Gloucestersgire - local paper reportingWard arrest 06-09-2017

Delhi cops doubt British pedophile can be a part of an international racket dealing in child porn[1]: Delhi police investigating the sexual assault against a British national, has found that accused Murray Denis Ward (54) had also targeted other kids outside the blind school. During investigation, cops have found that he uploaded some videos on internet and also got few such videos from other internet users. Cops are alsodoubting that the pedophile foreigner can be a part of some international gang involved in child porn. Sleuths are also doubting that Ward targeted kids in Burma where he resided for two years due to official work[2]. His chat shows that he not only was in touch with kids from the blind school but also in touch with other kids of different area. He used to initiate conversation by asking whether they have any close friends and their views about sex,” a police official investigating the case told The New Indian Express. “As we have found various clips and conversation with other internet users, exchange of videos and photos on WhatsApp, we are also probing whether he was a part of some international racket or not who deals in child porn on the internet,” official added. Cops are claiming that his phone has photos and video since November 2016 after he returned from Burma. He had gone to Burma for two years on some project from office. While Indian Express has been giving these extra details, others have been repetitive of what the PTI have brought out.

Murray Dennis Ward - modus operandi-Sept.2017

Why Chastity consciousness is not there in the pedophile issue?: None has noted that any TV channel has ever discussed the pedophile crime during their debates. The vernacular TV channels may not know the issue at all or knowing suppressing the facts. As usual, the media, human rights activities, child rights saviors, the opinion making and decision taking elites and authorities, and whole range of protesters, activists and others have been silent on this issue as usual. While Gauri and Anita have been sensational in Bangalore and Chennai, none bothered to recognize them among the unfortunate defiled and raped 34. Of late, the mob psychology of the protesters has been intriguing and strange, as they become excitingly proactive, highly charged and exceedingly emotional for some issues, whereas, they virtually ignore other very important, burning and more affecting issues, problems and malices. Ironically, pedophile has been neglected and ignored by most of all.

Murray Dennis Ward, how he gained confidence-Sept.2017

Delhi High Court directs AAP Government to ensure safety of visually impaired minors (08-09-2017)[3]: The Delhi High Court today asked the AAP government to ensure safety of children, some of whom were allegedly sexually assaulted by a British national at the National Association for the Blind (NAB) here. A bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar also issued notice to the Delhi government and the police station concerned and sought status report on the issue by September 12, 2017. The bench asked the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) member secretary to immediately look into the matter and place a report before the court regarding disbursement of compensation to victims of the offence[4]. DLSA Secretary, if required, shall call for inspection of the school and interact with the children, it added. The bench further directed that the concerned authorities shall “ensure that every step is taken for welfare, security and safety of children”. The court’s direction came on a social worker Prashant Kumar’s PIL highlighting the absence of due care and framework during appointment of personnel and volunteers at the special home for visually-impaired minor inmates in south Delhi.

Murray Dennis Ward - modus operandi-Sept.2017-2

PIL sought a multi- disciplinary SIT probe into the affair: Advocate Ajay Verma, appearing for Mr Kumar, alleged that if there would have been a proper mechanism, the incident of sexual offence that has occurred recently at NAB, could have been prevented. 54-year-old Murray Dennis Ward was arrested and remanded to judicial custody in a case of alleged sexual assault on three visually-impaired minor inmates of the special home. The police has told the trial court that Ward had been associated with the NAB as a regular donor for almost nine years and was a frequent visitor to the institute. He was arrested for allegedly inappropriately touching three NAB inmates on September 2, police has said. Ward, a native of Gloucestershire in the United Kingdom, had been working with Sterlite Technology Limited in Gurugram till April. Seeking to prevent such incidents in future, the plea has sought court-monitored investigation by constituting a multi- disciplinary SIT to actively monitor the probe in this case. It said that there should be time bound investigation to ensure impartiality. The plea filed by advocate Katyayini also sought protection for witness in the case and said the court should issue direction to formulate regulation for volunteers and donors who visit the special schools.

