you will not allow those who sow the seeds of poison (Zaher Ki Kheti) to succeed. They sport Muslim skull cap, move with maulanas, yet they claim themselves 100% hallmark of secular category. However, when Modi started speaking in Hindi in a colloquial way addressing the common man with sarcasm, his words are watched, recorded and interpreted as “hate speech”. Nahid Hasan the SP candidate from Uttar Pradesh’s Kairana constituency hinted at Mayawati’s proximity to Modi. “Thrice Mayawati has sat in Modi’s lap and after elections she will do so again. Both are unmarried,” he added[9]. For Musaffarnagar riots all parties have been blamed by the media[10], but the Supreme Court[11] the ruling party SP for not preventing and controlling the riots[12].

For convenience, the famous ones are listed as follows[13]:

  1. Zeher Ki Kheti– This comment made by Sonia Gandhi is the latest in the line (and perhaps one of most pinching ones). Speaking at a public rally in northern Kanataka, the UPA chairperson accused Narendra Modi of indulging in “Zeher Ki Kheti” (Sowing seeds of poison).

  1. Maut Ka Saudagar-Sonia‘s remark, wherein she referred to Modi as “Maut Ka Saudagar” (merchant of death) in the Gujarat assembly elections in 2007.

  1. Modi’s “Khooni Panja” and “Zaalim Hath” Attack-Modi has never been the kind of person who would meekly listen to outrageous comments from opposition and remain quite. He has perhaps been even more famous for his reference to the Congress party’s ‘palm’ symbol as “Khooni Panja” (Bloody Claws) and “Zaalim Hath” (Cruel Hand).

  1. Modi’s “Shazada” and “Madam” Barb– Modi is also known for referring to Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi as “Shazada” (prince) and “Madam” respectively.

  1.  Somnath Bharti’s “Want to Spit on Faces” Attack-he expressed his desire to “spit on the faces” of Arun jaitley and Harish Salve.

  1. Kejriwal Retweets “Stuck Between Moron and Murderer”- “Stuck between a moron and a murderer… what now, India!?”

  1. Manhonah Singh’s “Presiding over Massacre” Statement  – He referred to BJP’s PM Candidate Modi as someone who “presided over massacre of citizens” during the Gujurat riots of 2002.

  1. Rahul Gandhi’s “Comb to a Bald Man” Quip– Rahul has not been too far away in the rank of people making most controversial remarks as well. But this one was really quite funny.

Why against BJP or “Hindus”?: The expressions Communal BJP and secular Congress have been so popularized that even the BJPwalas are quite amused to be called so. And the non-BJP parties have always taken such privilege of calling BJP communal and thus they always pose as secular. Of course, the persistent media also always brand the parties and certified. Only few like Advani have understood the mischief and countered them by using expression “pseudo-secularism”. The provisions of IPC and Peoples Representation Act could penalize the “hate-sppech”, but many times the speakers have scot-free for example, Arunthathi Roy, Jilani in the north and the DK and atheist elements of the South, though dozens of cases filed have been pending against them. Incidentally, it has to be noted that these speakers have targeted “Hindus” only.

[8] Lyricist and script writer Javed Akhtar has won many laurels for his dialogue writing skills, but this is one instance, he says, where he can’t take the credit. The political grapevine attributes the maut ka saudagar reference Sonia Gandhi made during her Gujarat poll campaign to him. “I am truly embarrassed for being given credit for somebody else’s work,” says Akhtar. Ever since Sonia Gandhi used the term during one of her election speeches in Gujarat, there has been speculation in political circles about who actually coined the term. Several names have been doing the rounds, the most prominent being Akhtar.