Pedophile issue has to be discussed

How the pedophiles should be handled?: One out of every two children in India is sexually abused, most never report it, 52% of the cases are boys, implying 48% are girls. In other words, pedophiles have been raping teenage girls also. Rape of teenage girls up to 18 cannot be ignored by dubbing as “child abuse”. Psychologists dubbing such practices as “grooming” in Indian context try to cover all domestic, educational, social and religious interactions[5]. Present-day writers and columnists in trying to justify that such pedophile tendencies have been existing in Indian society, try to draw such parallels and vulgarize normal relationships to fit into some hypotheses and theories[6]. All such actions could not be brought under generalized psychological grouping behaviour.

Odephus complex-2

If all such behaviour of parents are restricted to “Oedipus complex”, then, none is spared. Oedipus complex in psychoanalytic theory, is an assumed desire for sexual involvement with the parent of the opposite sex and a concomitant sense of rivalry with the parent of the same sex; a crucial stage in the normal developmental process. When Sigmund Freud introduced the concept in his Interpretation of Dreams (1899), it has become famous in western societies. If such hypotheses and theories haunt all sons and daughters, then, all parents would be sexploiters. Therefore, the psychologists and socilogists should come to reality to analyse as to why the foreign pedophiles mostly prowl upon Indian teens, why and orphanages supply victims knowingly, how the predators and perptrators work together and such other related issues should be taken into account. Now, in the western context, pedophilia is considered as “disease” as cold and fever, implying, pedophiles can rape gteenage girls and get away with that declaring that the rapists are patients with disease. Or after be ing caught, he can get admitted in hospital for treatment. Therefore, such interpretation should not be allowed in Indian context and the sex criminals should be properly booked, adjudicated and punished.

Another foreign pedophile teacher has prowled upon Indian children on the eve of “Teachers’s Day”- this time targets have been the blind! (1)

Murray Dennis Ward, pedophile--arrested- -Sept.2017

On the eve of Teachers’ Day, a teacher was arrested for pedophile crime: In India, September 5th is celebrated as “Teachers’ Day” in honour of Sarvapalle Radhakrishnana, who had been a great philosopher, teacher and Vice-President of Independent India. However, ironically, paradoxically and sadly, news was coming out that a English teacher who was teaching English and technical skill to the blind and visually impaired children of 14-17 years old have been sexually abused by him. A 54-year-old British man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting three children at a home run by the National Association for the Blind, a non-profit organisation in the Capital[1]. Ironically, the NAB also uses the motto “Tamaso ma Jyotir gamaya”! Of course, it is argued that just because one culprit, criminal or perpetrator, the entire organization should not be blamed. But, as the trend of pedophiles in India, particularly that of the foreign ones, including notorious ones exploiting Indian poverty, easy-catching of children and sexploitation, the organization can not turn blind eye to such wrongdoings. They should have kept eyes on such persons, particularly, their inmates have been easily targetable category.

Murray Dennis Ward, pedophile - NAB, New Delhi-arrested- -Sept.2017

The police arrested the pedophile, but the media considers him as “Suspect”: Again another irony that he has been a British and his activities have been in and around Delhi that had been the Capital of British India! The suspected pedophile (that is how the media preferred to mention about his status), Murray Dennis Ward, of Gloucestershire was taken into custody on 03-09-2017 (Sunday) in his rented lodging in Vasant Kunj Enclave after an employee of the children’s home caught him “red-handed” abusing the blind boys in a dormitory the previous evening, police said[2]. “He recorded a video of the act on his mobile phone before alerting the management,” said RP Upadhyay, the police joint commissioner of south-eastern range, on 04-09-2017 (Monday)[3]. Ward denied the charge, but the video clip goes against him[4]. Besides, objectionable material has been found on the suspect’s laptop, Macbook according to Chinmoy Biswal, the additional deputy joint commissioner of police (south)[5]. “Initial investigation reveals he is a paedophile,” the officer said. His cellphone was also verified for incriminating details[6].

Murray Dennis Ward, pedophile - NAB, office, New Delhi -Sept.2017

Murray Dennis Ward was getting salary of more than 1000 Indians per month, I,e, Rs 12,50,000/-: Ward was working in a senior position with a multinational company / senior manager in a telecom company based in Gurgaon until last April, 2017, drawing an annual salary of Rs 1.5 crore, i.e, Rs 12,50,000/- per month!. Really, a normal Indian would be bewildered about this salary, as even a BE / B.Tech is getting Rs 8,000 to 12,000/- in the telecom and other companies in India! That means, he getting the salary of more than 1000 persons of India! Yet, he had decided to molest, and rape Indian teenage children. He is currently under treatment after suffering a paralytic attack in February 2017[7]. In an earlier case, the Vellore orphanages were supplying children of age 15-17 to the foreign nationals, who had been working in factories situated in and around Sriperumpudur. As the orphanages were of Christian missionaries and the involved were the foreigners, who have business and technical interests with the factories, the issue was hushed up.  The Briton was a frequent visitor at the NGO for the blind in south Delhi’s RK Puram for the past eight years (since 2000), and has donated handsomely for the children’s education and hostel[8]. As he is getting such huge salary, it is not at all surprising. However, his intention turned to be otherwise.

Murray Dennis Ward, pedophile -arrested- -Sept.2017

Murray Dennis Ward, has been multi-talented personality: Prashant Ranjan Verma, general secretary of the association said, “He taught English and communication skills voluntarily to the children……We never received a complaint against him before.” But when he was interacting with children in a room around 6pm on 02-09-2017 (Saturday), an employee noticed him doing objectionable acts with the kids”, Verma said. “The employee separated Ward from the children before alerting us … When senior officials met the children and enquired on Sunday afternoon, three children confirmed the allegations.” Therefore, it is intriguing as to note as to how, since 2000, none of the National Association for Blind could not notice the pedophile activitoes of Ward. In other words, that shows the internal involvement of ASB with him. However, the Police were alerted thereafter. Verma said visitors are never allowed to meet children in closed rooms. But, according to a senior investigator, Ward had access to the hostel and classes because of his long association with the organisation. The British man was charged with legal provisions in the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), and sent to police custody for two days.

Murray Dennis Ward, pedophile - NAB, New Delhi -Sept.2017

Police investigation proves his involvement in sexploitation: A police officer claimed that many of the chats had “sexual overtones”. “Our teams will go to their homes and meet them and their families. The chats suggest that Ward would try to initiate conversations with sexual overtones,” claimed a senior police officer[9]. A senior officer told The Indian Express that over chats on WhatsApp, he would ask the person he was talking to his or her age.  “Some of these numbers are saved with names while others don’t identify the person,” said the officer. Soon after arresting Ward, police had seized his mobile phone and laptop. “Ward has not revealed the password of his laptop. His phone was not password protected and we could get into it,” said a police officer. Police are now seeking help from IT professionals to look into his computer. On Monday, Ward was arrested from his residence in south Delhi’s Vasant Kunj Enclave, where he was staying for the past seven months. His wife and two children, however, live in England. A security guard at the three-storey residential complex where Ward lived told The Indian Express, “He used to be busy on his mobile phone. He used to live alone but a person, who he said was his adopted son, came to his house on a daily basis.” Ward’s neighbours refused to talk to the media. Police said Ward had employed a youth, who he called his adopted son, for assistance after he suffered a paralytic attack in February this year. Sources said the youth has also been questioned by investigators[10].

Online sexual grooming, luring girls with modus operandi, cyber sexual crimes: Should be taken serious and monitored!

May 18, 2017

Online sexual grooming, luring girls with modus operandi, cyber sexual crimes: Should be taken serious and monitored!

Internet grooming

Ibrahim posing as “Siva” developed Fracebook friendship with a 13-year school girl: Accepting what seemed like an innocuous Facebook friend request ended up in a nightmare for a a 13-year-old girl from Tirupur, as the friendly stranger turned out to be a sexual predator, facebook friend for just few months, who ensnared the young teen and raped her. A 22-year-old man and a lodge manager were arrested on 01-05-2017 Monday on charges of raping a 13-year-old 8th standard schoolgirl. The man, who befriended the girl from Tirupur on Facebook, took her to Puducherry, raped her and abandoned her in a lodge. Later, the lodge manager also raped her. The arrested persons were identified as S Ibrahim, 22, of Pichampalayampudur in Tirupur and E Prabhakaran, 29, of Puducherry[1]. Police said Ibrahim was working in a textile unit in Tirupur and Prabhakaran had taken a lodge on lease more than six months ago[2].

Internet sexual grooming

The girl eloped with Ibrahim as he talked so sweetly: Lured by the 21-year-old youth’s sweet-talk, the teenager ran away with him to Chennai and then to Puducherry, where she was sexually abused for two days[3]. It is ridiculous that that the 13-year girl could be so bold enough to elope with a stranger from Tirupr to Chennai to Puducherry and accepted to stay in lodge. The girl’s harrowing tale came to light on April 29, 2017 when she reached Tirupur two days after she went missing and narrated her ordeal to her parents[4]. On April 27, the girl’s parents lodged a complaint with the Tirupur North police claiming their 13-year-old daughter had gone missing. But, what the parents were doing about her activities with phone, facebook friendship, strange behaviour and other activities. They must have watched her. Even as the sleuths were trying to trace her whereabouts, she returned on her own two days later. What the girl had to tell about the two days away from home swung the city police into action, leading to the arrest of a 21-year-old youth from Chennai and a 27-year-old man from Puducherry. Police said the girl became friends with Siva (21) on Facebook recently. Over time, Siva talked her into eloping with him and on April 27, he reached Tirupur. The girl gave her family members the slip and eloped with Siva to Chennai. After a brief stay there, Siva took her to a lodge in neighbouring Puducherry, where he allegedly raped her for two days. Ironically, though TOI mentions his name as Ibrahim, Indian Express does not, perhaps on the principles of “Secular journalism”!

Internet sexual grooming- love jihad too.jpg

The lover sold her gold chain and vanished: Later, Siva sold her gold chain weighing one sovereign, gave her the return fare to Tirupur and vanished. Really, it is interesting and intriguing to note as to how the girl could giv her chain also to the crook after all these happenings. Ibrahm should be interrogated thoroughly and his modus operandi should be ex;posed, so that the girls could be safe. Finding the girl all alone, lodge owner Prabakaran (27) befriended the girl under the guise of helping her reach Tirupur. After realising what had happened, Prabakaran too allegedly sexually abused her[5]. The girl managed to escape from the lodge and reach Tirupur with the money Siva had left her. After hearing her tale, a team of sleuths traced Siva to Chennai and arrested him on 01-05-2017 (Monday) on charges of kidnapping and raping a minor girl[6]. Another team nabbed Prabakaran from his lodge in Puducherry. Both the accused have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). After all these happenings, the media started disciurse on “online sexual grooming” and so on!

Be smart in internet-1.jpg

Online sexual grooming – definition and so on![7]: Child grooming is generally understood as the practice of befriending and forming an emotional bond with a child by a person with the objective of sexual abuse. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the word ‘grooming’ was first used in connection with a paedophile in a 1985 story by Chicago Tribune which stated, “These ‘friendly molesters’ become acquainted with their targeted victim, gaining their trust while secretly grooming the child as a sexual partner.” Child grooming incidents have increased with the advent of the internet, where such incidents are increasingly taking place online, through public chatrooms and social media. In India too, such instances have been reported in the past[8].

  1. Last year, two teenagers were arrested in Kolkata for kidnapping and rape of a 15-year-old girl whom they had befriended on Facebook.
  2. Another instance of online grooming was reported in December 2016 where a teenage girl was raped by a Facebook friend in Mumbai.
  3. More recently, in January 2017, a minor girl in Cuttack alleged rape by a boy whom she had met through a social networking site.

With the proliferation of smartphone users in India, child grooming incidents can only be expected to rise in future.

Be smart in internet-2

Tulir’s discourse on Online sexual grooming[9]: As usual after some days, the analysis comes  in this way: “This is a classic case of sexual grooming,” says Vidya Reddy, of Tulir, Centre for Prevention and Healing of Child Sexual Abuse. “Abusers study a situation carefully to understand what a child’s Achilles heel is and then exploit the situation. Now, with almost every child having accesses to technology and internet in the form of a laptop or phone, these criminals have found new platforms to target children,” she adds. What Vidya explains is called online sexual grooming, a worldwide phenomenon, that has spread along with the speed and easy access to the internet. According to UNICEF, it can be defined as preparing a child or adult for sexual abuse, exploitation or ideological manipulation. A report released by the organisation in 2014 states that the surge in mobile and internet usage in India had brought 400 million people online. Of this, seven percent of internet users in the country are reportedly children. “Phones are now an extension of our hands and it has completely changed the way crime is committed and presented,” Vidya notes. Even a report of the Parliamentary Committee on Information Technology in 2014 recognized the threat posed to children by predatory paedophiles online. It emphasises how these predators “conceal their true identity whilst using the internet to ‘groom’ potential victims for sexual purposes.”

From home to horror[10]: The girl, Meena [name changed] too was unaware about the identity of the person she was chatting with. In fact, an officer told The News Minute, that it was only when Ibrahim called her on the phone that she even realised she had compromised all her data to an unknown man. But Ibrahim, as the police put it, was too smart for the girl. “He spoke to her very nicely and formed an emotional connect before she even realised the dangers of the situation,” a police officer told The News Minute. “He was just somebody who did odd jobs for a living but his real life was on Facebook. He has close to 5000 friends and they are all young girls,” she admits.

What parents and others should do?: As the issue has bee n so simple and as well as complicated in modern times, the following are suggested,  though, the modern ones might object on the grounds of “moral-policing” and so on:

  1. In schoools, moral education classes should be introduced naking them understand, realize and appreciate the moral values of family, parents, relations, respect to elders and connected issues.
  2. Of course, parents and elders should set example to their children, boys and girls and others.
  3. The studying teenage boys and girls should concentrate in studies and not in love, love-making, sex related topics.
  4. The cinema, TV, print and electronic media and connected persons should have some sort of “Social respinsibility” in their presentation of ads, news, serials etc.
  5. They should avoid negative suggestion, instread, present wth positive asppects giving good examples.
  6. Definitely, parents should watch the activities of their children, boys and girls carefully.
  7. Their extra-cautious activities should be monitored with the time-spending, money-requirement and spening, goingout on various pretexts etc.
  8. That teens from slums could kidnap and enjoy life with rich girls, autowalas, coolies and others also could join sucg fray to get girls just by wearing jeans, riding a bike, and such other iditic myths should not be promoted.
  9. The cine songs, depiction etc, should have some decency and decorum, instead of portraying the dancing actresses as whores, or they would go with anybody and indulge in sex immediately.
  10. The law enforcing auhtorities can monitor all these activities.

How is that Indians still do not know as to “Good Friday” is “Good” or “Bad” or that day is for mourning or celebration?

March 29, 2016

How is that Indians still do not know as to “Good Friday” is “Good” or “Bad” or that day is for mourning or celebration?

why Indians do not know about Good Fridsay 25-03-2016Business people want to do business on holidays: In a week filled with public holidays including Holi, Good Friday and Easter [(25-03-2016 (Friday), 26-03-2016 (Saturday) and 27-03-2016 (Sunday)], e-commerce sites have tried to capitalise on the four-day weekend by luring shoppers with heavy discounts[1]. It is quite natural thay business people want to do business on holidays! Therefore, the use of term ‘good Friday’ in a promotional campaign by E-commerce firm Snapdeal on Good Friday, a day observed to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, triggered a row, after which the company apologised[2], as reported by the Indian press is intriguing. It added the feason that the content of the promotions did not go down well with members of the Christian community, as despite its name, Good Friday is not a day of celebration. Instead, it is the day on which Christians commemorate the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. It is a day of fasting and penance for the community. It is in this context that some Christians felt that the advertisements put out by Snapdeal and Myntra were in bad taste[3]. Though, these media-guys suddenly became so “christian” to defend christians had not been intelligent enough to poin out the faux pas. Ironically, the so-called intelligent or secular Indian media did not point out when the ads were put on.

Snapdeal Good Friday 40 percent offerSnapdeal and Myntra offers on Good Friday: Issuing an (sic) statement, the e-tailer said: “We regret the tag line used. It is an error on our part”. “We extend our sincere apologies to all whose feelings we may have hurt inadvertently. We will work to ensure that something like this never happens again,” said a Snapdeal spokes person[4]. To cash in on the extended weekends due to Holi and Good Friday, Snapdeal had sent promotional e-mails to its customers with a subject line “It’s a really really good Friday|Flat 40% Off[5]. Another retailer Myntra also reportedly run a similar promotional campaign offering steep discounts ranging from 50 per cent to 80 per cent to its buyers on the day[6]. Despite several efforts, Myntra company officials could not be reached for comments. However, a section of people (Christians) felt offended to this as Good Friday is not a day of celebration.

why Indians do not know about Good Fridsay - Christians object-25-03-2016It (the objection of Christians) started with Goa: “I was appalled when I got the app notification from Myntra,” said Fernando Monte Da Silva, a journalist from Panjim in Goa. “I was shocked at the ignorance and insensitivity on display.” Silva said the prefix “Good” often misleads people into thinking it is a day for celebration. There are several theories surrounding the etymology of Good Friday, one of them being that the day is “good” because Christ showed his love for mankind by dying for their sins. However, Silva said this confusion could not be used an excuse in the case. “I had a professor who wished me for Good Friday, but that is an honest mistake,” said Silva. “In a company as big as Myntra, I would assume that there would be levels of scrutiny before such content is (are) put out. Ignorance is one thing, but when you’re using it as a promo to generate revenue, that’s just taking it a tad too far.” Silva shared a screenshot of the alert on his Facebook page and triggered a debate over whether sheer ignorance was at play or whether the content writers had pushed the boundaries of creativity. Thus, this news was also created out of Twitter only!

While few BJP leaders were wrong, Modi was correct on “Good Friday”: The faux pas occurred on a day when two senior BJP leaders were today left embarrassed after they set Twitter abuzz with criticism by “wishing happiness” on the occasion of Good Friday. After all when the business people with all nuances could not know “Good Friday” is “bad”, how the poor BJP leaders know. Any way, Modi tweeteed, “Good Friday is a day of prayer & a day to remember the noble, pious & compassionate thoughts of Jesus Christ, that touched many lives”! Any way, these Hindutwa guys have not been so sophisticated as the crooked, atheist and secular Karunanidhi who wishes and weeps dramatically for all non-Hindu festivals or mournings without fail, even if they forget.

Tech In Asia ‘s campaign against campaign:  Eye-popping sales and deals of the week are pretty standard marketing gimmicks for retailers across the world, online or offline[7], thus noted one Techniasia. In India, where ecommerce is seeing breakneck growth, taking up any opportunity to promote sales has become a pretty standard deal. There are Diwali sales, Christmas deals, regional celebrations and in true American fashion, even back to school campaigns. However, it has failed to record that these campaigners too had gone in “American fashion” but, took it as “Black Friday”! Over the weekend, two Indian biggies – Snapdeal and Myntra, owned by Flipkart – pushed the envelope so far, it all fell apart. They used Good Friday, the day observed to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, as promotional material. Not surprisingly, customers lashed out online, thus, Techniasia continued its big lie, as if “all customers” indulged in such lashing out. “We know it’s a Good Friday when you get 50-80 percent off,” said a Myntra campaign[8]. Snapdeal went along similar lines, saying it was a “really really good Friday,” peddling a flat forty percent off campaign on the website. Snapdeal has since apologized for the faux pas, but Myntra just told Tech In Asia it had no comments i.e, they could not be reached[9].

Indians do not know Good Fridsay - Modi and his collegues-25-03-2016Snapdeal’s Arvind confessed that they were ignorant about Good Friday!: That’s telling, given how a marketing campaign in these companies would have to be vetted and approved by an entire team before it went live, and couldn’t simply be a slip by one person. “There is pressure of increasing sales on all retailers, and it’s not just on online ones. But this purely a reflection of the ineptness of the marketing department at these companies,” chairman of management consulting firm TechnopakAdvisors told Tech in Asia. However, most industry watchers said this wouldn’t make a lasting dent on either company’s brand image. India is a secular country, but about 80 percent of its population is Hindu. Industry experts say the blunder may have been lost on a number of customers, who themselves may not be well acquainted with the significance of the day of mourning. “This is ignorance, but this won’t hurt the companies in the long run. When it comes to brand image, I don’t think customers will remember for too long,” Arvind said.

Black Friday and Good Friday in American way: BlacThe business people obviously confused with “Black Friday” (sales and shopping) with “Good Friday”! Thanksgiving Day in the United States (the fourth Thursday of November). Since 1932, it has been regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in the US, and most major retailers open very early (and more recently during overnight hours) and offer promotional sales. Black Friday is not an official holiday, but California and some other states observe “The Day After Thanksgiving” as a holiday for state government employees, sometimes in lieu of another federal holiday such as Columbus Day[10]. Many non-retail employees and schools have both Thanksgiving and the following Friday off, which, along with the following regular weekend, makes it a four-day weekend, thereby increasing the number of potential shoppers. It has routinely been the busiest shopping day of the year since 2005[11].

Has Christianity and Christ failed in India?: From Snapdeal to Myntra amd politicians do not know about the significance of “Good Friday”, how common people of India know? For example, how many of Indian Christians, who were converted from Hindu religion really know about it mourn? The missionaries had been fooling the heathen Indians, idolatrous Hindus and what not for the last 300 years, but, yet, the “enlightened” converted Christians could not understand the theology of Good Friday and Easter. This clearly proves the religious fraud, failure of Christianity and Christ and utter uselessness of their theology. Why then thousands of missionaries of A to Z denominations come here, spent millions and loot millions to foll Indians and also fool themselves. Let them take a relook at themselves, as the commericial companies did blunder.

Dignified dress, Indian women, Media’s role and the apology of the MP who pleaded for the cause!

TDP PMs remarks about the dress of Indian women

TDP PMs remarks about the dress of Indian women

Murli Mohan Maganti Telugu Desam Party MP, while discussing on the safety of women, opined his views about wearing decent dress. The media reported it as follows:

·         Deccan Chronicle says[1], “TDP member Murali Mohan ‘advises’ women to dress properly, sparks controversy………….”;

·         Zee News declares[2], “TDP MP makes sexist remark in Parliament, later apologises”, While none of the media either print or electronic has given the full version of what was read in the Parliament, most of the media mentioned only part of the following line picked up from his speech, as if he talked something nonsence or serious or sexist comments as interpreted, “……to uphold the tradition of our Indian culture, I would earnestly appeal to all my sisters, daughters and girls to dress dignifiedly,”

·         The Business Standard added the following[3], “I would appeal to brothers to treat every woman as his own family member,” he said. “This would be a tribute to mother India.”

·         Odhisha Times also carried these sentences[4].

·         IBNlive says[5], “TDP MP makes sexist remarks in Lok Sabha, says women should dress in a ….”. India Today has its version[6].

·         Deccan Chronicle[7] agains came with that “Twitterati slams TDP MP Murali Mohan Maganti over his women remark”.

The reporter was virtually forcing him to react: The conversation between the TV reporter and the MP appeared dramatic, as a viewer could not understand what was wrong in the speech of the MP.

Sir, you said like that, can you define what do you mean by “dignified dress”?

I read agaid what I read in the Parliament, re-read from the paper in his hands as follows:: “I endlessly appeal to daughters, sisters and girls of the country to dress in a dignified way and uphold the tradition of Indian culture. I appeal to my brothers to treat every girl as a family member and treat her with respect. This will be a great tribute to Mother India. India has had a special place across the world for its culture.” Here, what is offending, indecent and shocking to women is intriguing.

Indian women dress comments apology etc

Indian women dress comments apology etc

Dignified dress means Indian dress and not modern.

Can you say that modern dress is not dignified?

Nodded in affirmative.

But, your comments are not offending women?

If offending, I wittdraw them?

But, the women are offended.

If my comments are bothering them, I apololize to them.

Shobha Oza, the President of All India Women Congress (AIWC) responded sas usual that the men were trying to advice about the dress and all and that was not necessary.

Criticism of the statement made by the TDP MP: The Women’s rights activists and women political leaders called the statement really immature.

Actor and YSRC politician Roja said that Mr Murali Mohan was making big and intellectual statements though he had been an actor all his life.

“What does he mean by dignified?: A sari exposes more than a jeans with a t-shirt. It is up to a woman what she wants to wear. Being a hero and a producer, what drove him to make such a comment? He is a full time commercial hero and this shows double standards. He is simply making big and intellectual statements, whereas his movies have portrayed much more stuff.”

Social media too poked fun at the actor-turned MP. Netizens questioned what he meant by the term “dignified” and asked why rapes of minor girls were being reported in the country.

Displaying a medieval mindset: Shabbir kD þ@shabbirkd wrote: “Our MPs are displaying a medieval mindset. No wonder they cannot protect our women.”

An extra inch of visible flesh causes them to rape..!!: aastha chauhan þ@aasthachauhan27: “Really..? An extra inch of visible flesh causes them to rape..!! Well, this is more an insult to MEN than women…”

better rules & regulations & respect for women, not lectures:  Siva Kumar Raju þ@iamsivaji: “Does he really care about women? if he did, he might have demanded better rules & regulations & respect for women, not lectures

MP does not stand up against such sexism: MnM þ@McSpare: “If our elected women MPs will not stand up against such sexism in the Lok Sabha who else will?”

Should women opt for designing dress?: Afaq Alam Ansari þ@Afaq_404: “Should opt for designing dresses for women if they show their incompetence as MP by stating such comments.”

If man can wear anything, why not women?: Indi Patriot þ@theindipatriot: A sari is so much more peek a boo than a full t-shirt and jeans…but then they say a man sees what he wants to.”

Dress should not be obscene: Jeevitha Rajashekar, former actor and BJP leader said, “It is completely a personal choice of women. We know how to dress decently. He should not say that they should not wear modern clothes. He did not follow what he said in his acting carrier. I believe that every person should wear what they are comfortable in and it should not be obscene be it either men or women.”

The comments were idiocy: Vasanth Kannabiran, Founder member, Asmita Collective for Women said, “This is pure idiocy. It is very troubling on how this whole thing is going on about women and their way of living. Are they trying to go back in the dark ages? The MP needs to go back and get some education. Does he even know about equality? What are his qualifications? He is thinking 60-years backward. They should be penalised for speaking like this as this is directed to a whole bunch of people. How do these people talk with such insensitive and casual attitude? They know they can get away with it and more than half will agree with what he said. But, if one is punished, the next will learn. This is total impunity.”

What the responses show: If the responses are put together, the following points draw attention.

  1. What does he mean by dignified?
  2. Displaying a medieval mindset
  3. An extra inch ofvisible flesh causes them to rape..!!
  4. better rules & regulations & respect for women, not
  5. MP does not stand up against such sexism
  6. Should women opt for designing dress?
  7. If man can wear anything, why not women?
  8. Dress should not be obscene.
  9. The comments were idiocy.

No doubt, girls, young ladies and women have every right to wear any dress of their choice or othyerwise and none could advise them. As for as the mode of dress in the context of rape, many times, some police officers, women activists and others have come up with the idea of “women wearing decent dress”. But every time, they have been questioned, objected to and pressurize to change their opinion by the media. Here also the MP has expressed his views very politely, carefully and sensitively with all respect to women. Yet, the media played it differently and the activists responded in its line. One has to wait and see, who would be the real gainder in such sensitive issues affecting the honour of Indian women.

Critics do not offer positive or constructiove criticium or ideas, but other critics are condemned: At one side conservative, moderate and conventional views, responses and opinions have always been condemned, criticized and even disparaged. The aggressive criticism agains them has been so severe that even others have been silenced to opine asbout the issue. Many times their voices are silenced or the opinions edited and suppressed. However, the criticizers have not come out with any ideas to curb the menace of raping of women in India. Particularly, in the context of Meerut, a communal factor is found and it affects the thinking processes of all. Moreover, such phenomena is also associated with some global portent factors, it is downplayed or distracted and diverted also. The disease is not pathologically analyzed, but the commentators are attacked, observers threatened and critics silenced.
